So, I heard this was a great pizza spot in Bridgeport. They have free parking in front of the restaurant on 35th. They're open late and they have a large dine in area. They accept cards so it's not cash only. We got our pizza to go since I didn't want to be one of those people that eat there until they close. I ordered a medium size with sausage, pepperoni, garlic, and onions. It was ready after 15-17 mins. The service was very friendly. Prices were fine. So, it was hot after we opened it up. I like my pizza to be more on the well done, crispy side. I'll have to take off some points because the pizza was floppy. When I picked up a slice, all of the ingredients immediately fell off. The crust was kind of crispy but it could be more. The ingredients were fine, I really liked the sausage. It had a good flavor. I later read in my FB Chicago pizza group that you can order well done or extra well done. If I had known, this would have been rated higher. The customer service could be greatly improved. Plus, the wait times are horrible. This could be due to the recent Tik Tok video. However, why tell us to come for our pizza within 30 min when you know we may have to wait an additional hour for the pizza when we arrive? - which we are currently doing! It's really frustrating. Not sure what happened tonight but service was not good. Hubby ordered pizza and ravioli and I added a beef dip well mozzarella hot. The lady at the counter picked the bag up the long way and when hubby said the juices are going to soak the paper bag and that's when she told him it's in plastic! Get home car seat is soaked and no plastic on beef! I called and the man said they don't use plastic and would tell her not to say this. It's been a while since I've been to Phil's bc we don't live around the area but because we came to opening day for the Sox, it was a must!! The service is great! The food is phenomenal and the people here are on it. Love the ambience here. This pizza place is the place to go. I love it! I usually get a medium pepperoni with extra sauce and well done and a side of fries. It's usually really good but this time my pizza was very salty. They stacked the pepperonis together so it was a little much. The fries were amazing as always! I will return because I usually order from here. It could have just been an off day today. read more

The cheese pizza was inhaled by all the children; the giardinera delivers for spice lovers; the sausage and mushroom leftovers hit the spot this morning reheated for breakfast. I've now been twice, and while I agree the pizza is decent, the service leaves a lot to be desired. Both times I visited, the staff at the counter were noticeably rude. I had called ahead and arrived on time, but was told to wait without any explanation or estimated wait time. It left me wondering whether they had even received my order. Eventually, the pizza was ready--but the woman at the counter barely acknowledged me. She just asked for payment and handed me the box without so much as a "thank you." Holy Cannoli!!! Incredible pizza. Got a sausage giardiniera and a pepperoni onion. The quality of all ingredients was top tier. Maybe the best sausage I've had on pizza. The pepperoni was so much better than other pep and the onions sliced super thin. The crust was delectable. It's pretty dense - 2 of us didn't come close to finishing two mediums. This family owned pizza spot definitely keeps it authentic and simple when it comes to pizza. Serving the local community, they do well to keep the menu the same and the prices fairly accommodating. My boyfriend and I grabbed a large Phil's Special without onions for dinner and we enjoyed it. As a first time customer, I like the flavor of the sausage and the sizing but I felt the crust was too thick for a thin crust pizza; felt like a regular crust. And it was a smidge too dry - I think the thickness of the crust comparing to the amount of ingredients on top wasn't good. The sauce is good for sure. First time visiting the city and was recommended this place. We picked up a Pepperoni and Sausage pizza to go and ate it while stuck in traffic so I forgot to get a picture. The crust was thin and crispy but still sturdy to hold lots of toppings, had thick chunks of ground sausage throughout, and the sauce was so good! I called and ordered two pizzas one jumbo with pepperoni and an medium with Giardiniera and sausage, the man who answered my call repeated my order so I thought everything was fine. I get to Phil's in Bridgeport and i paid $64 for an order which I thought was mine, I get home to two jumbo pizzas one with 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 sausage and onion and another jumbo with sausage and onion. I live 30 minutes away and was pissed to see my toppings different. I called to let them know I got the wrong order and all he said was ok I'll let them know. I called the number on the receipt to let the guy know I had his order and he had mine most likely. He was pissed as well. This is my favorite thin crust pizza in the entire Chicago area! Cracker like crust with some thickness to it, great sauce and chunks of sausage with fennel in it that are amazing. Same family running the place for decades, stapled paper cover so you know it's classic Chicago pub style.
