The View is named perfectly, it has a stunning and best "VIEW" of the Great South Bay. The food is delicious and the drinks are mixed perfectly, one of the most authentic Long Island Ice Teas I've had in a long time.. simply right on point as I remember from OBI in the 80's. The VIEW has a beautiful large deck,to dine on their magnificent food selections and boat slips to pull up with your boat. Large interior dining room as well with a separate bar area to enjoy a decent Happy Hour. Waitstaff were fantastic as well and very friendly and professional. Every Sunday they offer a champagne brunch , reservations recommended. If you want to feel as though you're on vacation without leaving Long Island, this is definitely the place to check out Highly recommend

Fresh Baked Pull Apart Rolls

First time, popped in for a cocktail and a light lunch, today / Sunday afternoon. Arrived at 1:45 , was told service didn't start until 2:00. No biggie , sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful view of the water and boats. At 2:00 we got seated in the semi outdoor area which is what we wanted . It was too chilly for outside but too nice to eat inside. Started with blueberry lemonade (a little too light on the vodka imo) and crispy Thai calamari . The calamari were delicious, Crispy and tender . We then ordered Lobster bisque and fresh baked pull apart rolls. The bisque was very flavorful and The rolls were great with the soup . The only one thing that I can say that was a complete turn off was the fact that every so often along with the breeze , we would get the smell of a moldy dirty dish rag. We realized It was our table! We noticed that even though they are very diligent in cleaning the tables, ours was a bit dirty , they use Windex and the same dirty dish rag over and over again. The dishrag is what smelled . That only spreads bacteria and stench all over the table. With that being said, I will go back to view. The food was good, the service was good and the view was great.

Great happy hour menu! Had good apps and the drinks were great! Service was a little slow due to the fact a wedding was going on at the same time and the bar was full! Super cute spot by the water, I will definitely be returning for some more this summer.

An absolutely beautiful setting, a great place for special occasions and this time it was for my birthday. We sat outside under a covered patio with amazing views of the ocean. A perfect summer night. Cocktail was excellent, food was good . One negative is that they are not as flexible as I would expect for fine dining and accommodating special diets. Like no real substitutions for a vegetable that someone cannot eat. Our server was very good however and she tried. There is a very nice indoor dining room and full bar as I'm sure there are lots of weddings, showers etc. but on a summer night, ya gotta be outside! Not much effort for a birthday like some places have, which is ok. Parking lot is convenient.

Perfect night for a birthday celebration outdoors in the covered patio. I haven't reviewed this place in a while. My four stars was generous because the service was a really a three star for us. We started off by ordering cocktails my sangria was not good so I sent it back immediately. The other cocktails lacked alcohol but we didn't say anything. On to the appetizer which we got the Ahi tuna bowl and the crab cake, Caesar Salad the salad was so dry & we never saw the waitress for more dressing. Then we ordered rolls which were $6 for four rolls. We were a party of 5 and ask for another one we would pay and she wouldn't add an additional roll after spending $500. Now for dinner we had the Lobster Roll (warm) it was amazing. Branzino was fresh but on drier side. Burger was supposed to be medium rare and it wasn't at all. Steak was supposed to be cooked the same way but was cooked medium plus instead of medium rare. Waitress came over and said it was perfect. Maybe for her but not for someone who eats it rare. She made him feel awkward about it and ate it anyway because he was hungry. The olive oil lemon cake was more like a cupcake wasn't wowed by it. Best thing was the lava cake it was the perfect way to end the night.

Great water view.

Great water view with nice outdoor dining. Will need to try the happy hour next time.

Excellent restaurant. Amazing views and vibes. Our server Jaylan was very attentive and sweet despite being kept super busy. The cocktails were great and seafood was fresh and tasty. Will definitely be back!

I sat at the bar for happy hour. The oysters were fresh and delicious. I opted for a burger with fries, which was perfect. The bartender was sweet and attentive. The low background music at the bar gave a good vibe.

I don't believe so, the prices seem to remain the same

Good morning. Unfortunately, Coindre Hall does not offer brunch. We do recommend Hatch in Huntington Village.…

Do you have local seafood on the menu?

Absolutely. We serve oysters harvested from Fire Island and Littleneck clams pulled fresh from the Great South Bay. Lobster from Montauk is featured in the Grand Seafood…

What are you vegetarian options?

The are some great options some already on the menu and others that the Chef can compose for you. Please call View directly for more information, 631.589.2694. www.ViewOakdale.com…

Is it necessary for men to wear suits at early September 12:30 wedding?

Yes at least a blazer would be appropriate

What's the attire for this place?

Nice but casual attire to dressy. (May sound odd but being waterside with an outdoor patio it needs to be noted: No tank tops, bathing suits. Foot wear is a must.)

It was literally outstanding in every way. We ordered 2 coconut margaritas which were awesome! We started with shrimp on the skewer and the filet mignon bites with wontons for appetizers which is a must! The only downside was that it's winter and we are smack in the middle of back to back literal blizzards and we went at night so we couldn't see any of the view. But believe me, I will definitely be back to make it all right. Every once is a while, for one of my sisters' birthdays we will hold a psychic night. This time, we saw that Snapper Inn was having a psychic night with dinner, so we decided to let them do all the work. I called over a month ahead and spoke with Jim, who was the loveliest man. He gave me all the details and I told him I would call back when I have an official head count. The psychic dinner came with a prix-fixed 3 course meal and a 15 min reading. The menu was amazing. I got the winter salad and the shrimp oreganota while ending up with the banana bread pudding. Everything was top notch, from the private set up with our reading, to the round table they sat the 7 of us at. The service was out of this world and Caroline made sure everything was done perfect. The most important thing is that my sister very much enjoyed everything. And being that this is a family owned business, according to Jim, I was proud to celebrate my family with them. I hope we can do it again.

My broiled seafood platter had no flavor. Plus waited 45 minutes for our food after ordering. It was busy but not overcrowded. I didn't bother telling server - she was nice. No reason to go back this summer! Way to many great restaurants around to try it again.

Interior is nice with lovely arranged flowers on the Piano and the tables setup was fine for the special 30th business event that I went to. 2 workers/ I found very kind and supportive. Christopher was at my side checking to see that I had each thing I needed. The other young lady at the bar area in the front, lent me paper and pen to write up a draft before entering it into the event Guest Book. The setup of tables was sufficent and there were window sill spots to place various gifts that people brought. As for the food at this given event, it was a buffet style with a big range of different things to eat with small cups of butter on the table for bread. I supspect the chef and kitchen people like to add a lot of salt to their foods. As I myself do like salt, it was ok. The dessert, (my favorite part) was very fresh and tasty especially that chocolate cake. While I only had the one piece of it, I could easily have eatten more. Oddly; my coffee cup had what I want to say is, bubbles in it. Like when oil and water don't mix. It tasted ok so I guess it was not soap. The other thing I noticed is that the waiters were -TOO MUCH- "Johnny on the spot". They took my small plate as soon as I was done and when they came around with more appertizers, I used my napkin for the small lamp chops. I was also glad there were toothpicks at the front entrance as every stick was also quickly removed! Though I know that is their job to do so, and only because I had been there once before I had noticed them and was able to go and get one. So, todays review of the Lakehouse is 3 stars.

This time, I ordered the Bayside Trio (I think that was the name). One Lump Crabcake over a bed of yellow rice, 3 grilled shrimp, and 2 baked clams served with charred broccoli. Can I just say that the broccoli was one of the best part of the meal? I think that speaks volumes. Where to begin? Lets just get the worst of it out of the way. The Lump Crabcake- (lump Crabcake generally implies that the crab is of good quality) -wasn't. No chunks of crab meat-just mush. Was it the same as the "Maryland Crabcake" listed in the appetizer section? The waitress said yes. Let me tell you, it was NOTHING like a Maryland Crabcake. I'm actually embarrassed for Bayside Clambar for trying to pass off this little crabby patty as a Maryland crab cake. If I was Maryland, I'd sue Bayside for defamation and slander, for them trying to pass their sad little clump of whatever-it-is as a Maryland Crabcake! To me, that was the worst offense, that sad little stepsister...nay, distant cousin ... to the mighty Maryland Crabcake. As if that wasn't bad enough, it was pretty god-awful to eat. I left half of the pathetic little thing on my plate. The shrimp? Undercooked and tough. I left 1 1/2 of the 3 of them on my plate. The rice? Meh, but not horrible. I still left most of it on my plate. Thank Gods the baked clams and the broccoli were delicious-not a crumb of either were left behind. The waitress's lack of care when I told her that this plate was less than mediocre didn't help much. It's official-Bayside Clambar is on my list of places to avoid. I might suggest you do the same and save yourself from disappointment.

I've always loved their New England clam chowder. This visit it was still very good, but it wasn't quite as good as I remembered--the potatoes were a little gummy, and there weren't as many clams as usual. The oysters were excellent--fresh, cold, and delicious. We also ordered the catfish, which used to be marinated, but this time it seemed like the fish was simply cooked and the sauce was poured on top afterward. It just wasn't the same. The biggest surprise of the meal was actually the fries. They were perfectly crispy, well-seasoned, and honestly one of the best parts of our dinner. We also tried the crab cake egg roll special, but unfortunately it wasn't for us. They were very dry, and the dipping sauce had an unusual flavor that almost reminded us of pumpkin. My husband was hoping to order the soft-shell crab sandwich, but they let us know they were completely out of crab that day. Even with a few disappointments, I still really enjoy coming here for fresh seafood and the gorgeous view. There's plenty of free parking, and the outdoor patio is pet friendly, which is always a huge plus for us.
