This is a really good sandwich place that I like to come to during my lunch breaks (the shop is located across the street from Huntington Memorial Hospital). The sandwiches look pretty normal but are really tasty. I don't know if it's the ingredients or the way they prep the sandwiches. They have a pretty diverse menu and the prices are very reasonable. OK sandwiches, they do delivery so it's convenient. I don't like going to the actual location because it's a strip mall and shares with grocery store VONS it's always busy and hard to find parking. They have a good variety of sandwiches and fillings so you can or get one to your liking if you're on the pick side, they have a section just for Avocado lovers. The sandwiches are maybe three inches thick with ingredients so the bread is thinner so it doesn't look balanced and doesn't look like it will hold up but they turn out ok since they are made fresh and not soggy. Rather have a sandwich from here over Subway any day, I usually go with the Roast Beef or Pastrami and mushroom. They also have other food items like salad that are of giant portions if you aren't feeling in the sandwich mood. I have been going to Vince for years. The quality of the food has been good for a long time. Last week I ordered the number one which is ham turkey and Swiss on a roll with lettuce light mayo tomato pickle and red onion. When I got back to the office to eat the sandwich I noticed they only put one slice of turkey and one slice of ham and one slice of Swiss cheese. This is all I receive for $7.49 plus tax? I would rather them raise the price $.50 or a dollar and provide more meat and cheese as they used to. Rather than cut back on the meats and cheeses due to the increased cost of those products. If this continues to occur I will start using a different sandwich shop. The service at Vinces is always good and consistent. They do have places to sit inside and out but the ambience is nothing to speak of. I think the interior could use a remodel since it hasn't changed in many years. read more

I ordered a Chicken salad sandwich on a French roll..... the gal taking my order asked the other gal if the chicken salad was ready which raised my expectation thinking it was super fresh. In short, what a disappointment... the chicken salad was bland, tasteless, over run with mayo and the ratio of bread to chicken salad was equally disappointing...I should've gone to Vons in the same complex but I always try to support small business, in this case corporate was the way to go. This place gets two stars for being friendly and clean, but 0 stars for the food. Four of us each had a different sandwich. The salami and cold cuts were average supermarket quality, and lacking in any flavor. The bacon on my turkey/bacon sandwich was scant and totally flavorless. No flavor. The vegetables were fresh, but the construction was totally off. There was WAY too much mayo. I'm talking gobs and gobs; and barely any onion, pickle, tomato, lettuce. The shop itself is pretty small and casual. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I'm picky about pastrami but this is probably one of the best pastrami sandwiches I have had (I don't like my pastrami very fatty). They make their pastrami two ways (NY & regular). I got the regular. All of our sandwiches were ordered in the large size and the portions were extremely generous. Parking is easy and their hours are convenient. Perfect meal on a hot day. How have I not reviewed this place? It's been a family favorite for decades. My mother is a nurse at the plaza across the street and this is the mandatory spot I must go to get her lunch if I want to visit her at work. Everything is freshly made, the employees remember you and ask you about your family, they have a nice bottled drink selection, and it's simply nice to support a small, local family business. So, I ordered the NY style pastrami on sourdough. It was good, I never Thad it on sourdough. After I took the first bite, omg, there's coleslaw in the sandwich. Cheap (for Pasadena) sandwiches from an independent shop. For about $7 you can get a sandwich with avocado, however, they don't offer any combo options, everything is a la carte. They have a variety of bread option including wheat, sourdough, squaw (see menu) and you can mix and match. They will even toast the bread for cold sandwiches. Sure, the price is about the same for a chain sandwich shop (Which Wich), but you're supporting your small business here. The parking lot can get really packed during the lunch rush 12-2pm, so plan accordingly. There is a small indoor and outdoor eating area but is usually all full during lunch. I have only been here once and I am already a fan! I was looking for a local Deli in Pasadena and yelp answered my prayers. I came her for lunch yesterday, phoned in my order, showed up less than 10 minutes later and my order was sitting there ready for me to pay with no line. I ordered the Avocado, Turkey, Sprouts and Swiss Sub & picked a Snapple out of the fridge to drink. My total order came out to $9.03. The sub was exactly what I was craving. As an avocado lover, you can't go wrong with avocado, turkey & Swiss, but the addition of sprouts seals the deal for me. I can't wait to try a different sandwich next week. The sammich broken down: Wheat bread was softer than a baby's bottom and tasted so delicious. The lettuce was crispy with a slight chill to it. Tomatoes....not too big, not too small...not soggy at all, just the way I like em. Now the best part...BACON!!!! Crispy and crunchy but not burnt.
