The food is amazing! Do not be intimidated by its location or it's look. Everything is fresh and flavorful. The bread is just like it was in France - crusty out and soft in. We will definitely be going there on regular rotation.

I love how this place gives option for small bowl of pho noodle soup. You are able to enjoy a hearty meal with very affordable price. The service is fast! Definitely will come again

Superb Vietnamese food. The pho is amazing with fresh basil. If you are lucky, the basil will have buds.

A friend and I crossed the country before Christmas and when I was looking g for something different for lunch, we tried Viet Sub. The reviews didnt lie. This place was amazing. They use the crispiest bread for the baguette. The special honey ham was delicious also. I live in the SF Bay Area and we have access to lots of great Vietnamese food but this is the best bahn mie I ever

For some time now I had been curious to find out what this little old, cleaned and renovated, white house, on the corner of Williamson Road and Pocahontas, turned Vietnamese restaurant, had to offer. Noticing the continues influx of people going in and coming out with bags of Takeout food, something told me it must have some good food and reasonable prices. So today I decided to drop in for an early dinner. First of all, this old brick small house turned restaurant was simply renovated by cleaning it very well and giving it a good paint with interesting colors, simple tile floors and fake ceiling, and new glass door, but kept the old windows that painted black give the place character. The three little dining room spaces are very small and humbly decorated with simply yet comfortable furniture mostly consisting of tables and chairs. You arrive through the door and encounter an order counter window with a modern computer and a very friendly Vietnamese man with a big smile as he comes out from the back to take your order. He might not know too much English but his wonderful positive attitude immediately wins you over and makes you feel right at home in this small and cozy place. There is an enlarged menu on the wall for one to read as well as a wall plastic rack with small menu to take home. I confess that I am no expert in Vietnamese food but I do like a good sub. So with this in mind I ordered a BBQ Pork Banh Mi (Vietnamese Sub) with no Jalapeños, a Fried Egg Roll, a Fresh Pork Spring Roll with Peanut Sauce, and a Sesame Ball. To drink I ordered a Sweet Iced Tea. I paid with a credit card and was asked to take a seat and that my food would be brought to me. I sat in a small table next to one of the front windows. As I waited several people came to order to go and a few stayed to eat in. The food was brought to me by an Hispanic lady and arranged on my table. The BBQ Pork Viet Sub tasted amazing. Starting from the fresh and crispy baguette, to the nicely cooked pork, and fresh ingredients inside. The Spring Roll tasted refreshing with fresh ingredients as well, and the Egg Roll as well. The Sesame Ball however seemed to have been cooked ahead of time and was not as soft and fresh as I had been expecting. Overall, it was a great dinner at an affordable and reasonable price. And definitely I recommend this place and will certainly be back for more. As I was leaving I noticed a customer having some type of a soup and after complimenting him for how good the soup looked he allowed me to take a photograph to share with my Yelp audience who would be reading my review and you all can benefit from it which you can find with my other photographs that I took there. Enjoy!

Talk about an exciting "hole-in-the-wall," this is it! This vegetarian-friendly restaurant has authentic Vietnamese food at an unbeatable price. The tofu banh mi was just perfect! The tofu was one long flat piece, which made it very easy to eat on a sandwich. The dressing amount was perfect for flavor but not so much that the sandwich was messy. The bread was crunchy on the outside, and the vegetables were piled high. The sandwich was a little small, but for that price, it was still a great value. The vegetable dumplings were amazing! Perfectly fried, flavorful sauce, and filled with the good veggies. Often times, veggie dumplings are filled with cheaper filler ingredients like cabbage, but not these. The shrimp spring rolls were filled with lots of vermicelli noodles and hearty shrimp. The peanut sauce was flavorful but not overpowering. At $2 per, its a great deal And could make for the perfect afternoon snack.

I had an extended layover in Roanoke and time for 1 meal. With the Covid situation I've been laying low and mostly doing takeout. I did a quick yelp search and found this place. I walked in to order and was taken by the delectable aroma from the kitchen. I couldn't resist, I ordered the vermicelli with pork and ate in the humble dining area. The place was a buzz with takeout orders. I had my delicious dish and ordered the Beast Bahn Mi to go. Don't expect a romantic or authentic dining room they don't need it. Expect an authentic delicious and unique Vietnamese dinner. Great place great food excellent prices. This is a don't miss place to eat!!!

Not really familiar with Vietnamese food.....what would entice a guy like me that loves spicy Italian food?

You would love it I'm sure. They use a few jalapeños in each food item. Not over bearing but also the perfect amount of spice. I have not met one person who doesn't love this place.

Let me tell you this Pho was the best Pho I have had in years! So good, so so worth it! We also tried the Eggroll appetizers and they were so crunchy and delicious! The fish sauce pairs well with them. I have to go back to try out the rest of the menu! Service was fast, our waiter was a young man, super nice & courteous. Quiet atmosphere, but not the weird quiet, it's the I'm enjoying this delicious dish quiet. Iykyk! Yes, the building may look like it needs attention as well as some tables inside, but trust me the food is 10/10! You have to try them out!

The exterior of the building where this Vietnamese Cuisine restaurant is located leaves much to be…read moredesired. It has no fancy restaurant front, no fancy landscaping, no nice trimmed green grass, and the two handrails of the three cement steps going up to the entrance door are rusted and almost falling down. Yet the small parking lot in front of the place is often full of cars during lunch and dinner time. But since it is often these hole in the wall restaurants that have the best ethnic foods, I decided today to go try it out. Just above the restaurant's building one can see the beautiful Mill Mountain in all its splendor with the green color of the Spring and above it, the Roanoke Star, highlighted by a beautiful blue sky high above it. You can appreciate this more by viewing my photographs that accompany this review. After I entered the restaurant through two simple glass doors, the inside of the restaurant was clean, with its walls painted white, its floor tiles nice and shiny, and its decor in the minimalist style with only nice looking furniture and nice original paintings and artworks evenly spread around the walls of the restaurant. It had large windows in the front that brought in bright light. Next to the windows and walls were dark red color booths and in the middle of the dining room were tables and chairs. As soon as I entered I was warmly greeted by a young man behind the host's station, who welcomed me with a big smile, handed me a copy of the menu, and asked me to take a seat at the table of my choice. After walking around I went and sat at a table that I not only could feel comfortable, but was situated in a central location with good light so I could observe the restaurant well and be able to take well lit photographs of the food items as soon as I was served and while enjoying my dining experience. The same host doubled as my server, and came by my table with a happy smile to see if I was ready to order. To drink I ordered the CAFE SU ADA, a Vietnamese Iced Coffee with Condensed Milk. As appetizer I ordered Ha Cao, Deep Fried Pork Dumplings served with mixed fish sauce. I also ordered their Goi Cuon Tom 2 Cuon, a shrimp, lettuce, and noddle rolled up with a rice paper, and served with peanut butter sauce. As the main course I ordered their Com Suon, Steamed Jasmine Rice with a Grilled Pork Chop. While ordering I talked with the server and he told me that this was a family owned and run business, together with the AA Asian Market that was inside the same building with an entrance from the restaurant. His mother seemed to be the cook, and his father in charge of running the Market. Through my experience I have found that this is very tipical in many ethnic groups restaurant businesses. The food all came out at once, even though I told my server that I would like my appetizers first. So I would recommend you order the appetizer first and after you're done eating it then order your main course, so the second doesn't get cold and you have more time to enjoy both while conversing with your guests. Everything was delicious: the dumplings, the pork, and the shrimp roll, although I found the rice paper a bit too thick and sticky, making it a bit difficult to handle. The sauces accompanying the food were also extremely good tasting. When I asked what they had for dessert, my server walked to the Market and brought me one of their popular desserts. Not knowing what it was, I ate it anyway. The sweet sauce was good but I didn't care much for the pieces of some type of pieces of a vegetable it had inside. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a wonderful Vietnamese Cuisine dining experience. Both the food and the service were great. So much so that I feel in the process I got to learn more about their culture as well.

This Asian fusion restaurant in the Cave Spring area of Roanoke, is definitely one of my favorite restaurants of all times. And my first visit and review is something that I will always hold very dear. When you finish reading this review I invite you to go back and read that review and view my photographs accompanying that review, for it was a very unique dining experience that I will never forget. From the time you arrive at this restaurant the contemporary building design seems to beckon you to approach and enter. I love their unique logo design made up of letters and a number of a particular font that communicates a certain air of distinction. Once inside, you're like in another world altogether. If the outside of the building was impressive, the interior immediately captures your attention and mesmerizes you with it's beauty. When I arrived today, a very lovely and distinguished lady, dressed very elegantly, welcomed me and led me to the table of my choice. Later did I find out that she was the owner of the restaurant, and I had an opportunity of talking with her about the restaurant, its Sushi Bar, and Sushi chefs. Soon after, my friendly server, who was from Indonesia, came to introduce himself and take my order. To drink I had a Vietnamese Iced Coffee. It was served in a tall glass and tasted marvelous. As appetizer, I had the Dim Sum Platter. It contained 3 shrimp dŕhumai, 3 pork dumplings, 3 pork wasabi shumai, and 2 roasted pork buns. One of those items was extremely spicy, I had to drink water to cool down. The others tasted reasonably good. As my main entrée I had the Lobster Tail Tempura Maki. It was very colorful and tasted, and completely filled me up. My original server did an excellent job serving me the food and coming by to check on me. But then he disappeared and another server, also Indonesian came to bring me my main entrée. I think it might have been a shift change, but feel the first server should have let me know about this fact. But if the first server wad excellent, the second was amazing. He answered all the questions I had about items on the menu, and while delivering special dishes to other customers, he allowed me to photograph this food for the benefit of the readers of this review. Then, at the end, he helped me choose the dessert to have for the Grand Finale of my meal: the Banana Basket. It was amazingly delicious and had slices of bananas, kiwi, mangos, whipped cream, and strawberries. And topped with caramel and chocolate sauces. Considering its friendly and relaxing ambiance, its extensive menu with a wide range of Asian dishes, from traditional Chinese entries to a full sushi bar with raw and cooked options, and its amazing customer service, I definitely highly recommend this restaurant from my own experience. Every time I've dined there I've had an exceptional fine dining experience, and as I'm leaving I'm already looking forward to returning.

This Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet is located in a relatively spacious building structure with…read morean extensive all-you-can-eat food items, including all types of chicken, beef, pork, fish, and seafood selections. Besides this, it has a small salad bar area, Hibachi area, Sushi area, and a very small dessert area with a selection of ice creams as well. The decor of the place is nothing fancy nor modernized and many of the furniture are a bit run down. The "make believe" what looks like a fountain, without water, in the entrance is nothing to brag about and the artwork on the wall look kind of cheap. As one enters the restaurant there is an order and pay counter where a person who seems like the manager gives you a warm greeting with a smile and efficiently takes your order, charges you and has one of the hosts take you to your booth. The price for the buffet is not too expensive and considering the large selection of food items available, this may be what continues to attract many people to eat at this place. We decided to eat here today because other buffets and opened restaurants around had a wait of more than an hour. Once you're seated at your booth, a server is assigned to bring you your drink and refills, and to remove your empty dishes once you finish eating what's on them. We had a very friendly and efficient young man who was always coming around to check on us with a smile and providing exceptional customer service. Now, if we talk about the food, which is the main reason one goes to a restaurant in the first place, leaves much to be desired. The quality of many of the items available is very poor and/or not cooked well. The turkey slices served were dry and not to fresh as well as many of the seafood items were lukewarm and not freshly served. The fried shrimps were crunchy and warm, however they were flat and not plumpy. The Sesame Chicken seemed to have more batter than meat. Even the squid looked and tasted cheap and was not warm. The Sushi Bar had a few variety of Suchi but they lacked craftsmanship. So much so that I didn't even dare to try one, and the employees working that station didn't encourage me either when they saw me there. In the Hibachi area, I noticed that the grill was not too cleanand the cook manding this area did not accommodate me when I asked if I could add two eggs to my items before he served them. If management addresses some of the above issues I mentioned, I think this Buffet restaurant will have a better chance to successfully grow its clientele and not lose many. I invite all of you reading my review to go experience for yourself if they have followed my recommendations, and this can only be done by trying you out.

After I finish eating, as I'm leaving, he yells to me "Have a nice day." I don't even look at him. I have my sunglasses on. As I'm walking out the door, he adds, "Or don't." I'm outside halfway down the parking lot to my car, and he literally sticks his head out the door. He left his position behind the counter and walked all the way outside to yell at me more. He says, "Take a picture. It'll last longer." I run back inside and he starts yelling at me again. "Oh what? You want to fight me now", he says. I go right past him to one of the other employees and ask for a manager. He screams, "I am the manager." I say, "Okay, let me speak to the owner." He says, "The owner never comes here." There's a lot of customers waiting in line to pay by now. And he looks at me and says, "Why you giving me that look? A look like that, you either want to fight me or have sex with me." I ask him why he'd say that in front of all these customers (mostly Hispanic and Asian descent), and he says, "None of them speak English anyway." I look at the customers and say, "So none of you speak English? Is that true? He just said that about you." A younger fellow next me exhales, rolls his eyes, and says to me, "Don't worry about it." So I turn to leave, and he says, "I hope your day gets better." I reply, "I hope your life gets better." And all of this happened in front of dozens of customers during the lunch rush. I can tell you one place where I'll never eat again in my life. And good riddance. Oh, and "Have a nice day!"
