The service at Village Fare Pizza House was good, but the atmosphere needs to be cleaner, I don't recommend going to eat lunch or dinner because I asked the staff at the register for a small Hawaiian Pizza and a small Mozzarella sticks, they messed up my order, when I got back to work, I opened the pizza box to enjoy my Hawaiian Pizza, I saw my pizza was an anchovies pizza, I didn't ordered an anchovies pizza, my order came to $31.00, in my opinion this isn't a reasonable price to pay for lunch, so I should have got my money back for the staff that messed up my order, I am going somewhere else to buy my lunch because when I do go to Village Fare Pizza House, they always find a way to mess up my order. read more

Food was amazing, I've dined here twice now and the second experience was equally as amazing as the first time. My first experience I ordered the Village Pizza was one of the better pizzas I've had. If you want fresh food at a reasonable price served by kind people then this is where you go. This is a no frills restaurant that focuses on serving great food in a friendly neighborhood environment. You could go to Garrison House and pay over $20 for a burger with decent service. Or, you can go here and get a fantastic burger cooked to order with fries and a drink for $12. Worst pizza by the slice I've ever had. As simple as that. Sat out too long, re-heated too long, greasy.

Went with a friend today after hearing this place got new ownership (it was pretty good before), and we couldn't have been happier! I had pizza with mushrooms and peppers; the dough was delicious and veggies fresh. My friend had the chicken sandwich and it was excellent. We were told by sweet server Chris that the chicken is sliced fresh everyday, and the pizza dough is carefully crafted old style. Service is quick and friendly. I have never experienced an empty mozzarella stick. Half a box! The slice of cheese was just bad. Frozen pizza taste better. My bf liked the sauce but it was just whatever to me. Came here for lunch on a weekday and ordered a steak bomb sub. Sandwich was very ok. It's definitely on the lower end of all the cheesesteaks I've had in Boston. The meat was just kind of bland and overcooked (for my tastes). After adding salt and pepper it was much better but still...idk why so many places in Brookline are afraid of using salt. The food used to be good, but lately, the food has been disgusting, and no one listens to what you want (they send whatever they want). The employees are slow, have a hard time listening, and can not take a correct order. The delivery took 90 minutes, and I live 10 minutes away. When he did show up, he was the nastiest person I have ever met, and he placed my food on the floor instead of handing it to me. That's why he didn't get a tip from me. Today, I ordered the chicken, Broccoli Alfredo Pasta, with Ziti. I asked to substitute the Broccoli for Spinch. What did I get? Broccoli. I asked for extra Alfredo sauce and was charged for it. What did I get? No sauce. The entire dish was dry. In my salad, I asked for banana peppers. What did I get? Nothing. To add to my experience, the delivery person wrote a $3 tip on the receipt. I took it off and called the manager of the store. He promised to make it up to me, but didn't say how or when. He got off the phone as quickly as possible. Let's see if he'll do something . I have been a loyal customer of the pizza shop for years. Because of my experiences, I believe it would be advantageous for me to try other pizza shops. I have been so disappointed, and have tried to work with them. Therefore, I give up. I have nothing good to report. Maybe I should only order subs.
