    PHILLY CHEESESTEAK - Steak Cheesesteak
    Megan Z.

I visit Boston every year for my medical needs at BCH & Mass Gen/Brigham. I've been in the Longwood Galleria many times, I've been coming to Boston for 20+ years. Believe it or not, I've NEVER tried a Cheesesteak in my life. Being from Chicago, we don't have Cheesesteaks. Here, it's about the Italian Beef Sandwich. Two VERY different, yet delicious sandwiches. After a long medical day, I strolled into the Longwood Galleria to scout out dinner to take back to my hotel room. The Longwood Galleria is basically a giant food court. The first place that caught my eye was Charley's. I figured there is no better time than now to try the cheese steaks! I ordered Charley's Original & Classic Steak Philly Cheesesteak. I also added an order of Charley's "Ultimate Fries". Their hand-cut fries are freshly fried and topped with cheese sauce, ranch, and bacon crumbles. They're so good you'll refuse to share! Be sure anyone with you gets their own order! The bread was delicious and soft. The steak inside was cooked perfectly. It was tender, delicious, and seasoned perfectly. No chewy/fatty/gristly pieces- which is what my worry was. It was so good I ordered them in for delivery again a few days later to my hotel. The food portion for the money is outstanding. Everything is hot, fresh, accurate, & packaged properly. Delivery is fast and hot. As a Chicagoan, I have to say the Italian Beef is still King. However, the cheese steak did not disappoint!

They charged my card almost 200 for 1 sandwich. And charged multiple times over several days this is just one picture I wasn't even there yesterday. Nashua New Hampshire

Not a bad cheesesteak in my opinion. I ordered a small combo. It comes with fries and a drink, total cost 9.54 with a specialty drink, strawberry lemonade, and regular fries. They take cards. Order at the register and walk down to pick up your food at the end. You can add typical sandwich toppings to any sandwich at no additional cost. Comes with ketchup in packets, you can grab mustard, any other condiment you have to ask for at the end. At first i was a bit disappointed by the way the meat, cheese, onions, peppers, mushrooms looked inside the sandwich, it looked too small, like i would just be eating a bread sandwich... Turned out ok. Tasted good and it was filling. Fries were crisp thick cut but not steak fry size. The best was the strawberry lemonade. The strawberry syrup they add to the lemonade makes it almost too sweet, but it was real strawberries in it. This place is recently opened, when the lines get longer they're going to have to corral the line somehow to organize how a customer gets to one of the two registers.

I haven't tried a Charley's since moving to Boston. The setup is a little different than the one in Hawaii on Schofield Barracks. The one in Schofield has the grill up front. You talk to the cook as he prepares your sandwich. This one, the grill is in back. My wife loves their iced teas with fruit at the bottom. The Philly Cheesesteak was pretty good. The service was friendly. They forgot the paper napkins in the bag, which is my only negative. Otherwise, it was a good experience.

This place was recommended to me by my coworkers for a quick bite. They kept the menu simple and visible right in front so I chose what was obvious and went for the steak and cheese. The service was quick when it came to heating up the meat on the grill. My bread from the steak and cheese sub was nicely toasted as well so whole combination tasted was pretty decent for food on-the-go. It's just a little messy but I guess that's Philly cheese steak for ya!

I asked the grille guy if he was serious when he gave this cheese steak. It didn't taste too bad for mostly being bread.

Chutney's in the Longwood Galleria Food Court is such a gem!…read more I mean I've only had their samosas before but they were so good. I used to go at least once a week in between classes to get samosas from here. I'd definitely come back to try their other dishes like Chicken tikka masala and lamb curry. The staff is always so sweet and kind. One of the reason why I keep coming back, honestly!! Parking: honestly very tough to find parking in the Longwood Area. A couple of the major hospitals are right here, so it's mostly parking garages. The galleria does have its own plaza though too! If you're willing to walk 5 min, you may be able to find parking in Misson Hill area.

Fairly new stall, been there for…read moreabout a year, but I never gave it a try as it's something different from your typical food court fare and well...I don't think I've ever seen anyone order from there. Was getting tired of the McD's and Subways so I finally gave Chutney's a go. So far I've had their Tikka Masala wrap and Chutney's chicken rice bowl. I like how you have the option of choosing how you want your meal to be- either in a rice bowl, a wrap, or in a nanini (panini-look a like). You also have the option of choosing chicken or lamb which is pretty fancy. Even though Chutney's is Indian food, it still has the fast food assembly line element. Once you choose your style of meat doused in curry, then you're prompted in choosing what vegetables you'd like sprinkled on there and what additional sauce you want. It's like the Subway of Indian food. Their chicken I've had so far is too dry for me, but I don't know if that's just how it's done with Indian curry (I rarely eat Indian food). The curry on the other hand is flavorful. Their rice is really fragrant and reminds me of Thai white rice. You really don't need to add any additional sauce when they prompt you to choose once because the flavoring from the curry itself is just fine. Drinks wise, I tried their home-made mango lassi and it's so good! Mango lassi is a mango-yogurt drink and I loved how you could really taste the mango and the thickness of it all. Chutney's is a little pricey in comparison to the other stalls. With a meal and a drink, it'll cost you an average of $7-9, but the meal itself is very filling and something refreshingly different when everything else is starting to get old.

Being in such a busy area means it can get really crowded, and parking around Fenway is famously tough, so planning for takeout or delivery through their app might save you some hassle. The core of the meal is the crispy chicken tenders or sliders with that signature spicy rub. It starts mild at the lower levels but has a significant ramp. Starting at "Medium" is where you really begin to feel the tingling burn, and it jumps dramatically from there to the "Extra Hot" and "Reaper" levels. The Dave's Sauce is the perfect creamy, cooling companion to cut through that heat The chicken can sometimes be on the drier side, though the generous sauce helps. The crinkle-cut fries are a solid side, and their thick milkshakes are a popular choice for putting out the fire if you overestimate your spice tolerance. It's a solid, no-frills spot for a crave-worthy spicy chicken fix. Just know your spice level, expect a crowd (especially around game time), and have a plan for parking.

I ordered a sandwich and a chicken tender and wish that I got two sliders, it was so good! The chicken is super tender and juicy, it comes with a sauce and slaw that is fantastic and the pickles cool down the heat balancing everything out. My son ordered the mini sliders and he got jealous when he saw my regular sandwich. The slider is a full size sandwich and the mini's are bite size.

The chips and pico de gallo also was $4.50 and the amount of chips was enough for an entire plate of nachos. I was definitely full after this. Chips and pico de gallo - pretty standard. The chips felt like chips from a bag instead of freshly made which would have put this over the top, but there were a LOT of chips. The pico de gallo could have been bigger for the price, but it was enough to eat maybe half of the chips and the rest I ate with the burrito. Grilled chicken burrito - I got this with pico de gallo, sweet peppers, Mexican rice, chimichurri sauce, cheese, lettuce, pinto beans, and marinated onions and the fillings were great. The chicken was moist and the flavors really melded together well, but the tortilla was a bit strange - it was pretty soggy, slimy, and a little bit gummy which was not like any tortilla I've had before in a burrito. However, it wasn't bad. It was a strange texture but it was flexible enough to hold the ingredients which were a bit wet as a whole, and it didn't rip, so I can't say too much bad about it. It didn't affect the test much but the texture was a little weird. Still, the sweet peppers were an awesome touch and there was a good ratio of meat to other ingredients. Is it the best burrito I've ever had? No. But getting full for $8.95 is pretty rare nowadays, so I'd definitely stop by here again.
