I always get the Jasmine white rice bowl to-go because I usually get full off of half of it. I get it topped with half chicken and half pork, various veggies, and cilantro dressing (get extra). The veggies are fresh. The pork can sometimes be pretty fatty. Overall, a nice and easy lunch. I've heard great things about the rest of the menu items that I hope to explore soon. I've been told multiple times to try the curry fries. They are topped with curry powder. They were pretty good. I would like them to be a bit hotter temp wise and perhaps next time I'll order curry on the side to dip them in. I like the Thai tea and Pho-rappucino. They both give a nice boost of energy. I like that the Pho-rappucino is well blended so you don't get a clump of ice at the bottom. The staff is really nice. Location has plenty of seating. Stumbled on this place with my two year old- and we liked it! The food took a while but was obviously made fresh. Everyone was kind and helpful, offering to carry my tray. There were no kids meal portions that I saw. My son had the chicken and brown rice bowl with peanut sauce. He would have drank the sauce if I let him. I came here on a chilly day, usually perfect for a warm bowl of pho. The menu here is not intuitive at all, ordering was confusing and there aren't many options for toppings. The pho itself was flavorless and oily, I had to add a lot of Sriracha to taste anything. The fried dumplings were the best part of the meal, which is unexpected for a place that specializes in pho and banh mi. I have had much better pho elsewhere, but if you're in the area and wanting pho it will do. read more

I was pretty skeptical when it said "build your own pho bowl" but my husband really wanted to try this place. Talk about underwhelming. The broth was tasteless, no amount of hoisin or sriracha could help it. The chicken were cut into chunks rather than thin slices which was odd. Barely any noodles or chicken in the bowl for the price compared to everywhere else I've been. This place is overpriced. Definitely would not recommend this place and will not be coming back. I reviewed the second location quite a long time ago. Since then that location has closed and now it's just this one on Fry. My first impressions of this place were not good, and I had given the other location a couple chances and settled on two stars. I really wasn't fond of it, and still found myself driving to Lewisville for the best pho. Recently a friend asked me if I wanted if I wanted to tag along for lunch and she suggested here. I was a tad hesitant but I wasn't about to say no to a pregnant lady. Upon walking in, they have a different set up from the other location. The other one was a sit down style restaurant, while this one is more order at the counter, grab your food and go. I think that style works better for this area of town, and I prefer it as well. I also dig the fact that they have a toppings bar, with plenty of fresh ingriediants. There is no one watching you so you can feel free to put as much chili oil as you want! Since my first visit just a short time ago, I believe I've already come more than 10 times easily. The way they cook the tofu is easily one of my favorite in Denton. They get it perfectly crisp on the outside and just soft enough on the inside. It pairs well in the noodle bowl or the ban mi sandwich. I find both to be really good, with very fresh and bright ingredients. I see a lot of comments on the pho not being authentic and I think I would agree. It's defiantly not the best, so I stick to the other dishes. I haven't had any meat here yet so I can't really speak to how good it is here or not. The service here every time is very good. Everyone has always been helpful and pleasant. It seems no matter how busy they are, they usually get me my food in five minutes or so. It was a bit bland, but honestly it leaves room for all the stuff people put in their pho. I ordered a chicken pho with chicken broth, and the chicken was dry. The soup was bland and wasn't flavorful. I had to add sauces to make it taste better. There is a vegetable bar that had veggies you can add into your pho, including bean sprouts, onions, cilantro, lime, and other stuff. Overall, the food was okay after adding in some sauces, the noodles lacked flavor, and my chicken was dry and hard. The price was expensive compared to other pho places, and I'd expect better pho if paying ~$9. Customer service was also good. Won't recommend the pho though. read more

The pho broth is literally broth from a can. If you've had pho you know the broth is made by cooking down bones along with all the Vietnamese spices. While I loved the original Viet Bites, and gave it a strong 4 stars, I'm saddened that I don't care much for this location. Staff - After visiting this location a handful of times I have noticed a few common themes. The first is that the staff is not very friendly and always appeared bothered that I'm there to order food. It's always different people working so it's almost impressive that this happens every visit. They also manage to mess up our order 100% of the time. Sometimes it's little things like not putting our sauce in the bag and sometimes things are wrong with the food. Unfortunately i would give the staff q star. Food - We pretty much always order the same things. Pho'get the Meat (Vegetarian Pho with Tofu and Vegetables), Tofu Banh Mi, and sometimes tofu fries. So the Tofu fries at the other location were an easy 5 stars. They were crisp, not oily, and full of flavor. At this location they tend to be soggy and bland. We probably won't order them anymore. The Banh Mi is usually decent, although pretty great at the other location. Ingredients seem to be missing at times, and they put very little sauce. The bread doesn't seem super fresh either. The Pho is ok. We usually get it to go and the ingredients and quality vary from time to time. Not much constancy. I hate that this location is so underwhelming compared to the other. Yet another reason I love going to school in Denton: The ability to find places when you are low carbing it. I frequently get the grilled lemon grass chicken bowl with no rice or noodles and just extra veggies including avocado and I top it with anything from peanut sauce to Citrus ginger dressing. Not only is it delicious but it won't stretch your waistline nor your wallet. Super fresh food in a very funky college vibe location and very friendly waitstaff. I typically get my food to go and I love that it's ready in under 10 minutes. They also have a toppings station so if you really want more cilantro you can just walk up and get some. I love finding places around UNT that are reasonably priced and not something junk food. I highly recommend this place. read more

My company has me working in Denton for today, so I thought I would check this place out. I wasn't expecting much from all the bad reviews but Seoul Chicken wasn't open yet and I needed a quick bite before I got back to work. That being said... 11 for a bowl of pho and you get no vegetables?. Or maybe I should have let them know, but usually every viet restaurant you go to always has condiments of mint leaves and lemon or lime to add that additional flavor to your pho. The broth was very bland. Tasted like it came from Insta-pho in a bag. I do have to say that the small pieces of meat that I did get it, were fresh and tasty but they were only a couple pieces. other customer reviews are on par with the comment that you pay a lot for your bow that is bland, with little condiments to no condiments. I don't recommend this place even if you want to chance and try it like I did just to give the place a chance. Super bland is all I can sum up with. I've been to this Viet Bites location a few times and had good experiences. I always get the tofu bahn mi, it's yummy. However, today my bahn mi was overstuffed and half of the bottom broke off and I had to hold it together while I ate. THEN we ordered the "spicy garlic fries" and were extremely underwhelmed.... see photo. It's literally fries with some chopped jalapenos and garlic on top. I was picturing fries tossed in spices and garlic.... they weren't even salty at all... no flavor unless you happen to get jalapeño or garlic bits. Total fail, not sure how these ended up on the menu. Viet bites- please make these fries better, the name makes them sound so good! Here's another tip: if they're busy, this location is SUPER SLOW! I'm just going to echo other reviews here by saying this, but AVOID THE PHO. If you have experience with authentic Vietnamese restaurants (which there is an abundance of in DFW) and are coming for that, you will leave disappointed. If you don't have experience with authentic Vietnamese restaurants, would like some vegetarian flare to Vietnamese food, or just need a different delivery option in your book, I'd say to give it a go. They carry a tofu protein option, which isn't typical. Worth noting it includes mushrooms if you're squeamish of the little buddies. Their bahn mi isn't the greatest, but it served its purpose as a good carrier of tofu. Haven't tried their bun/noodle bowl, but I'd like to believe their tofu could find a cozy home there as well. Their curry fries were also pretty delicious, and survived the soggy depths of delivery. To settle any confusion, it's curry seasoning, not sauce. Although it did come with a tasty sauce companion. With all that said, I'd still argue to venture out to places like Pho Pasteur 2 in Carrollton. That food baby happiness is worth the drive, and Viet Bites doesn't even compare. read more

I recently got the vermicelli with pork. It wasn't bad, but the price doesn't match the quality. The pork tasted like thick bacon that had been sitting out all day - not tender or pleasant to eat. I was kinda disappointed today for lunch when I ate back here. I ate here about 2 years ago and it was pretty good but today was sad. Their pho is just ok, the broth is a little plain and a little skimpy on the meat compared to other pho restaurants.. but the meat that's there is quite delicious! I understand that they are trying be fun with letting you choose your own toppings and broth but It would works better if everything was better executed in terms of taste and consistency. Today I got the banh mi with the cup of beef pho. The banh mi was better than what I had last time, the bread was airy yet crispy, like it should be and a good helping of the shaved pork. The last banh mi I had here felt like I was eating pound cake bread and it lacked a lot of pickled veggies. This is probably one of the worst beef pho I've had. The beef pho was not beef pho. The Bahn Mi had a generous portion of pork, with pickled veggies, cucumber, jalepeños, and cilantro, so a solid sandwich that is easily a meal on it's own. Wanting to try the pho as well I got the banh mi//pho combo. The broth had little flavor in it, and the beef added in did not add much to it. Yes there were lots of noodles, bean sprouts, cilantro and jalapenos, with a lime as adornment, but the broth it what makes or breaks the dish, and in my case it broke it. Only one person was in the restaurant who ordered at the register ahead of me. He received his to-go order and left, which I found strange since I had ordered ahead of time. I waited for another 25 minutes as others came, ordered, and left. Eventually I stepped up to the to-go area and asked about my order. They pointed me to the line of four people, which I waited in - again, and asked for my order. Despite calling out both to-go and dine-in orders for everyone else at the counter my order had been sitting growing cold behind the register. I had to convince them I'd already paid - and left a tip - and finally got my food. The Banh mi here is always good and fresh. Ingredients are fresh as well, but when you order, be clear on what you want on the sandwich. I basically only said chicken for mine and no jalapeños, and so they assumed to add kimchi and everything not in the green box, which I assumed you had to ask for. Got the taro boba the first time I was here and it was disgusting and watery. This time I got Thai tea and it was pretty good and decent. ALTHOUGH I think 3.75 for the size of the boba drink is freaking ridiculous. Service was friendly, but the actual time to get food was a little slow. Atmosphere is nice.
