Most of negative pho reviews are from people who enjoy the normal msg laden phos at Viet restaurant. I'm Vietnamese and lived in Nha trang and pho is authentic here. Definitely my favorite restaurant in Denton and around. Friendly owners and the food is so fresh and healthy you can taste it. That pork banh mi w their special homemade mayo is a winner. Could eat it daily. Their pho is authentic and delicious. Not too overpowering broth like most Vietnamese. Really good food. read more

The cashier/cook/expeditor was trying her best to run the entire show essentially by herself while the other two employees were doing sign changes out front. That aside, the food we received was subpar at best. The bahn mi was mediocre, although it was far more impressive than the pho. I ordered filet and meatball and received it sans the meatball, which may or may not have added something to the flavorless broth and overcooked noodles. As a side note, the cardboard bowls have simply got to go. I realize this place is designed with convenience in mind, but they change the flavor of the already strange broth and are simply too flimsy. Also, we had to inquire about the toppings for the pho since they are not readily visible. I always thought it was pretty hard to mess up pho. If you're used to eating it you probably appreciate a silky broth with distinct flavor profiles and a wonderful aroma. You will not find that here. The only reason for the second star is because Crystal demonstrated excellent service, despite the less than ideal situation. Hopefully the owners will improve upon the basics as there is a definite need for a decent Vietnamese place in Denton. read more

My friends and I came here on a Saturday night when other restaurants around were closed already. We ordered Pho, and what came out was unexpectable. There was barely any meat or noodles in a big bowl with full of broth. I felt like it didn't even fill half of my stomach, and my appetite is consider pretty small as well. I don't think this is an authentic Vietnamese restaurant because I'm Vietnamese, so I can tell right away that this one isn't. The only thing I like about this place is it's really clean. That's about it. I don't think I would want to come back here at all! read more

If it hadn't been for the terrible customer service, I would say this place is pretty enjoyable. Long story short, a group of friends and I walked into Viet Bites around 3:15 for some lunch before class. 4 of us ordered food, and 2 of us received our order within 5 minutes. Around 3:40-45, my other two friends had not received their food. They asked one of the employees, if it would be out soon and her reply was that they were out of bowls and it would be out soon. My friend told her they would gladly eat it out of a to-go bowl because they needed to head to class. Another 5-10 minutes later and the food still had not come out. My friend went up to the register to ask for a refund since they were needing to leave and had not received their food yet. The employee was quite rude, informing my friend that its not her fault that they didn't have bowls and if they wanted a refund there would be no way they would receive the food. When asking for a manager, the employee said they don't have anyone that they could speak to. I continued to finish my food and my friends left. As I finished my soup, the employee behind the counter kept talking about how ridiculous the situation was and how rude my friends were when in fact that was not the truth. I won't be back. read more

Staff was friendly and fast. I ordered the pork rice bowl and egg rolls. Egg rolls were fantastic. I was disappointed in the bowl itself, the pork was mostly fat and gristle. A few pieces tasted off, hoping I spit them out in time........ read more

One of the best Vietnamese restaurants i have been to outside of Saigon. I had the Noodle plate regular size. There was lots of chicken and grilled to perfection. The ingredients were really fresh. I'll be back to try more stuff read more

The food here is all pretty tasty. I've definitely had better pho, but the Banh Mi with tofu is delicious. The reason for the lower review is the service! While the people are nice, it takes way too long to get a meal. Even ordering a single egg roll take 10-15 minutes, minimum. There's better, more reliable Thai places within walking distance of Viet Bites, check those out instead. read more

I ordered a rice bowl with pork, jalapenos, and citrus ginger and added some soy sauce to it. I thought that it was pretty good. What I will rave about though is their egg rolls. I wish I had ordered more than one. So good! I couldn't eat all of my large rice bowl for lunch, so I finished it for dinner. I will be returning here, especially given that I work at UNT, which is within walking distance. read more

I love Viet Bites, while I would give their original location a 5 star review, this location is a definite 4. The food is just as tasty, but the atmosphere and lack of service is just not on par with the original location. I miss the actual chopsticks and spoons (that aren't flimsy plastic). The trays and smaller bowls are also less formal. The setup just makes it seem very fast-food like and I honestly prefer the vibe of the original location that has servers, nicer flatware, and is less self service but for the same price. That being said the food is still equally delicious. I'm here mostly for the broth and noodles which are always satisfying. The meat is good too(when you get pieces that aren't overly fatty which isn't really my thing). The restaurant is usually pretty clean, and is conveniently located near campus (which is probably why it has the more casual setup). Overall, it's solid food, so if you're after food near campus or open later this location is where you'll want to be. read more

Mediocre pho, at best. I'm visiting Denton and had a craving for pho ga, so I thought I'd give this place a shot. The meat wasn't properly cooked (cooked through, but not prepared properly), oily noodles, and poor flavor in broth. I didn't even finish my bowl. Also, apparently flavored bubble tea is a foreign concept here. read more

It's a little on the expensive side, but it's always good to support a small business and James, the owner is a really nice and friendly guy! My kids cannot get enough of this food and so we go back again and again and order more and more food each time. Our favorites are the beef pho and the pork bowl. read more

Love it, closest thing I will get to great asian food in denton. Quick, cheap, & easy bite. I literally come at least 3 times a month or more. I would recommend Chicken bahn mi and pho. Be sure to add at least some oyster sauce, sriracha, jalepenos, bean sprouts to your pho for flavor, don't eat it plan that's no fun! I also loved their boba and environment. read more

I visited VB for lunch today... probably my 5th or 6th visit. Each time I leave disappointed, but today was especially bad. The establishment was clean and the staff was nice. The food, however, leaves much to be desired. The pho noodles were still a little hard and should have been cooked a few more minutes to get the correct consistency. The chicken for the pho noodle bowl was very dry and had no flavor whatsoever. There were no vegetables except bean sprouts added to the soup. I want to like Viet Bites, but they keep disappointing me. If you know, love, and understand what true Vietnamese food should taste like, I would not recommend this establishment. However, there are a lot of Denton-ites who appreciate their veggie/vegan options. Overall, I would not recommend a visit if you are a foodie or die hard Viet food fan. read more

Great service, Brianna at the counter was fantastic! I ordered a rice bowl and it had good portions and was quite good. They also had a nice selection of self serving veggies and spices. Expect to spend about $10 here read more

Nasty and unbelievably overpriced. Drive down to Carrolton if you want halfway decent Viet food.

Honestly Viet Bites needs to rethink their price point. Almost $11 dollars for a "large" bowl of combination pho and $6 for a bahn mi is pretty steep. At any of my favorite pho places around North Dallas you can get an even larger bowl with more meat for under $8 and bahn mis for less than $4 (most of which are more authentic and are also completely homemade with no added MSG). I also agree with some of the other reviews that the pho is slightly under seasoned, It just needs a splash more of fish sauce or something along those lines. Really this place is alright, I just can't justify spending that much on an "alright" bowl of pho. I should also note that I haven't tried a large amount of the other items the offer. read more

Everything I've had is great! Solid banh mi, solid pho, great curries. Not sure about the negative reviews about customer service. I've never had anything but great customer service. read more

Guys I got the app just so I could write about this place. Best meal I've had in Denton. Everything was so fresh and tasted great. I got a rice bowl with chicken, kimchi, avocado and more veggies. The Viet iced coffee was so good as well! I always have a hard time deciding where to eat and now this will be my go to! read more

First of all, let me just say that I am Vietnamese. This place is such an insult to Vietnamese food. I made an order for Bun Bo Hue and it was just bland and not spicy! There was a self-serve vegetable area and I got as much spice as possible & it was still gross. The beef pho noodle soup was gross too. It was BLAND BLAND BLAND. I was so happy that there was an asian restaurant near UNT, but this place just discouraged me from eating at all. The place that I sat at was dirty and it was sticky. The place was busy, so I had no other choice but to sit there and sulk. People who eat pho for the first time, don't come here. Just don't come here at all!!!! Again, for the people who want to eat pho for the first time, eat somewhere else. This place will ruin your noodle craving and will make you hate pho forever, as it made me hate pho for a little bit, and pho is my FAVORITE FOOD EVER AS A VIETNAMESE PERSON. read more
