I stopped in here kind of on a whim after visiting the Albert Lee Appliance store next to it while on a quest for a washer and dryer. And boyyyyyy am I glad I did. I recognized the name of the store from their radio advertising. We only do TV's, or something like that. Shayne asked me if I needed help as soon as he was done helping another customer and HOOKED ME UP! I told him about my space restrictions in my living room at my new house, and that it was looking like I would be looking at a 55 incher max, and he showed me what he had. Zero pressure, "here's what I've got, here are the prices" type approach, and then answered all of my questions. We're talking a LOT of questions. I haven't bought a TV in at least 10 years. What's the difference between thus and that? I liked this feature that I saw on Amazon, what can I get like that here? He asked me what I was looking to use it for, and showed me the best rigs for gaming, as I'm looking to do a bit of gaming on this TV. I'm a research the crap out of everything kind of guy, read the reviews, and he was right up front giving me the exact model number on the TV I was homing in on so I could pull up reviews online. And prices. More on pricing in a bit. What REALLY sold me on the LG 55 incher I wound up bringing home was Shayne showing me the operating system and remote on the LG. He ran me through all the functionality and let me play with the remote, and I fell in love. Then, "Let me see if I have an open box special we can get you!" That saved me some money. I don't care if the box is open! He also mentioned that any open boxes have been inspected at the store. SOLD! Their price on the open box special was a dollar more than I could have gotten on Amazon Prime. And I'm hesitant to buy something like a TV on Amazon since the biggest complaint there is getting a lemon and the pain involved in returning it. I told Shayne that I was also looking for a sound bar to go with my new TV, and he showed me what he had. Video Only has some SERIOUS sound bars in stock, from all the best brands. I wound up homing in on a Bose after some back and forth about price point and what I was looking for. What sold me on the Bose I wound up taking home was the dedicated center channel that makes dialog clear. And after giving it a good testing after getting it home and hooked up, yeah, dialog is CRYSTAL clear. Shayne then ran me through the financing options. They go through Synchrony bank, which I am familiar with, as I have a few credit cards through them. 18 months at zero interest and no penalties to pay it off early? Sign me up! Where Shayne crossed over from video rock star to video GOD was getting this TV into my car. We messed with it a bit in the box, and determined that it just wouldn't fit in the box. Well, open box special, I've got no problem unboxing my new toy to get it in the car. After a little bit of finessing it in there, Shayne got it to fit in my car. Talk about customer service! This is the time of year to buy a TV, and Video Only is the place to get it. I did much research on our desired TV - an upgrade to a 65'' and a purchase of an accompanying sound bar. We knew the competitor's prices, models, and brands we wanted to check out. Video Only was supposed to be our FIRST stop, but ended up being our first and LAST! *TIP: go during the Black Friday sales, which start 1 week before Thanksgiving. Prices on TVs are cheapest during THIS week all year. They go up slightly after Christmas, and drop again at Superbowl - but then you're looking at older models which are almost all sold out. However, even if you can't go in November, I feel confident they would always carry the top brands (no Vizio, sorry) and the best price. Back to our experience: Eric (the Viking) approached us as we browsed their huge selection of beautiful televisions which are nicely displayed in a circular walk-through. He was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and respectful of our opinions and needs. Since we were really considering many options, he walked away a few times giving us ample time and space to discuss our options. I saw several other salespeople helping people with similar tactics - an exchange between a helpful, non-pushy expert and a customer getting their needs met. Eric guaranteed delivery within 2 days PLUS assembly! We ended up buying a 65'' LG television with 4K quality, a sound bar, and a neat TV stand to boot. Compared to their day-to-day prices, with the Black Friday deal, we ended up saving thousands of dollars. Bought Samsung Q60 here was told they just took it out of the box not even an hour ago. it's brand new and all they had so I said sure it's only an hour it's considered new. Got home uploaded the Samsung app and it tells me over 700 hours of screen time. Been trying return it or get a replacement can't even get ahold of anyone. read more

We made a decision after much contemplation AND the assurance that we have up to 30 days after purchase to return it, if not satisfied. At NO time was there any mention that, if after opening the boxes, we could only get store credit and no refund. I know this goes against what many other reviewers have said, but I had a terrible customer service experience. I was recently doing some price shopping for a flat screen and decided to stop in (thanks to those horrific radio commercials that stick in your head). I was just browsing the television selection when an employee approached me and asked if he could be of any assistance. I told him politely that I was just looking at the available floor models and prices. I expected him to move on to other customers, but he asked what I was looking for. I mentioned again I was just looking at the selection. He then began to follow me around the section asking me what exactly I was looking for and that I could/should not look if I didn't know what my needs where. After telling him a few times that I was just looking, I will admit I became increasingly agitated by his persistent pestering. I eventually told him firmly that I did not appreciate his help and to please leave me alone. As if he didn't understand, he continued to lecture on the need to know exactly what my needs where. I loudly told him to "LEAVE ME ALONE." He gestured towards a television and began opening his mouth. That's when I stormed out of the store. I ended up getting a great television delivered by Amazon. I gave them two stars because they had a wide selection of televisions. I did not have the opportunity to learn much about them though. read more

I've purchased a Video Only on several occasions through the years. This location was no different. Most TV'S are now priced the same everywhere you go. The model we were looking at was priced the same there as online at Amazon and Costco. The benefit but also drawback of Video Only is you can see dang near every model on display. Also they can show you differences right there and you can see is as they show you. The only drawback is that it's kind of like a car dealership. Sometimes the sales staff can be over aggressive. If you can deal with that then you may also be able to get them to come down some on the price. Just remember you can pay the same online and have it delivered to your house. So don't let the pressure get to you. read more

We've been buying TV's here for literally decades. Last time, we bought two. I guarantee however that we will never step foot in the place again. Five months ago, one of the two we bought right after Christmas '18, flashed white and then the screen went black. It never came back on. When we called the store, they said they had no repair options, and would not replace the TV. It was a name brand, and only 15 months old. We took our business elsewhere to replace it. I'd rather spend a little more elsewhere, and get actual customer service, as well as a TV that doesn't cost several hundred dollars (not a big screen) doesn't cease to work after only 15 months. read more

I've purchased 2 big screen televisions from Video Only in the past 10 or so years. My second purchase was a bit of a disappointment; not the tv but the after-sale service. I had entered the store with the intention of purchasing a Samsung after having read reviews and talked with friends who had purchased one.6 The salesman steered me towards a Toshiba and showed me a Consumer Reports review of the product. I ended up purchasing the Toshiba as well as (lucky for me) an extended warranty for another hundred or so bucks. The Toshiba puked right after the manufacturer warranty expired so it was up to the secondary warranty to kick in. After the repair folks condemned the set as non repairable, the warranty folks kicked in for a "new" television. Granted, it was 3 inches larger and supposedly a better set but imagine my surprise when I see that the set was not "new' but "refurbished" with only a 90 warranty. I was informed that I could purchase a new warranty for another couple of hundred bucks. I passed A year later the set is still going but now I'm seeing white lines at the top of the screen. My rant isn't for the actual products because face it, stuff wears out and won't last forever. My beef is with the extended warranty offered by Video Only. You're better off going with one of the warranties offered on line by Square Trade or one of the others out there. read more

Bought a new home in Chehalis. Wanted a bigger big screen TV. Only place to go, Video Only. The only place that I have purchased TVs since moving to Pierce County. Chose the store in Tacoma vs Portland as that was the one that I was most familiar with, besides it being slightly closer (in spite of the potential tax savings). Met a young man by the name of Kyler (now promoted to Sales Manager). Knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and listened to what we had to say before making any recommendations as to which one we should chose. Bottom line, we purchased a 75" Samsung and a quality sound bar system. We are more than pleased with our purchase. Today, some months later, I am having trouble connecting this TV to Peacock. Called Kyler. He took the time to walk me through the connection. Again, knowledgeable, professional, and most helpful. If I could give the Tacoma Video Only a Zero star I would. I worked with a sales associate Branden, the engagement went well. As we were ringing up for our new TV I asked the sales guy what their return policy was, he has informed me that there was a 30 day return policy if I wasn't 100% satisfied with the product. Of course after spending almost $4000.00 on a TV we went home and opened up our new product, unfortunately we are not satisfied. We called to return, and they then inform us that the box can not be opened. How do I know if I like the product if I can't open it. I talked to the store manager, which was an absolute joke, he laughed at me on the phone and said I was ridiculous for saying the tv wasn't of quality. How unprofessional. I got a hold of the district manager who was no help at all. He informed me that if we would have bought a cheaper TV they might be able to return it. How does that make sense? Because I spent $4000 dollars they cant refund me... shouldn't I be a value customer. My experience went from great to bad in a 48 hour period of time. I would definitely tell every one not to purchase at this place of business. You may spend a little more at Best Buy, but you will be taken care of and that is for sure. The managers at Video only have no customer service. I contacted a lawyer and thank God, He can help me. Well I love Video only but kinda had a disopointing experience. I purchased a Samsung 32in on 7/30. I was told explicitly that it had Bluetooth capability. I get it home and set up only to find out it doesnt. I trusted the salesman when he told me it did. It was frustrating. I still think Video Only is a good outlet. I had heard an ad on the radio for a blue ray player with wifii for $59... when I went into the store the sales man said the only one he had was for $89. When he looked at a sales paper in his pocket he stated that they only one one floor model that was sold. I asked him why would they advertise on the radio about a product that each store only had one of???? He stated that probably to get customers in the store... I also said that why would I buy for $89 when Costco had for $79... He apologized and I walked out.... Later, I was embarrassed for the sales man as this is not his fault.
