Great sushi rolls with a nice environment! We came here and ordered the agadashi tofu, dungenese crab roll, dynamite roll and the Boston roll. The tofu was soft inside and fried outside and the portions were huge so we were almost full from that! My favorites were the dungenese crab roll and the dynamite rolls -- very tasty! The Boston roll had fresh scallops and fish eggs but for some reason I feel that the taste of scallops doesn't fit well with the texture of sushi rice: when eaten separately it is okay but together it's a bit weird. They also gave us free fruit and candy at the end which was nice. Overall it's a great experience. read more

Last night after swimming lessons we found out our original dinner destination was closed on Mondays. We headed to Village sushi to give it a try and get our fix of sashimi, rolls and tempura. Going our for dinner with a family with young kids is like playing restaurant roulette. Depending how rested, hungry or moody the kids are, your experience can be anywhere from blissful to brutal. Other people have left reviews mentioning the good quality (and not cheap but fair prices - you get what you pay for, right?) at Village Sushi, so I won't reiterate any of that. What I will share are some welcomed measures Village Sushi took to make sure our family dining experience was an enjoyable one. - kiddy cups and bendable straws to reduce the chance of spills and some bubble-blowing fun - cartoon-themed kiddy plates and little forks and spoons - yummy lollipops with the cheque alongside werther's candies for Mom and Dad (I tried unsuccessfully to negotiate a trade) I highly recommend Village Sushi to anyone looking for an enjoyable, quality sushi dinner - with out without kids :) read more

Clean, elegant, fresh and thoughtfully prepared. One of my better sushi experiences. All the extras added to the experience. Flower and extra sauces on sushi rolls. Three pieces of fruit at end of meal. Generous servings. Reasonable prices. If your sushi experience includes special roll. A new twist on favorites. And elegantly prepared meals. As visually appealing as the taste. Try this place. read more

Village Sushi - House green salad. Fresh blanches vegetables and seasonal fruit. - Sushi Bars Near Me - Surrey, British Columbia

Miso soup is so salty, veggies in teriyaki are cold which I've never experienced before even in horrible restaurants, so appalling, salmon sashimi is clearly from frozen because it's not even defrosted enough, serving order is all messed up, sushi rolls are poorly rolled, they fall apart as soon as you try to pick them up. The booths set up is cute and everything, but the paper partitions are so dirty. Service is not too bad. Why it's so hard to find good sushi place in cloverdale/Clayton area? read more

Best sushi place I've found in Langley so far. There are private booths and our hostess took great care of us. I recommend the crab roll and the chicken teriyaki roll. Overall great value for the price. read more

First time here- ordered the "Love Boat" Set. Miso is simple, salad had berries, veggie tempura was delicious, sushi was good. Customer service was great! read more

This is our go to sushi spot near home. It is nice, clean, and consistent. The fish is top quality fare and always prepared care. We usually do takeout but we do appreciate the ambiance of restaurant when we decide to dine in. They could use some better special rolls. read more

Come here often for sushi and it's great! Reason for the 1 star is that everywhere you look (website, Yelp, google and even their menu) it says they are open until 9:30pm. Tonight I called to place an order for pick up at 9:05pm only to be told "we're closed". Update your information then. Luckily we didn't drive there prior to phoning in or that would have been more annoying. read more

Sushi bars are as common as Starbucks out in the wilds of Surrey, but I like this place because it's Japanese run and it has the little private rooms along one wall. They emphasize the visual here. In Japan, presentation is as important as flavour, and you see that attention in the menu with lots of pictures of the food and also the creative presentation of everything they serve. My friends got beautiful plates of sushi, and the humble tempura-don I ordered was served in a simple yet striking bowl, with the tempura artfully arranged on top. The portions were a little smaller than I expected, though. They kept the tea hot as we ate, and afterward served a plate of seasonal fruits, also prettily arranged. Overall, an authentic experience (except perhaps the 80s pop tunes, but I don't care overmuch for koto music or enka singing anyway) in an unexpected place. read more

Nice sushi and donburi bowls. Overall clean and love the more private rooms. At the end of our meal we got little fruit plates as well. I liked the service read more

My wife and I are regulars here, and they recognize us over the phone by our order alone. They are extremely cordial and welcoming, the food is fantastic (the Crazy Boy roll is awesome), and the prices are very fair. Orders for pick-up are never longer than 30 minutes, even during busy nights. Highly recommended! read more

This is a hiding germ , good sushi and so good service , nice and clean .... very enjoy the California roll .

Best deal around for the donburi bowls - great portion with a great price! Take out and dine in service is great - not our favourite for sushi, but our go-to for donburi and teriyaki dishes. read more

This is the 1st time I've been here since the pandemic and so probably things have changed since. I used to come here from time to time and their service was friendly and the food was delicious. This time though, after I'd ordered my food, and this was about 30 minutes prior to closing, I see the waitress take a paper towel to wipe the bottom of her shoe. Then she goes on with her waitressing duties like re-stocking the soy sauce and rearranging things as well as serving food to customers with the same hand. I didn't bother saying anything at the time because it's common sense that if you touch the bottom of your shoe even with a paper towel, you should soon after wash your hands before handling any plates of food that go to a customer. I also didn't want to say anything out loud because the chef was still working on my food and didn't want any kind of retribution. Needless to say I won't be coming back ever. read more

Won't be returning to this restaurant, ordered take out twice from here and every single time they would forget our rolls. Called them and explained what happen and they continue to argue they in fact had place the rolls in our Order. I would rather take my money else where. read more

Good Sushi Place - we picked the private room to sit and ordered BBQ Beef Short Ribs teriyaki bowl - comes with Ribs , sprouts , Veggies in a cast iron sizzler with bowl of rice and amazing miso soup! This is a good sushi place in the surrey/langley area. You can't go wrong here... their food is good and so is their service. They are consistent with everything, also the environment of the restaurant is very nice and cozy (not fancy but nice). The wife and I have been going there since 2009 so I can definitely write this review with confidence. read more

Hard to make a decision but settled on the volcano roll. Very nice and spicy!! They offered a little fresh fruit mix for dessert... Nice touch! read more

I love this place! The sushi here is made with each fresh ingredient and you can tell by the taste. The prices are also reasonable. The staff is very friendly and I always like the fact when they say "seat yourself please". My husband and I have been going here since we met and the food has been consistent with its sushi and prices. :) read more

I've had sushi far and wide but nothing as delicious as Village Sushi. The fish is fresh, the plating is gorgeous and the passion they show for their trade is amazing. The signature sauce is too die for. A touch too expensive for sushi but worth it. read more

I live close by and go in for take out on occassion. The food is not out-standing but comparible to other sushi take out but what I would like to tell is how nice it was that my boyfriend and I were sitting in the restaurant just waiting for our take out order when the owner came over and brought us each a nice bowl of various fruits to eat while we waited! Wow, when does anyone ever do a thing like that? Sometimes just being nice over-rides everything else!! read more

This place was awesome! Food was super good and came fast, staff was very friendly. Would totally come again!

I have been to village a few times now, once for eating in, but, mostly I order to go since I live real close! Anyway, I think my expectations were higher especially based on recommendations from friends, but, I thought it was just ok and I seriously doubt I will go back again after giving it my final try the other day. And, the prices are a little higher than they should be for sushi, unless the quality is much better. read more

Well, they have good food... but for the price you pay... I would expect a bit more character in their employees... do I recommend this place? I would say if you must eat right away go to the Memphis Blues. read more

I've been here a half a dozen times before over the past few years. The food is pretty great...it takes a long time, the portions are small and it's pricier than the competition. read more

Just found this place. It's quiet easy to get to has nice decor and is appealing. The service was quite good the lady was quick with drinks and tea as well as soup. The dinner box is what I usually get and it's very good for a decent price. Good food and good service get the job done. read more

The staff weren't very friendly, we had to wait a long time to get our tea and our food and the atmosphere is cold and unwelcoming.

After working a 14 hour shift I stopped in to get something to eat on the way home. 25 minutes later my food was still not ready so I just went home and made a sandwich $20 lighter in the pocket. read more

Ok but far from good. I just moved into the area and after seeing the reviews I had high hopes for this place as it's so close and about all I eat out is sushi. Wasn't bad, but I won't be returning as it's too expensive for what you get. Air conditioning was wonderful. read more

This is my go to Sushi establishment. Excellent service and the fish is very fresh. I've eaten here over 100 times over the last 2 years and never had a bad meal. My family loves it too. Often, for work I'll be driving around tempted to try new sushi spots but I usually just wait til I get home and head over to Village Sushi cause I know it's gonna be perfect. read more

Best selection in cloverdale. Best variety in the roll tray and no one else has that perfect combination dinner box! Well done village sushi. read more

Have been twice in the past few weeks. Both times exceptionally busy. That said they were helpful and gave us extra even though we hadn't complained. It was busy enough that some people did leave (they did have a small child so waiting is not an option) It is pricer but you get what you pay for. They have a steady stream of people for take out which we will try the next time. I had the teriyaki beef dinner box and could almost not finish it. read more

I have been to over 100 sushi places in BC and I've been to Village sushi 3 times from what I've seen they provide great sushi, however there sushi is very overpriced compared to many other sushi places and whether the quality of the sushi is worth the price is debatable. the service there is ok. and there for i give this place 3.5-4 stars. read more

A clean quiet atmosphere, with private rooms as well. I loved the crazy boy roll but I do with they had more appetizers on their menu. All in all, still delicious food! read more

First and foremost the interior design of the restaurant is quite simplistic and nice to dine in. The servers did an amazing job giving you their attention in a kind manner. However, I personally thought their food was a bit overpriced for their quality of food especially. The rolls are very big and hard to eat and the sushi rice is very bland. There sushi (nigiri) is overpriced and the balance of it is not good nor bad and there miso soup wasn't very flavourful as in comparison to other restaurants I have been too. With that in mind, I have to give credit to their chicken teriyaki and tempura which were above my expectations. I could go on and on about their food but just to save you the time overall it it is a satisfactory restaurant with satisfactory food. You could get better sushi for your money. read more
