Sad. Why do I keep getting Asian food in decidedly un-Asian places? Somehow I never learn. I really wanted some boba and I was in Thornton for work, so right after getting my rental car, I consulted Yelp for some boba. Vietnamese Cafe came up. I ordered the tofu spring rolls, which were sadly lacking in all the condiments and were just noodles, lettuce, and tofu. I've made better spring rolls. My guava smoothie was way too sweet and had large chunks of ice in it. The boba hardened in the few minutes I was trying to suck it down. :( read more

I would describe my overall experience as pretty okay. I will eat here again but probably try different dishes. When I first came in, I recognized the familiar smell of Vietnamese food - in particular the smell of the hot and sour and egg drop soups, as well as egg rolls and seasoned meats. The place looked reasonably clean, but it wasn't exceptional.. what you'd expect from a lot of Asian places. It was a great day outside, so I decided to sit outside in the sun. The service was just fine, nothing exemplary, but they were very courteous and nice. Food was served in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered a green tea boba drink and a lunch set - sweet & sour chicken dish, came with fried rice, an egg roll, and hot & sour soup. -Boba was meh for me. Like many other places, they blend their drink base with ice so you get a frappucino-like drink. I tend to like regular drinks poured over ice, so I was not personally a fan, though some others might like it. -Soup was delicious - I tend to like my food just slightly saltier than average, and the soup really had a good kick to it in both the hot and sour departments. -Egg roll was okay, but I'm a little biased because my mother makes the best damn egg rolls in the world. -Sweet & sour chicken was, unfortunately, not so good. They got the sweet portion right, but you could tell the pineapples were from a can and not fresh. They tasted like pineapples, but there's that stark difference between canned fruit and fresh fruit that I can't really describe, but I'm hoping you know. The sauce itself was lacking in flavor - not enough salt, and just a touch of sweetness, so it ended up being rather bland. -Chicken itself was fried very well in a delicious batter, but the sauce ruined it for me. If I'm in the area again, I'll probably go back and try a different dish. Overall, the experience was so-so for me. If you want a really, really good Vietnamese restaurant, check out Saigon Basil located on 106th around Huron or so. read more

One of my friends, who used to live not too far from this restaurant, kept raving about its food. Finally, we decided to give it a try, hoping it was worth the drive. Glad we went! Since there were 6 of us, we got to share and try a few dishes and everything was good. My friend had recommended the Vietnamese egg rolls, and these are indeed a treat, crisp and light. I ordered the grilled pork platter, and was very pleased with a big serving of flavorful meat. I'd say the curry chicken is good but nothing you can't find anywhere else. If you like seafood, the Crispy Garlic Scallops are a must. The serving is very generous, the scallops are a nice size, fresh and perfectly cooked. As for drinks, they offer cocktails, and a wide selection of Boba smoothies if you'd rather skip the alcool. I got the noodle bowl with egg rolls and grilled chicken. I thought it was tasty. Some customers like the sauce that comes with it, while others don't. I fall into the category of liking it. Which is why I'm so glad we found this place. The service was wonderful--prompt and attentive! The egg drop soup was the best I've had in years, and the egg roll was perfectly crispy and tasty, with a great dipping sauce. For my entree, I had the grilled beef, which was sliced perfectly thin, seasoned wonderfully, and cooked just right! This is on the way to DEN airport. I consider it a beginner's place for Vietnamese food. The selection of pho noodle soup includes rare steak, beef meatballs, chicken, shrimp, and tofu. There isn't the more authentic ingredients such as tendons, briskets, or tripes. The soup is only so-so, a little bland for my taste. The noodles stick together more than it should. The shrimp and pork spring rolls taste ok, and it comes with a thick peanut dipping sauce. The seating and environment was spacious and comfortable. Came to this place with my son because had not been here for awhile. We got there around 8:20 pm. When we walked in, I noticed that the wait staff was different. We were seated and served water. Our waiter came back and took our orders. I then asked him if the restaurant was under new ownership; he replied 'yes'. He said that it has been under new ownership for 1 1/2 years now. I was a little sad that I wasn't able to come one last time before it changed owners because I would've liked to eat one more time here. Anyways, I ordered my used to be favorite small wonton soup and I ordered their egg roll vermicelli bowl and my son ordered the combo vermicelli bowl. The food came and we didn't wait too long. The wonton soup tasted the same and delicious. Both our vermicelli bowls were delicious too. So far I think the food is good. Will have to come back and try some of our other favorites to see if it still tastes the same and try other stuffs on the menu too. The only thing I didn't like is that while they still had customers present, they were cleaning up and putting up chairs. I think it is rude. I think that if there was a part of the restaurant where there were no customers sitting around there then they can do that. But we were sitting around the area they were cleaning up and I didn't like their manners and etiquette. I hope that they change that. I didn't take any pictures but maybe next time. read more
