Waited for 25 minutes with my feet in the water, and when they started, it took maybe 10 minutes from start to finish. I got a regular pedicure and they did not even rub the lotion all the way in. He was on the phone for the majority of the time, scheduling other clients. Skipped a few steps that a pedicure should have, like pushing my cuticles down or fully filing my nails. Polish work was shoddy. I hate posting negative reviews but honestly this is one of the worst pedicures I've ever gotten :( Salon was seemingly clean though so that's a plus! read more

I found this spot randomly after 2 of my nails split half way across the middle of the nail. It literally happened the day after I just got them done too. My normal salon was closed on Tuesday's and I knew there was no way I was going to be able to keep the nail from breaking completely if I had to wait a whole other day. I walked in around 6:15pm and was greeted by the owner. I told her that I had just gotten my nails done but two of them were splitting. I asked if she could possibly only fix the 2 nails that were broken. She was so friendly and didn't waste a moment letting me know she was going to fix me right up! And she did an amazing job! She dipped my nails in the powder to seal the crack and help the nails heal. The original color I had on my nails wasn't available here BUT she chose an excellent accent color that matched beautifully! She even painted the 2 nails on my other hand so they matched! She went above and beyond and my nails! I didn't catch her name but we had a great conversation about her business and her other location just down the road. I will 100% be coming back here for my next mani/pedi!!! read more

This shop is under new management and clean and pretty. The location of the salon is excellent, near Harris Teeter, UPS, and Wells Fargo. There is a delicious boba tea shop (Quickly) next door. The work is decent however they stopped doing gel x which kind of sucks. Also the guy who did my nails was very aggressive and just not welcoming. He seemed to be in a hurry. The rest of the staff are fantastic tho! Also a women came in with her daughter requesting a refund and the guy basically got in a screening match with her instead of giving them a refund. Horrible. Awful. Do not come here. He was drilling my nails and cut me so badly and then tried to keep going as I continued to tell him I wanted to leave. He told me it was my fault that he cut me. I got a mani and pedi here- it was my first visit to this place which is conveniently located right in Meadowmont. They did an okay job despite trimming my finger nails way too short and nipping my cuticle. (see picture.) I actually said "ouch!" when the lady cut it and then it started to bleed. She then applied some glue-stuff and a cotton ball to try to stop the bleeding. Not a big deal because this stuff happens but then she trimmed my nails (especially thumbs) way too short. Just annoying to not have any overhang. I will not go back here since she just didn't seem to be very careful and I have had better. I'm very picky about the way my gel tips are applied and maintained, and I am very happy with the way Spike does my nails. It's easy to get an appointment, there's always plenty of parking, and the place is pretty clean. I give four stars instead of five because I don't really understand their pricing--gel tips are only a bit more expensive than gel polish (no tips), and it seems that the gel polish should be much less expensive because it's much less time and work (or so it seems). read more

I have personally never written a bad review for anyone. However, I was really pissed off when their partner started making up charges for waxing which were no where mentioned in their menu. Upon questioning, I was argued by using the fact that she is a partner and can price whatever/whenever. I am not sure about nails but I will never use them for waxing. There are far better waxing centers around the area and please take your business to some other place. I hope that your experience is good if you decide to stick with these guys. read more

11/28/2011 They use Gelish and OPI: Axxiom. I was advised to get Spike to do my nails. I tried to get him to do my nails as a walk in and I was told that he works between 10AM and 3PM so I would need to come back the next day. Well today is the next day and it is my birthday so I may go back. 11/29/2011 I did go back for he 10:00AM appt. I was the only customer getting my nails done? Parking was tight. Luis had to drop me off at the door, and then go look for a parking space. Spike is a quiet man. He is really not much of a conversationalist, but he is very neat about doing nails. He is a perfectionist. He has a unique technique of polishing just the thumbnails then putting them under the gel lite, then the last (2) nails, and then the middle ones. He used Gelish for the base and top coat. I got OPI's Happy Anniversary color. it is clear with finer sparkles than Gelish. I liked the larger Gelish sparkles. OPI colors come in a pot and the technician uses his own brush. The one thing that I had reservations about Spike's technique is that he used the electric drill to buff the top layer of my existing gel off, then he soaked them in acetone and scraped them. I am used to the acetone and foil for removal. This salon does not offer wine or water, but I did get an awesome price. You can either get the gel lite with a manicure or without. The salon is in a very nice upscale e area. While the other nail techs did not have customers they sat around and chit-chetted and watched movies on the computer. I think their time would be better spent on the phone asking customers to come in and have their nails done. read more

Went in towards the end of the day for a pedicure. Despite my coming in late, they did not rush me whatsoever. I went with the rose pedicure because it includes a paraffin wax treatment. This pedicure is $45. I thought it was very nice and the rate is comparable to, if not less than, other deluxe pedicures in the area. The woman spent a very long amount of time massaging my feet and legs. She did a wonderful job on the polish as well. The staff was professional & polite, and I could see everything was very clean. I don't typically write reviews, but in this case I really don't want people to have to go through what I had to deal with, so here I am. I went to Village Nails Spa to get a dip powder manicure with tips - my first time ever getting any kind of nail extension, but I did my research and my friend's mom owns a nail salon, so I knew that dip was what I wanted for longevity and the health of my nails. I got my nails done by the manager of Village, and I verbally confirmed with him multiple times that dip powder was what I wanted. The manicure was extremely rushed and sloppy. He cut two of my fingers with the nail file to the point of bleeding and didn't say anything about it, he made the extensions way longer, thicker, and pointier than I asked, he left a HAIR (that was not mine) trapped in one of the nails, and he did the cuticles last, so there was a huge gap between where my cuticles ended and the nail extension began. They looked like someone had glued candy corn to my nails and painted them beige. I was confused when he brought out the nail polish, because from my understanding, if you request a certain color dip manicure, they use a dip powder that is that color - no colored polish should be needed. I assumed that I was just ignorant of the process and went along with it. When I went to pay, it was $75 without tip, despite a dip manicure with tips only being $55 on the website. But none of this is even the worst part. I was so unhappy with my nails that I went to get them fixed at a different salon the next day, and they told me that the manage of Village had lied and had actually not given me a dip manicure. I went back to Village to speak to the manager - something I would normally NEVER do, but I was so upset and wanted answers and potentially a refund. I explained gently that I wasn't super happy with my nails and went to get them fixed, and that I was confused because I had asked for a dip manicure but the other salon told me that's not what I had received. The manager made a huge show in front of all of his customer and staff, telling me that I had not asked for dip but instead asked for acrylic with gel. When I replied that I had verbally confirmed multiple times that I wanted dip nails, he changed his story and said that since I'm a nurse he wanted to give me the best manicure for my job, making up a story about how dip nails break easily (which is a total lie) and since I work in healthcare he wanted to give me something that would last longer. He made a big show of saying that the other salon was scamming me and trying to get my money, which is, in fact, what HE was doing. Acrylic is much, much cheaper than dip, so charging me $75 for a manicure that a) should've been WAY cheaper and b) was not what I asked for, is absolutely ridiculous. I was so humiliated and stressed that I just agreed in order to get out of there and then went back to my car and cried. Please, for your own sake, do NOT go to Village. read more

This place was great and well mantained! The service was friendly and quick. There was no foreign language accent barrier as well as no foreign language gossip. The price for my pedicure was outstanding; $35 with a paraffin wrap (I usually see that for $45). I will go back without question! A quick note about parking, since this location is more of the block/storefront type (not a strip mall with miles of parking lot) you may not get a spot right up front, but there is lots of parking around the block(s). read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Please see the picture of my nails attached to this review to see why. Never in my life have I had a gel manicure that looked this bad. The filing was the first disaster. He was filing with no order at all, scuffing my nails and fraying them. Then, he started hastily and sloppily painting my nails, getting it all over fingers, missing spots, painting all over my cuticles, and sometimes painting HORIZONTALLY to get missed areas. I kept trying to wait it out and give him the benefit of the doubt, but after my left hand had set and still looked horrible, and he started painting in the same hasty manner on my right hand, I told him to stop because I was not paying for a manicure that looked like this. Seriously, a five year old could do better. I was so upset that they would treat a paying customer with such nonchalance. He removed the polish from my right hand but told me it would be $10 or whatever to remove the set gel with foils from my left hand! Why should I have to pay for his mistake? The other manicurists offered to help me fix it on the way out, but I was so upset and disgusted by how I was treated thus far that I had no interest in staying. Additionally, the place was EMPTY. This was the worst service ever. I was charged $29 for a 20 minute pedicure. The woman beside me received a 45 minute pedicure. Virtually no exfoliation and walking out with still cracked heels. When I quietly expressed my concern to the manager she accused me of trying to just get a service for free and told me if I wanted a free service I could go somewhere else. She refused to give me contact information for owner. She then initiated conversation with two other customers about me while I was sitting in the salon and told them I was just trying to get a free service.
