I wanted a Smart TV and had done some research online about pricing, quality, etc. I went to Video Only and was assisted by a polite young man named Blake. I was looking for a TV for my quilting room, and found a 24" Samsung. Blake was very helpful, answered all of my questions. The purchase went smoothly and I will definitely go back and purchase another Smart TV from Video Only, and I will certainly ask for Blake. This was a very positive experience for me and I highly recommend them. read more

I recently moved into my new apartment 2 weeks ago, so I decided that i should finally invest in an entertainment unit for my living room which includes a Tv, sound bar and a Tv stand. My first stop was Video Only, I walked in and was greeted by a friendly sales associate named Eric (The Viking!) I told him that I was looking around and that I specifically wanted Vizio. He informed me that they do not carry that brand since they aren't as reliable and they only carry quality brands which includes Samsung, Sharp, Sony, LG etc. That then started a conversation about the different brands and the pros and cons to each tv. He was extremely knowledgeable and knew the answer to every question I had. So I continued to look around and found a really nice 55" Samsung 4K tv and was intrigued by how big the savings were, I just happened to walk in on one of the last days they were having their summer sale and didn't even know it until then. I decided then that I have found the tv I was looking for. I then went to look at some surround sound bars and he demoed every sound bar I wanted to listen to. After I decided what sound bar and tv stand I wanted, I told Eric I needed some alone time to think of my decision on if this would be a purchase I was going to make. Eric gave me my space while I went on the internet and looked up the specific tv model to see if I was going to get ripped off and should buy online or if I was going to get a good deal on the tv and the accessories. I did the math and surprisely I was getting a great deal. I made the deal with Eric and asked about delivery and set up and he said that he would give me free delivery and set up. Next day the delivery man called around 11am to let me know that they would be here around 2:15-4:15. A truck showed up around 2:30 and 2 gentlemen started to set up immediately in my livingroom. only took them a half hour to set up the stand, tv and sound bar. They even did me a favor and set up my Xbox One and configured the settings to where I would be getting the most from my tv when I was using the Xbox. All In all I'm extremely pleased with my products and I applaud the Video Only store in Tacoma for making it a great buying experience read more

Friendly Service. Knowledgable staff. Not too much pressure, but they are trying to sell stuff.

Worst customer service. Their return policy is a scam. no returns if you open the box! I bought $1800 floor standing speakers from them. Got them home and they didn't sound as good as my original speakers. They laughed at the return idea since i didn't save all the packaging. And told me to buy a bigger receiver from them to fix it. Never again! read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to shop in this store. We were warmly welcomed when we entered and were given some time to look around before a salesman approached. Since we had done our research and knew what we wanted, it was just a matter of picking out the right tv for the right price. The salesman, Allen, was very helpful, answered our questions and showed us our options. We even added in a vhs/dvd player since we got such a good deal on the tv. read more

I spent about 3k on a new stereo system, and they were great and did everything needed to seal the deal. When the receiver broke within the 20 days I went back to the store. The manager made a big deal about switching the receiver out with a new one (as is their policy). I asked for some kind of paperwork showing it was switched out. The manager became irate with me and started telling me (in a loud voice) I should be happy that he did me a favor and changed it out for me. Of course I had to point out customer service is his job and yes, at this point I had a sarcastic tone. He told me to get out of his store. So I wrote Video only and complained about the way I was treated. They did not care to respond to my complaint. I have never been treated so poorly or talked down too by a sales person/manager/store in my life and the fact they did not care to address the complaint says they are happy to take your money but after that they do not care about you. read more

Terrible costume service when dealing with the store manager. I've been a costumer for years and have always bought a TV from Greg who is wonderful. On the rare occasion I have to deal with the store manager who is often rude and arrogant. Recently I had some issues with a TV I bought that broke within a month of purchasing, unfortunately I had to deal with the store manager who cared little about my TV issues and suggested that I most likely broke the TV myself (I verified with an LG technical that this was not the case) which led to a confrontation and him kicking me out of the store for our disagreement, even throwing a rude comment at me as I was leaving. I understand that video only was not at fault for the TV breaking however I am in the service industry as well and that is no way to treat long time consumer. I would not recommend this location and will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I have been a customer of the Tacoma store for many years. I've purchased two Panasonic televisions, an Onkyo AV Receiver systems, a Panasonic Blue Ray DVD, speakers, and a Yamaha AV receiver. I couldn't be happier with the sales personnel and they support they offered. The salesperson I worked with was knowlegable about the equipment they offered. He was not pushy. I've been able to work with sales personnel to get lower prices (for instance, matching the amazon.com price). For the Panasonic Plasma I purchased, they delivered and set it up. The Best Buy store is within walking distance but they don't negotiate price and charge for delivery. For my home entertainment needs, my first choice will always be Video Only in Tacoma, WA. read more

I have heard the TV jingle for years now. You know the one. "If you don't you'll be sorry" So I decided to go to Video Only in Tacoma to purchase 2 TVs. I bought a 32 inch and an LG 50 inch. Well when I got home the 32 inch was broken so I had to exchange it the very next morning. Now, 3 days after my purchase, my 50 inch picture has died. Seriously? When I called the sales guy Phil he basically told me that it was MY cable connection and not the TV itself. So I waited and it has gotten so bad that I can't even see the picture. So guess what I get to do? I have to dismantle it and box it up and take it back. 2 TVs broken? If he gives me a hard time about replacing it or getting a refund I will be back on here to take away one of my stars to make it a one star. I should not have to drive 25 miles to take back defective equipment. With the amount I spent, I feel that they should come to me. Well we shall see how it goes. read more

I had a bad experience about a year ago. They may have changed, and I only give two stars instead of one because of that. But anyway... [please keep in mind this was a year ago, and yea, the sales guy may have been having a bad day] very unimpressed. Yes, they have lots of neat electronics. They also had a huge push to sell. If you come into their store dressed down and just wanting to 'look around', you WILL get the run-around. I did. This guy kept pushing me to buy speakers, and when he saw that I was just 'gathering info' regarding them, he started talking down to me, informing me that I wasn't really interested anyway, wasn't gonna buy, etc, and then would pitch me another price/deal... it was really strange. I said I would check prices and come back, and he replied in a pretty serious/weird voice "You aren't gonna come back!" I know the guy could have been having a bad day, but I did not expect to be treated worse than the typical 'used car salesman' treatment. I checked other reviews for Video Only before posting this, and they make sense. People with money who look like they will definitely buy get treated 'well', but people with a return issue/people who are just trying to get a baseline idea of what to buy are given a hard-sell attitude. They probably all work on commission and don't get a lot of business (go in and see for yourself, I have never seen anyone go in/come out and when I finally went in, there was no other customer inside) so.... Video Only could be a good alternative to BestBuy, but if you are considering a big purchase, then ask about the warranty and GET IT IN WRITING. Make them sign something saying that you actually can return your product if needed etc. Don't let them jerk you around- know what you want before you go. Maybe do yoru research online/at BestBuy first. You will hopefully have a much better experience than I did. I hate giving this kind of review but I don't recommend them. read more
