Our service was phenomenal, and the food was great! We've ordered food to pick up before, and decided to stop in and have a sit down dinner. We called in advance and found there were tables available. Upon arrival our server greeted us warmly and was very attentive through the meal. I cannot say enough good things about our experiences here! read more

This is the place that got me hooked on Vietnamese food! Strangely enough, their Chinese food is what got me in the door because I tried their sesame chicken and it was the best I've ever had. Never hard, stringy and overcooked like too many places do, but nice, tender chicken cuts with a batter that's not too soft or too crunchy--just right! Their curry chicken has the best coconut curry sauce we've found, it's thick and rich. My wife and I love the spicy tomato shrimp too. Some of the best crab-cheese wontons and hot and sour soup, too. We've been eating there for years and the staff is friendly and remembers us by name. I've asked them many times to open a restaurant closer to me or up north, but they don't want to compromise the quality of their food. They have primarily one cook (the owner), and he has this menu down perfectly. I can tell the few days he doesn't cook--it's still pretty good, but not as perfect as when he cooks. They have great bobas too. The prices, especially for the lunch combos, are a BARGAIN! I can't recommend this place highly enough--I tell all my friends and coworkers that it is well worth the drive to get there (we don't live or work in Thornton). My wife and I have gotten a lot of people hooked on their food--a lot of people who thought they wouldn't like Vietnamese food absolutely fall in love with this place. read more

5 stars all the way! My husband and I have been going here for years and have never had a bad experience. We love the Egg rolls, curry chicken and the noodle bowls. This place is definitely one of our faves read more

This was the best Vietnamese or Asian food we have had in Denver! I had the beef udon noodles and my husband had the Hawaiian pork. It was nice that they gave a huge bowl of rice of no extra charge. Also, the service and the atmosphere was very elegant and clean. read more

Great combo plates! The atmosphere is a little awkward because they stare at you if you're the only customers there, but we always have water! read more

This is my favourite place to get Spring Rolls and Pho. The staff is welcoming and the food always hours the spot of you enjoy Spicy I 100% recommend their HotPot. read more

Tasty food, good service. My only complaint is the parking, but that isn't anything that the restaurant can control. Well worth dining here, the portions are large enough for me to share with the kids~ read more

I have been going to this place since they first opened and I often get take out on weekends. Food here has always been fresh, tasty, and very reasonably priced (2 large dinner entrees and a side of egg rolls for less than $22) - can't be beat anywhere (I've never had a bad meal here). Its a little bit of a drive but always worth it. Service is always prompt and polite (for take-out they always give me soy sauce, hot mustard, forks, spoons, chopsticks, napkins, and fish sauce). The best Asian food in the area (7 miles) for the price! They are family owned. read more

Always a wonderful experience. Fantastic food, friendly staff and great atmosphere. The best Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to.

My colleagues and I go here for lunch at least once a week. I don't know how such a wonderful spot like this exists in the area it does, but the staff, atmosphere and food inside are all fantastic. Their lunch specials are terrific value and I have yet to order something there I didn't like. It's a real gem hidden away in the otherwise-depressing Thornton/Henderson/Commerce City hovel. read more

Tried this place for the first time and will never go back. Terrible service. They got our orders wrong and too pricy for basic Vietnamese food. read more

My wife and I have eaten A LOT of Vietnamese food and Vietnamese Cafe is not up to par. We tried their bun bo nuong and bun thit nuong last night - both were horrid. The meat was unseasoned and very dry; few vegetables in the dish; the sauce was very mild. The menu does not name the dishes and really doesn't explain them well. If you want real Vietnamese, try Saigon Bowl at Alameda & Federal Blvd., or New Saigon on Federal. Vietnamese Cafe is obviously catering to caucasians who have no clue of what Vietnamese food really tastes like. They're overpriced, too. read more

This place is so delicious!!!!!!!! So clean..good service... The only downside is that the outside sitting space is not that well kept... Other than that..I love coming here! read more

The best food in town. The fried egg rolls are the best I've ever had. We've been coming here for years, and are always have a good experience. The lemon grass dishes are my favorite. So are the noodle bowls. The service is very professional. This is a pleasant surprise of a restaurant. read more

Our waiter is the best! Brought an extra plate for our baby to share our food with, asked if our sons liked onion on their food or not. (Which they don't and I would've never thought to ask) food is awesome! And happy hour starts at 3pm on Sundays.... $3 Sapporo's... effff yes!! read more

Best place for Vietnamese food. Eggrolls are the best. Staff is always friendly and when you order to go it's ready in a short amount of time. read more

I really love this place, and I've been coming here for years. I love to make my own tofu spring rolls. I really wish they would make some vegan egg rolls. Their egg rolls are perfect and I've missed them since going vegan. read more

This place is one of the best to eat at!!! Everything I've had there has been really good. Keep up the good work. Perfect place on holidays. Every place is packed this one you walk in because no one knows this secret spot read more

I was expecting pretty good food after seeing the reviews. But I wasn't impressed. The service was good, the portions were large, but the food was a little bland. Nothing special. I wouldn't go back. read more

Giving 3 stars because we really love the food, their service however has really been bad lately. My boyfriend and I went in today and this is the 2nd time in the last couple of months we have been seated and then completely ignored. We waited for about 20 minutes, attempted to get the attention of two staff members, and still received no service. We just got up and walked out today, and even walked by 3 staff members who were standing and talking to each other by the bar not serving tables and they said nothing to us. It's really unfortunate because we go out of our way to go here and it is good food. But we're going to take a break for a while and hopefully things will be better the next time we decide to go in. read more

Best Vietnamese food in Thornton! It's a little pricey, but totally worth it. The family that owns this restaurant is awesome. Thank you for all your personal touches and for being a bright spot in the Thornton area's foodie-less void. read more

Walked in and saw no Asians eating, took a chance anyways. Very Americanized restaurant. Food was bland and ordered beef and broccoli, beef was white and stale. The fried egg rolls were funky too. At least the Service was good though. read more

The food is amazing and the staff are friendly. There are several vegetarian options and they are all unique and delicious. The peanut sauce that goes with the spring rolls is superior to any of the peanut sauces I have ever had! The Pepper Garlic Tofu, Ginger Tofu, and Tomato tofu are my favorite because of there bold unique flavored. The iced boba coffee and boba smoothies are out of this world! Vietnamese Cafe really gives you the knowledge of what diverse cultural food is supposed to be. read more

Good quality and tasting Pho and rice. The egg rolls were smaller than expected but still tasted nice. The bubble smoothies were delicious, especially the Banana. read more

I had to write a review because of the excellent selection for vegans/vegetarians. It was so nice having options instead of only having one or two things to pick from. Not to mention that the portions are very generous. The Vietnamese coffee is also so thick and delicious. You will surely get a good full stomach here. read more

Man, I love this place! The combination of a spotless, contemporary setting and delicious Asian fare never fails to make me a very satisfied diner. On my last visit (mid-April 2012) I went with friends, and (of course) we had the Vietnamese fried eggrolls as an appetizer. Vietnamese eggrolls just might be the most delicious food ever invented, and totally put Chinese eggrolls to shame (apologies to my Chinese friends, but it's true). The Vietnamese Café has great ones, too. I always have the urge to ignore the lettuce/rice noodle/ cucumber/mint wrappings and just gobble down all the available eggrolls while my companions are putting their various wrapped-up concoctions together, but somehow I've resisted the temptation so far (someday I'm going to do it, though!). Anyway, on to the entrees. I usually have the beef-wrapped shrimp (indescribably delicious) or the lemongrass chicken (classic), but recently I tried the combination grilled rice platter. Holy cow! At $10.95 it's got to be the best bargain on the menu. It's a gigantic platter with (even more!) eggrolls, an entire grilled chicken breast half, a huge marinated pork chop, and a generous serving of thin-sliced grilled beef. I'm generally not the type to ask for a takeout container, but I definitely did with this dish. My terrific dinner wound up being a delicious lunch as well! My companions had the Crispy Garlic Shrimp, the Emerald Shrimp (both delicious), and a pork and broccoli dish which seemed kind of bland but still perfectly good (not everyone's an adventurous diner, after all). Outside the Federal Boulevard corridor, good Vietnamese fare seems kind of hard to come by in the northern suburbs, but the Vietnamese Café is a very welcome exception. read more

Ay Dios Mio! My favorite place! Their pho is sooo good! Whether u eat there or take out. Vietnamese pork egg rolls are amazing! Orange chicken is the best in town, but their best dish is their Garlic shrimp! Holy crap that dish is awesome! Lightly battered shrimp fried and tossed in this amazing garlic sauce served with cucumbers and tomatoes. The only reason I dont go there everytime I want vietnamese is because I spend 15 bucks more for take out there than at Saigon Pho in Westminster for the same amount of food, or else I would soooo be there every week. Now the service, depends on the time of day or their mood cuz its a bipolar staff, and for the price if you treat me wrong I would usually throw an eggroll at you but I wouldn't dare waste those delicious morsels sooooo I order take out. The only thing I have to remind them to put in my bag is extra chili sauce otherwise I have never had a problem. read more

We tried Vietnamese Cafe for the first time. It was FABULOUS. Try the Tour of Vietnam. We loved the Basil Chicken and sesame chicken. We also had some fried seafood, which was also delicious. Service was great. read more

We have been going to the Vietnamese Cafe since it opened. Love, love, love the lemongrass tofu noodle bowl. Brought my friend today & she loved it, too! read more

My first time there after coworker recommended it. I ordered Vegetarian egg rolls as appetizer. I asked the waitress what the difference was between the Vegetarian Egg Rolls Bowl and the Lemon Grass Tofu bowl. With her broken English, she just repeated the 2 plates. Then a male waiter came to assist and when posed with the same question, his reply was that one had egg roll and the other had Tofu! Unbelievable! I was so frustrated, I decided not to eat and just take my egg rolls to go. I went to wait by the register and there I witnessed a couple changing a baby's diaper on the dining room table! I was going to call for the manager, but i noticed the lady changing the diaper got up and went to the back of the counter! How can you complain about such practices to the owners when its obviously the family that is the source of the issue? I paid for the egg rolls and threw them away in the trash outside the restaurant. I can understand a family owned restaurant. But they should also understand that its not their house -- its a place where they serve the public! Health is health regardless of culture. If you want fecal matter with your noodles, this is the place to be. read more

Food is adequate but not great. Mostly fried. Ginger chicken tasted like it sat for awhile, tough. The mushroom tofu had few mushrooms. Lots of squash. The atmosphere is nice with soft music and clean. I would not go out of my way to go there again. read more

So, I'd like to think that I'm a Pho enthusiast. I've been to 17 different Pho restaurants in Denver so far and I must say I wasn't too impressed with this place. I ordered a large and compared to other places it seemed like a small/medium to be honest. In addition the broth seemed very watered down and the meat was over cooked. Although, I live nearby this place I doubt I'll give it another shot. read more

Huge portions. I ordered the grilled pork noodle bowl. Good stuff. Not the best but still very tasty. The vietnamese coffee was great and so was this fried calamari appetizer we ordered. read more

We still go about 2 or 3 times a month. The spicy shrimp is healthy and excellent. Also the pork fried rice is pretty good.

One of my absolute favorites. Been going there more then 5 years. So many options but the combination noodle bowl is still my top choice. The grilled shrimp is incredible. Service has always been above standard whether dining in or taking it home. read more

Good food, service. Prices are fair and the ambiance isn't bad. Thornton needs all the non-fast food options it can get.

This place has always been good until today. The egg rolls were so greasy they messed with your stomach. The pho soup was so sweet it appeared sugar was added. read more
