I have been meaning to check out PLNT Burger in Brookline. I was excited to see a place that offers vegan options. It has the feel of the classic fast-food chains but everything here is plant-based. Of course there are many other places where you can get "high quality" plant-based food, but I think it's great that there is a place where plant-based options are there when considering fast food. I went in during the evening wanting to check out the desserts. I was craving a soft serve and figured they had a vegan one, and they do! I ordered at the kiosk and by the time I finished, my soft serve was ready within a minute - talk about some speedy service! The soft serve met expectations. They offered vanilla, chocolate, or swirl. I got the swirl and was happy that the soft serve was creamy (oat milk based) and held it's own on a summer evening. Would definitely go back for this and to try out more of the menu. I didn't really engage much with employees besides picking up the order since I ordered at the kiosk, but that makes sense for a spin on a "fast food" chain type place. The inside of the store is pretty retro, which I think is fun. Great location and super easy to drop in, pick up (or dine in) with some good food, and go about your day exploring Coolidge Corner.

I went here for a quick lunch on a weekday and it surprised me a lot. There wasn't really anyone at the front register when I got there, but luckily they had a kiosk for me to place my order. I ordered the Plnt burger as-is and it came out pretty quickly - probably in less than 5 minutes! I was expecting something more vegetable-y, but it had a bouncy and spongy texture which wasn't unpleasant. It tasted like mushroom, and when I looked up what the patty was made of, it was a lot of soy with mushroom concentrate, so that made a lot of sense. I have to say, it didn't feel incredibly healthy, but it was very very tasty. The burger sauce, the caramelized onions, and the veggies all melded together really well and it was delicious. It was about $9 after tax though, which did feel a bit pricey for a single burger, but it was actually very good. When I looked up the other Yelp reviews, I was also pleased to learn that the restaurant isn't just vegetarian as well - it's vegan!

Great spot. What a great spot! Food is spectacular service is great and the ambience is super cute. Think shake shack but in it for the environment and way happier (way better)... Milkshakes are oat milk based (hallelujah) and the fries are crinkly and delicious. The maple mustard is a wonder and the burger was great too. Will be back!

Items ordered: Plnt burger with gluten-free bun, large fries Value: Pricing is a bit high for fast casual. GF modification was really pricey. Service: wonderful! The Review: For transparency, I came to their opening event, so all the food was free. I had the classic burger, which was delicious. The food came out fast. The fries were wonderfully crispy. Best of all, the staff were very kind and accommodating, even bringing me a gluten-free (bun-free) hot dog to try! I liked the array of sauces to choose from. Nice fast food vibes but with a plant-based twist. Mostly everything is good, but I do have to say that the pricing to make the burger gluten-free could be considered discriminatory, at around $4. The alternative is going without a bun, in which case you're not recompensated for foregoing the bun... Seeing as they make veganism and vegetarianism accessible (financially too), they should make gluten-free equally so, since they already have the ingredients to do it.

Nicely air conditioned and comfortable inside, we were seated at a small 4-person in the front room. I think that's where lunch is hosted, whereas further inside is a fancier dinner area. We decided to order 4 dishes family style: 1. Pepper garlic with beef, 2. Chili basil with tofu, 3. Yellow curry with veggies, and 4. Pad see ewe noodles with chicken. Our server was kind and attentive, constantly refilling our chilled water which was so refreshing after walking. Our meal was scrumptious and satisfying. We ate every last morsel. They were mildly spicy, in a pleasant way. The tofu was particularly tasty--I wish I knew the recipe! Only a minor critique is that the music was all terrible covers of popular music, it made us laugh. Highly recommend!

Noodles were chewy, quite enjoyed the meal. My friend got the pad kee mao with chicken. They didn't give me a bit more veggies, and the amount of veggies I had looked less than my friend's plate. I think they're not having very good portion control? $18.50 post-tax, decent portions.

TAKEOUT review * My…read moredaughter's friend recommended this place. Easy to order online. Keep in mind they are tapas so the quantity is smaller than an entree. There were 6 of us and we ordered 6 things, and fortunately we weren't ravenously hungry because otherwise we might've needed at least 3 more. We ordered mushroom salad, pad paa (a scrumptious concoction of veggies in sauce that comes with jasmine rice), crab fried rice, roasted brussel sprouts, grilled pork cheek, chicken ka praw. The order was ready for pickup within 30 minutes (which is what it predicted online). The food was freshly made, hot, ready to go at 8 p.m. and the staff were friendly and helpful. It looked like the customers there were having a fun time. We all really enjoyed every bite, particularly the pad paa with jasmine rice. It ended up being enough food for us as well.

The fried chicken skin was a standout. The crispy skin paired perfectly with a cold beer. The Pad Thai was also delicious, the Brussels sprouts were wonderfully crispy with a simple but flavorful seasoning, and the beef Massaman curry was rich and comforting--I'd definitely recommend ordering a bowl of rice to go with it. The pork cheek was incredibly tender and very filling. Not every dish was a hit, though. The crab fried rice was a bit disappointing. It was essentially regular fried rice with just a few pieces of crab sprinkled on top, so it didn't feel worth ordering. The crab curry was also a letdown. If you do order it, I'd recommend having it with rice instead of the rice noodles, as I think that would make it more enjoyable. Overall, the quality of the food and the excellent service made for a very enjoyable meal, and I'd happily come back to try more dishes.

If you have ever had a veggie burger and didn't like it, it was because you didn't eat here…read more To be honest there aren't a lot of vegetarian dishes that taste good for me, but everything they have here has been amazing. I say this because I have been here multiple times and everything I order or the people who are with me order, has always been amazing. Sometimes they have outdoor seating and we always sit outside if seating there is available, but this time they hadn't setup the outside yet, but they had plenty of seating for 2 inside. Another thing I mention on all my reviews is if a restaurant serves you water when you sit without asking. Well here they do and they were following our glasses as we were sitting. This is definitely a place to go to even if you aren't vegetarian.. actually especially if you aren't so you can find out how good some vegetarian dishes can be. The only downside for me is that I don't live in Cambridge or near by, but there are plenty of cheap parking garages near the restaurant and my favorite Korean grocery store is there.

The service was good, but it did take a bit to get seated and get our food as we were a large group. There was also a miscommunication for some people in our group as the kitchen ran out of some things and only told them after they ordered and were waiting. I ordered the grilled chicken Rasta pasta (which was a special for the week). My sister ordered some soup. Both were delicious. The portions are GIGANTIC so I would maybe order something smaller next time, but man that pasta was delicious. The "chicken" was perfectly fried, and the pasta was well seasoned. I would maybe add a bit of heat by it that's a small complaint. I love this place, and will be back next time I'm in Boston!

I'm so glad Uyghur cuisine has made its way to Boston…read more I was first introduced to it years ago at Silk Road in Cambridge, and I've been hoping more Uyghur restaurants would open ever since. Jahunger truly delivers. The restaurant immediately sets the mood. Candlelight, the scent of incense, traditional instruments on the walls, and pothos plants growing from mounted glass jars all make the space feel warm and inviting. One warning: unless you arrive around 6 p.m. or earlier, expect a wait. (It's popular.) Oh, and the food is worth it. The leek and egg dumplings tasted homemade in the best way: slightly rustic, fresh, and delicious. The hand-pulled noodles are the stars. Every noodle dish we ordered had the perfect chewy texture. My favorite was the Laghman noodles, though the Jahunger noodles were a close second with their rich spices and satisfying heat. The mee fen and stir-fried green beans both packed a respectable kick and leaned a little salty, but not enough to keep me from happily polishing them off. Don't forget the tea! It's beautiful to look at, filled with all sorts of ingredients (Chinese jujubes!), and only lightly sweet, which I appreciated. Then came the showstopping honey cake. The cake itself was fluffy, while the filling had a firmer, almost sticky texture with deep caramelized flavors that reminded me of burnt caramel in the best possible way. Paired with what tasted like coffee ice cream, it was the perfect ending to the meal. Jahunger is one of those restaurants that makes you want to come back before you've even paid the bill. I'm so glad Jahunger made it to Cambridge; the Boston food scene is richer because it's here.

We came in and the restaurant was filled with younger people who were hanging out. To start off we ordered lamb dumplings and scallion pancakes. I was familiar with both of these appetizers and they were the same as anywhere else. To eat, we ordered chicken stew. The waitress told us that one stew was spicy and the other was non spicy. We decided to order the non-spicy one since others were not big fans of spice. When we received the food it was very spicy. It was hard to eat and we did not enjoy it. The waitress came back and thought we wanted the spicy chicken stew which was incorrect. She apologized and wanted to switch it. At this point we were running late so it didn't matter.
