Great chicken a la vodka pie but the Spanish artichoke has undercooked artichokes in it. Completely ruins the pizza.

I was on a dinner run for Dennis & me. Villa Monte & Pete the Greek are in the same Old Bethpage shopping center where the Post Office is located. I stopped​ at Pete the Greek for my dinner order and went on to Villa Monte for 2 slices of the tomato & cheese pizza. This was my first visit to both places. Villa Monte is much larger than I expected. It has a separate dining and pizza area. The was a huge selection of pizzas. At home, Dennis ate the two slices of tomato & cheese pizza but he still loves La Piazza's pizza. I loved my pork gyro at Uncle Pete's which you will have to read about on their site. read more

One of the worst experiences I ever experienced in a restaurant or pizzeria. Food was cold, the pasta was as hard as a rock and cold and when I tried to return it they tried to charge me for it and told me I ate it. The principle is not the price of the food it's making me pay for something that was horrible. I toldher to take it and throw it in the garbage because that's what I was going to do if I took it home. Have had several lunches at this location. For a quick slice of pizza Villa Monte is an excellent choice because there is a wide selection of pies and the restaurant is spacious, clean, and inviting. My slice of stuffed eggplant for $4 today was very filing not to mention delicious, lots of eggplant, ricotta and mozzarella in one slice. Service is quick, staff is friendly and all the pies essentially taste as good as they look. They are also very accommodating about made to orders for salads and sides. Today she gave me the wrong lunch order, and after waiting for the correct lunch order, she had a waiter come by the table and ask for $1.50. She made the mistake, and expected me to get up in the middle of eating for $1.50. She made the mistake, and should have let it go. Now after coming here for over a year ever week on lunch breaks, I don't think I will return. Hope it was worth the $1.50 to lose several regular customers over your mistake. I was with 5 work colleagues that thought it was a poor management decision and they too said they will not be coming back. Food: The food is hit or miss. Somedays the pizza is great, other days I've had to return pizza (calamari slice) because it was rotten. Some days the meatballs have a great flavor, other days very bland. As other reviewers have said, food sits out all day. The slice you see at 12 noon is still sitting there at 9pm. So if on the chance you get a day when things go right at Monte's then your in for some good pizza. Went close to lunch so line picked up quick.. shrimp scampi was very good was a lil scared to try it but happy I did .. my fiancé ordered the buffalo calamari and the old fashioned vodka slice .. he said he enjoyed it I don't like calamari so I didn't try it looked interesting tho .. decent sizes for the price .. A group of about 9 of us went there after a day long picnic at Bethpage Park. We all ordered with the exception of one, hero's. Two people ordered hero's without the bread. For this they were charged two dollars more. When brought to their attention they said it was a bigger portion. It was not and they never informed us that that we'd be charged more for no bread. I wish I could give this place a negative 5 star. If you want to be treated like crap go here. I came here with my 2 year old boy for lunch today. We ordered our pizza and sat down to wait for it. My son was swinging his feet and Lightly hitting the baseboard of the wall. While in Melville on business with 2 associates we asked our hotel bartender where local people go for good Italian. The recommendation of Villa Monte was spot on! Though this is clearly a specialty Pizza place, the three of us went for the traditional Italian menu items though. sauteed calamari with linguini! Lasagna! A terrific tasting house Chianti. Most of the people giving this low scores aren't ordering the right stuff. Like other reviewers have said this is a place you go to for specialty slices... don't bother with their regular slice. Their old fashioned slice and buffalo slices are bomb. Also the rigatoni slice is very good. Great pizza! One of my favorite places to visit for a Friday lunch. Each Friday they have their own seafood pizza's such as shrimp scampi, baked clam, calamari, everything you could think of. When it comes to pizza near work this place really is the best I've had. A large variety of slice options and combinations that is second to none of pizzeria's I have been too. Last time I was there I had a Sweet and Spicy Calimari slice which was a little messy but absolutely delicious with the perfect mix of sauce and calamari. They bank on having a large variety on top of their pizzas. I when and got a crazy looking slice, and a normal slice. The normal slice was bad. So I don't suggest getting "normal" pizza there. Nice place, was nice and quiet. My partner and I were the only customers in the restaurant half. We had just commented how nice and quiet it was when a staff member from the pizza side came and put on a big screen TV rather loud. He did not consult with us which would have been courteous since we were the only ones there at the time. I didn't go to watch sports - that's what sports bars are for. Went to enjoy a good meal in a pleasant surroundings but unfortunately that wasn't the case either. My partner ate chicken picata which he seemed happy enough with. I ordered vegetables with marinara which was way too greasy and nothing special. When the bill came, we were charged an extra $2 for fettucine which I was not informed was the case when I ordered. We were not told in advance that there would be a surcharge for paying by credit card nor were we given the opportunity to pay with cash. the card was processed before we could add a tip which forced us to leave a cash tip. I ate the baked ziti pizza, it was DELICIOUS. The pizza is hard to pick up with all the pasta on it, but you can cut little pieces or you can eat some of the pasta off of it then eat it.
