My one and only experience at Lee Nails was awesome. The place was quiet at 4pm and there was zero wait. I came in with a picture of what I wanted and asked if they could duplicate it. The owner thought about it, said she'd give it a try, and was transparent about the fact that she hadn't done it before. She helped me pick out colors, tested the opacity before we got started, and gave me a fast, but careful, manicure that turned out great! I also liked that she let me drift in-between making polite small talk, and reading on my phone - it was friendly but not forced. Other pros include the price (12$ for mani +10$ for "nail art") and I could leave a tip on my card, no cash necessary. Time will tell when it comes to the staying power of the polish, but for that price and the good service, I'm sure I'll be back. UPDATE: I've now been back several times. Each time I've had remarkably attentive and exceptional customer service - including the time I brought a very squirmy, grumpy child to get her first manicure. They truly bend over backwards to please and accommodate. However, the reason I took away a couple stars was that the manicures just don't last. Mine have started chipping within 24 hours and by day three I can barely tell I've had my nails done at all. Still a bargain if you want a quick, pretty manicure for a same-day event, but not if you need it to last. read more

I am so happy to have found this salon. I called ahead and went in around 5 and was seated immediately. There were only 3 employees working there so I would definitely recommend calling ahead, someone who came in after me did have to wait for like 20 minutes. I got a full set of acrylics with extensions for 30$ without tip, which seemed pretty cheap for Chapel Hill. My nail stylist listened to what I wanted and my nails turned out beautifully. I had an amazing experience. I was a lunch walk in. Thank goodness for the awful weather I sat right down. The guy was very patient with me as I wanted my old acrylic soaked off and not ripped off. I also started off wanting a manicure and changed my mind and got an acrylic overlay. He did offer gel but wasn't pushy after I told him I had a bad experience at a different salon with it. He honored my wishes and my nails turned out amazing! He was very kind, quick and their pricing is amazing!!! My soak off and redo was just shy of an hour. Just left this place. I went in for a manicure with gel polish. The manicure was extremely fast and she only filed my nails and started painting. I assumed that she was going to finish the rest of the manicure after the polish dried but this was not the case. As soon as it was done she said "finished" so I assumed she would only charge me for the polish. It came time to pay so I pulled out a Lee nails gift card which I received for Christmas. I know it's a couple months away now but I had a baby and haven't been able to get out to a salon. The woman then said she would have to get somebody to help with the card because she didn't know how to use it. She called a man to help her and he said they couldn't take the card because they now have a new owner and I would have to go to my bank to get a receipt to bring in and they would reimburse me for the card after they saw that I actually bought it. I told them I couldn't do this because it was a gift and that I didn't even get a complete manicure so are they charging me full price? He told me he wasn't the owner the woman I was speaking to was the owner and I would have to talk to her again if I'm not happy so I said bring it on! She came back and nicely and quietly I told her that I don't think my manicure was complete I didn't even have lotion or anything. She said "oh I forgot the lotion" and then proceeded to put it on my hands. I told her that I would still have to pay with the gift card. She said "no, you have to pay cash and will reimburse you when you get a receipt." I told her that I'm not paying cash because I have a gift card. She said "well what do you want me to do about it" and I said I would like for you to honor this gift card to your business. She then snatched the card from my hand through it behind the counter and said "there now I will did your nails for free!" To which I replied you did not, because I had a gift card. Anyway, I let her keep the card although I'm pretty sure it still had money on it for a pedicure. I won't be going back, and neither will the person that walked out behind me when they saw the horrible customer service. If she hadn't made a scene and honored the gift card she would have kept two customers instead of losing two. Not to mention she's worked and owned the place for 16 years! They definitely know what they are doing when it comes to nails and nail art! My manicure lasted 10 days before it started to chip and the pedicure I got is still decent after 25 days. I highly recommend them and will be going back again. read more

They were nice folks...but the work the guy did on me could've been better. I told him I felt I had an ingrown toenail that if he could please check it and ended up just badly poking the corners of my toes I had to stop him from doing it to my other toe (they're both now hurting more than when I came in) although I told him it was just that one toe. Other nail techs usually cut that skin under my toe with the nipper or scrub good but he did neither and ended up scrapping the corner of ny toes feet/toes touch and they're still really red and hurting a little from that. I believe that foot grater is banned from being used for those particular reasons.my heels are so rough and they're never touch. It was almost a $40 pedicure I expected the massage to be longer but was roughly (I counted) 28 seconds and the scrub was only scrubbed for 6 seconds. Also as you can see badly polished and some toes aren't polished completely and with lot of cuticle left on them. He also tried to wash of the mask!!!! It's supposed to be wrapped with a hot towel I had to let him know to please not wash it. I don't know I just felt that for $40 it should've been better work/service. read more

Went here to get my eyebrows waxed and the lady took too much off the top of my eyebrows. The look uneven and 2 different shapes. She even got some of the wax in my hair . She did offer to fix them but I declined...didn't want her to do more damage. This is what happens when you let new people touch your eyebrows. I've had mani/pedi's in other places that spend more time on the process. My foot rub/scrub was barely noticeable. My toes looked good ones they were done and the design was nice. The color I picked for my gel manicure was really light...and she didn't care to spend several costs the make the color even...so it's splotchy and you can see through my nail. She even missed a big corner on my thumb. Manicure was nothing but a cuticle soaker. No hand rub, no lotion, and she barely picked away the dead skin in my cuticles. Not impressed. read more

I paid $30 for a gel nail manicure.The place was clean. It wasn't busy at all, and they saw me quickly. I had to show the manicurist how to remove cuticles and how to file. In 25 years I've never had an experience like this . The strange part is I went to this salon twice a year ago and had a positive experience. So I don't know what happened. My advice if you do go: don't hesitate to ask for your money back. read more

I can't leave a review as to the end result because I can't even get in for a pedicure. The front of the salon says "Appointments and Walk-Ins Welcome". Last Friday I arrived shortly after they opened. There weren't enough employees in yet to service the few of us who were there. When I asked an employee how long it would be he said that he didn't know when other employees were coming in for work. So, I called today for an appointment. The employee said, "We don't take appointments today." They advertise that they close at 7:00 so I arrived at 6:20 hoping to see someone as a walk-in. They were closed. Way too much trouble to get a simple pedicure. I won't be trying this salon again. read more

I get my acrylics at Lee's. She always does them exactly how I ask her and they look fabulous! They're much cheaper then anywhere else and there's never a wait. The atmosphere is nice and it smells like sweets because of the panaderia next door. I've been to a lot of places for acrylics and Lees does them the best. read more

I normally don't write reviews, but I could have done my own nails better than they did. I got a gel manicure and not only did they not paint my entire nail (which is a major pet peeve of mine), they gelled my nail to my skin. Even though they spent more time clearing the polish from my skin than actually painting my nails. There was also polish on my skin after they finished, which I wouldn't have expected given the amount of time they spent trying to remove it. My pedicure was okay. Again, polish on the skin even though they "removed" it. They also didn't have matching gel and regular polishes, so if you're looking for a matching mani-pedi you might not get it. I got something close enough, but it is still bothering me. I will have to go to another place to fix their mistakes, because I can't tolerate them. read more
