Service and ambiance is one thing, I cannot say much about the food other than the wings here are amazing. I tried them once and asked for crispy and they were amazing. I could not believe it so I did the same a week later and shared them with my wife. My favorite food are chicken wings; after trying many many different places in plainville like J tims, sliders. I have been a Plainville resident for almost 40 years and my family has had pizza from Village through the years. I have eaten the pizza from other owners but this new owner; past 2 years has been the better food. Unfortunately, the honesty and integrity of the staff leave something to be desired. Last night, February 10, I paid with cash. The girl rang me up and another worker was getting my order and I didn't realize, until I got home. that she never attempted to give me my CHANGE! I called the restaurant and told them what happened and I was told to come back; NO APOLOGY. I returned and the worker who originally helped me had his head down while the woman who took my money, $10.41, just handed me the money with no apologies for the oversight! It wasn't an oversight and she would have kept the money if I hadn't called! I was in the parking lot 2-3 minutes after picking up the order and there was no attempt to try and give me my change. 2/26/21 - We've been ordering from Village Pizza off and on for years. But today was the last time. We're done. The quality of the food has declined even more sharply than the prices have increased. Today was the last straw, no more chances. We ordered a pizza and two grinders: a (half) tuna, hot, and a (whole) cheeseburger. The tuna was cold. Hey, mistakes can happen, but this is a recurring theme. The Cheeseburger grinder "is served with cheese, lettuce, and tomato" according to the menu. Mine was ordered with Provolone cheese as the cheese option. The grinder was delivered with what looks like maybe a single, grey-ish patty (obviously from frozen) that had been spread out to try and cover the length of the whole grinder, a small amount of Provolone that had melted away..... and nothing else on it...at all... nothing (see photo... how appetizing, what value!). For this "cheeseburger grinder" Village Pizza charged me $10.99. If they would have bothered to put the toppings on it, they probably could have hidden the sparse amount of anemic burger to a degree, but I guess that was too much to ask. First, let me say that this place is one of Plainville's staple restaurants on a weekend. That being said we usually order every Friday night either pizzas or some of the great meatball grinders. But in the last month actually since they started updating their website we've had problems. One is of course the online ordering system that's been down. The second is calling in orders. I don't mind paying a little bit more when the food is actually really good. But I do have a problem with my order being wrong more then once and the food quality in my opinion has gone way down. Pizza pasta and salads There are bezillions of small pizza joints in Plainville and this one block must have at least a half dozen. Some are good, some not some good, but I guess it ultimately depends on the individual tastes of the person eating the pizza. Village Pizza is a small and kind of dumpy looking place from the outside. Certainly nothing about the building that is impressive or interesting but the inside is clean and nice enough, if somewhat spartan. The folks working there were efficient and pleasant if not exactly friendly. You get your pizza, pay and leave type of place. I suspect the vast majority of their business is take out. The menu is fairly large with lots of pizzas, pasta thingies, wings and salads. Nothing that really surprises you, pretty much what you would expect from a place like this. The veggie pizzas we ordered were quite good, not greasy and with lots of fresh veggies. Every sentient being in the universe probably has their own idea of what the perfect pizza is and and the very idea of the perfect pizza is probably an abstract idea that isn't obtainable in this reality. However if not perfect, everyone enjoyed the veggie pizzas and there were no complaints. Yes indeedy, there are a lot of pizza joints in this area and Village Pizza Restaurant is just one of the many. Certainly not perfect but it was good pizza, quick service at a good price. I'm not a huge fan of pizza from this area, but village is better than most I have tired. I prefer thin crust and they do that pretty well. Their sauce is good, and their delivery is on time. They are my go to for pizza. I haven't tried anything else on the Menu. read more

I ordered a small pepperoni pizza and appatizer calamari. Calamari arrived luke warm and BURNT. I called and they offered "an exchange". I was shocked but accepted as I could not eat the first order. Replacement came. It was hot but it tastes rubbery as if it was microwaved not crispy like fresh fried calamari is. If you haven't tried Village Pizza grinder, yet I recommend. Especially the meatball! The bread is so soft and moist. I've ordered from them for two recent 20+ people parties and they've fulfilled very well. This last time I wanted to order 8 grinders with the hope that I could use the Buy 3 get 1 free and get two for free.. she asked the manager and gave me 2 grinders for free. Plus they're party cheese pizza is better than others I have had. They Package the grinders great and were early or on time with delivery and everything was perfect and thoroughly enjoyed! read more

Decided to try this place for the first time - ordered over $40 worth of pizza. It took an hour and 15 minutes to arrive and when it got here it was ice cold. By the time they actually arrived it was too late for us to call and ask for new pizzas because by the time they would deliver again it would be after 9pm - no thanks. Called and asked for a refund and they said no, they could do a $5 credit. Why would I want a credit if I never plan to order from there again? Find another pizza place. Husky and Roma are 100 times better, just wanted to try something new. Big mistake. read more

Upon calling, the owner or whoever was on the phone gave me awful service and was very rude. This is not the first time that I've had poor customer service. He replied with a very sarcastic attitude to my questions and had the utmost worst customer service. The pizza is average at best. Not more than a hole in the wall Village pizza is one of a million pizza joints in Plainville . Although unimpressive looking Village is spotless inside and the family that owns this place are great. They take great pride in putting out good food from a spotless kitchen. My family loves there pizza, there salads are always fresh,and the grinder bread is bought local and daily(so it's nice and fresh). If I don't have a chance to pick up food and have to order delivery I'm always very surprised at how fast the delivery guy shows up... All in all my family and I love this lil place .. I like the thin crust, but in my opinion the taste is lacking. We ordered meatball & mushroom, it was ok. Sauce is peppery and the mozzarella was very mild. Tons of pizza joints in Plainville however this little hole in the wall place is the best I've had. I love the thin crust pizza, their baked ziti and garden salads. Food delivery is prompt and the prices are better than most places. Example: I can get 2 pizzas at Village for the same money I'd be charged for 1 pizza at another place. The owner of Village Pizza displayed a total disregard to the safety of the community. On Saturday afternoon I witnessed one of his drivers speeding and running a red light. If I didn't hesitate when my light turned green the driver could have killed me. I stopped by Village Pizza to let the owner know of his drivers reckless driving. Most business owners would have said thank you for letting me know, I will speak to him when he gets back. Not this guy. Instead he immediately became combative with me, raising his voice, and asking what I expected him to do about it. He told me to go tell it to the police. Wow the meanest people i have ever met. I got a gift certificate from a website to use at village pizza. I called to place an order to go but was told i had to come a sit to use the certificate. And that was true it did say on the certificate it was dine in only. But figure the place is pretty small what s the difference there still getting there money. So i finally got a chance to sit for lunch and once i walk in they see my paper and tell me it expired. But it clearly says on the certificate "Never Expires" They wouldn't do anything for me. So terribly rude. Worst customer service in Plainville. Ordered delivery and never got it. When I called to inquire the women first lied and said " I don't know where you called but it wasn't here"! After having to prove that we had in fact called them she stated "it was me who took the order but we can't deliver an order under $10". The customer service at this pizza place is terrible. Every time I get pizza delivered the pizza delivery guy's attitude is terrible. Not only that, but I am given an attitude when talking on the phone for simply asking questions about the menu. Their food is not the worst, but customer service goes a long way in whether you will return to a restaurant or not.
