this pizza is so amazing almost every single day I come to this pizza shop and the pizza here is so good. Michael is the goat too.

    Amazing place to be.

I love this play so much, as a teenager this is the best pizza I have ever had in my life. The service is amazing and I would recommend to everyone in the Hamilton area.

Very very nice pizza place. loads of parking, very nice staff, great prices, very clean, many places to sit, and public bathroom as well. It's been here since the 70s and now I know why. They even have a tv ini here for customers

Stopping in here after more that 15 years sure brought back some memories. It didn't matter that the interior is completely different after being rebuilt post fire. The owner and chef Vincent is still in residence, and one of my favorite treats was still in prominent display, their zeppolis. I feel old when I think back on my teen years spent here playing the hot new games, Pac man or Defender. Even then we didn't come here for the food alone, but for the simple fact that we could get here without the need of cars or DL's. Fast forward 10 years or so and they were one of the first area places to do whole wheat pies. My best friend and I would eat one about once a week, great crispy crust that can hold up to any topping though we usually opted for garlic and shroom. Fast forward another 15 plus years and it"s present day. A need for a few quick slices and all these memories rush back. I see a shroom and a sausage slice that seem to look ok, was really hoping to see the wheater though. Vincent rushed the reheating so I asked for it to be returned to the oven. A few minutes later he brought it to my table. Consistency had always been an issue here, and comparing both slices it may still be. The sausage had a thinner crust that barely held up to lifting, but the meat was pretty good. The shroom was the better of the 2, thicker crust and better cheese to sauce ratio. The crust here is pretty good, a typical pizza style but is cooked just right, the sauce is ok, not my favorite. The recollections were nice, and it is somewhat soothing to think that this fixture from my misspent youth was still thriving. One of these days I'll order a wheater to go or maybe a steak sandwich, but until then will go elsewhere for a slice or two.

Hadn't been inside Vincent's Pizza for a couple of decades. Like what they did with the place. New windows, furniture, open kitchen, and cathedral ceiling for the religious crowd. My double slice lunch was ordered "well done," to be sure the reheat job was adequate. I wanted the cheese to bubble again before it was served. When it arrived, it was almost ablaze. I had to wait a couple of minutes before I dare put slice to mouth. When I did, the weight of the cheese was too much for the crust, and the point immediately folded under. At that point I went for a plastic fork and knife to assist me because it was still too hot to allow the melty cheese to touch the skin. The taste was fairly good with mildly salty cheese complimenting the slightly sweet tomato sauce. I realize this was a pizza; not a tomato pie, but the cheese seemed out of proportion to the sauce and made the slices difficult to manage, and somewhat off in flavors. Beyond that, there seemed to be an inordinate amount of oil on the slices. I allowed it to run off and pool on the paper plate. When I was done and ready to throw away the paper trash, I found a puddle of oil under the plate where it has soaked through. That's a Meh violation. Vincent's has its admirers. Several of the guys stopping in knew the Major Domo/Chef well, and he sat with some of them to chat about the world. Still, this was not close to my favorite pies in the area, and it will likely be another decade before I return.

Rocco's closed down in Newtown, PA and their pork chop was the best...this pork chop was right up there with Rocco's. The mustard sauce, unique topping, was amazing. I am thinking about it today and my mouth is watering. My husband's veal was probably the best he has ever had. The most tender veal ever with a delicious marsala sauce. Then there were the pastas and seafood...all delicious. Oh and the calamari. It was all so darn good. Kyle was our server and he added to a perfect dining experience. He answered our questions, described the choices right on, made recommendations, he was friendly, had a wanting to please attitude and my 13 yr old granddaughter was crushing on him. (Haha). Wish all of our servers were that effecient and good. Gotta love a BYOB! The restaurant is modernly decorated and very comfortable. High energy kinda place. Noise level was high but all restaurants are loud these days and it really wasn't too bad. It was our first time at this restaurant and even though it is a bit far...we can't wait to go back. It is a pleasure to support a family run business. The owner came to our table and you could see her pride and we also felt our business was appreciated. I see why every table was full on a Sunday night. I just wish this place were in our neighborhood!! Love love love it!!!

There I was, standing near a place called Slice of Brooklyn, which sounds like a promise about pizza, not about beef. But geography, as always, won. The door handles were spoons. Not metaphors. Actual spoons. A relic from a frozen yogurt past that refuses to die. Inside, the decor felt like a dream someone had after eating too much tiramisu. Dresses on walls. The nose of a Vespa. A cheerful sign that said Ciao as if it were purchased from a Bed, Bath & Beyond in some Venetian suburb. Teacups and playing cards dangled from plastic greenery that had never known sunlight. I accepted all of this. A young man took my order. Efficient. Unmoved by the universe. He said fifteen minutes. It was ten. A small victory for truth. Under promise, over deliver. At home, I opened the box and found abundance. Meat, peppers, onions, mushrooms. No restraint, and all high quality. A quiet miracle of sharp provolone had appeared without being summoned. It was fresh and it was right, and it provided an Instagram worthy cheese pull if only I were into such things. The bread held its dignity. Toasted properly. No collapse, no tragedy. Was it the best cheesesteak in the area. No. There are specialists for that sort of thing. But it was better than it had any right to be. Better than many places that try harder and achieve less. Persistence is a virtue, and so is knowing exactly what you are. Nonno Sal's isn't chasing the high end pizza pilgrim. You won't find philosophical arguments about char or hydration levels happening here. What you will find is a fairly dependable pie with thin crust that holds up, a good layer of cheese, and sauce that tastes like someone has been making it the same way for awhile. The slices fold without complaint and the toppings behave themselves. It's the sort of pizza you bring home on a Friday when everyone is tired and nobody wants to cook or a speech. The prices are kinder to your wallet than the famous spots nearby, and that matters. Not every meal needs to be a religious experience. Sometimes food just needs to feed five people without causing regret. The sandwiches and salads are solid citizens too. Nothing showy, just competent and filling. They even still do a nice version of Peppers and Eggs, which is a throwback I can appreciate. The dining area has a few old Formica tables that look like they have seen a few Little League celebrations, but not much regular use. You can eat there if you like, but this is a takeout joint through and through. In a world that rewards spectacle, Nonno Sal's rewards appetite and respects your budget. It knows its job and does it. It's one of those places that can be easily missed if you're not looking for it, as there is no signage along the road to indicate a pizza place (not one that I could see having passed by many times over the years). Italian eateries and pizza parlors are a dime a dozen in the area, however this one is mainly suited for take out, with a few tables off to the side to eat a slice or have a quick no frills lunch. It's definitely not a fancy place you'd want to dine in at, despite having a full menu of pizza and Italian dishes. We kept things simple by ordering a large plain cheese pizza and a chicken parmigiana sandwich. The pizza was slightly above average for a central NJ pizzeria, with decent sauce, cheese, and crust. It was a slightly thinner base and crust as compared to more doughy and thicker counterparts in the area. The chicken parm sandwich was similarly above average with decent ingredients. Everything was satisfying and on par for a good central NJ pizza experience. I'd rate my overall experience a solid 3.5/5, but happy to round up since the person working the counter was kind and thanked me when I went to pick up.

We just quit going out for Italian other than for tomato pies, but now we've begun actively looking for a place to enjoy simple Italian food--outside of the ubiquitous tomato pies. Gennaro's was our first stop, with the menu definitely reading more New World Italian than Old World. We started with a couple of appetizers: The Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms in Scampi sauce and the Antipasto Salad. I'm not a fan of Antipasto salads (I've a three item max addition rule for salads and tomato pies), but my wife enjoyed it. It was your standard antipasto salad for the area--perhaps more generous with the meat and cheese than the last one we ordered up the street at Papa's. The stuffed mushrooms had a good flavor, and although the sauce didn't really hit me as Scampi (the garlic wasn't really there), it was still good on its own, and I'd order it again. My wife ordered the Pork Chop Giambotta, which she truly enjoyed. It was a thick, good sized pork chop covered with a sauce that included potatoes, sausage slices, and sautéed peppers. The menu said that the peppers were hot and sweet, but they were pretty much 99.9% hot peppers. If that's an issue for you, I'd make a point in mentioning it to your server first. My wife doesn't do spicy, but luckily I was there to find a home for the hot peppers, and she said she'd order it again if we returned. My Veal Saltimbocca, however, was a letdown. The veal was overcooked and had lost its tenderness, but most surprising to me was that it was very different from the standard version I've known for years. Had I read the description more carefully, I'd have caught the fact it was in a tomato demi-glace rather than the white wine and butter emulsion I know and love. Also, the ham that was used was not the thinly sliced prosciutto one normally sees, instead it was a thick slice of something that I can't honestly tell you was prosciutto or not. The use of spinach instead of a sage leaf wasn't a complete shock, as I've seen that before. Overcooked veal, the prosciutto mystery, and tradition straying aside, the flavor almost bordered on being alright, but it definitely wasn't what I'd hoped for when I placed the order. To add insult to injury, I asked for pasta as my side, and was given a couple choices--I chose the linguini and got served a dente-less spaghetti. When I asked the waiter (who was otherwise extremely conscientious and attentive) if they were out of linguini, I was told that there's really very little difference between the two, which so blew my mind that I just shrugged and ate. While we were there, we could see that there were many people who acted like regulars enjoying their meals, and many of them were also eating tomato pies, however, we're on the hunt for a place that's going to satisfy our need for an Italian place that provides beyond the pizza oven. I'm up in the air about a second shot--my wife was much happier than me with the location (which means we'll likely go), but I'll definitely ask our server more questions about what I'm ordering next time to avoid any surprises.
