This is going to be an excellent story so buckle up. I am a nurse practitioner, and I am supposed to be on call for my patients. I dropped my phone in the bathtub like an idiot, and it completely died. Luckily, I had ordered the new iPhone as an upgrade and it was supposed to arrive the next day. It never did so. I ordered it again through Apple after canceling the order. I show up to Apple and I was having security issues with my account did not have access to a phone and was unable to get my phone. I called ATT Four times and talked to a different person each time for up to 20 minutes. When I initially walked into the store and it was my turn to speak with somebody, they told me there wasn't much they could do help. I would likely have to wait 24 hours to bypass some type of security issue with the account and I didn't have 24 hours because number one the government is shut down. I'm not getting paid and I've already spent so much money three times getting a phone online and I'm on call. I put my head down in the store and started bawling. And then Roger came to the rescue. Roger is the manager and Roger knows what he's doing. He actually cares about you. I never thought that at 33 years old that I would have a public crash out at a cell phone store, but I did. Roger bypassed the security knew exactly what to do in a matter of 10 minutes handed me an iPhone 17 turned it on how did everything transfer transferred. Helped me pay for it. Handed me a box of tissues and a glass of water. This man probably provides cell phones to Jesus I'm almost certain He has an instant swipe card into heaven. I promise you he does. I left the store with the iPhone, while Apple because I had to go to that store twice was blaming my cell phone carrier for all the issues instead of helping me. I just had to dog on apple for a minute because they're terrible. They're getting a review too. But Roger saved the day I had a case, A screen protector that they put on in the store for me, and a water bottle. Roger was mentally and emotionally more supportive to me than my own parents have ever been in my entire lifetime. And if corporate sees this, you better give Roger the fattest raise because not only did he take care of me, but he helped me facilitate caring for our soldiers read more

I previously had a bad experience with the authorized retailer AT&T (in university place - don't go there!) so I was a little weary about coming in, but this location is a corporate location so you can trust these employees! Stopped into this local AT&T store today to exchange my girlfriend's new iPhone 4s. She got a defective one, the lock button worked only occasionally. We called ahead and asked if they had any in stock to which the gentlemen on the phone replied they did. We asked when we arrived and they could not find one set aside for us, small inconvenience but they had more so no big deal. The switch out took probably 20 mins or more. They had problem finding the receipt in their own system, and then took forever to get through the switch and manager approval. The lady helping us was nice, but not a lot of personality of drive to get us out of there fast. In the end we walked away with a brand new iPhone, nothing out of pocket (within 30 days), and happy campers. Going to any AT&T store is something you dread, but I would go here again if the need arose in the future. read more

This company needs to train its workers. My husband went in to buy an item, and we know as a Microsoft employee, he qualifies for the 50% off. We have been AT&T customers for over a decade and we know this is how it works. So my husband is telling them and they are adamant that the item doesn't qualify for the discount. He even has someone else back the other sales person up and say no it does not qualify. My husband buys it, goes outside, and notices he can buy it directly through AT&T for 50% off with his discount and free shipping. So he goes back to return the item and he explains. The lady looks at my husbands account and says "oh ya, I do see you would get 50% off. The other gentleman didn't look at your account . I think if they would have just taken the extra step and given just a little bit of customer service, all of the unnecessary steps of buying, returning, buying online etc could have been prevented. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I left the store crying if that gives you an idea of my shopping experience here at this branch. We began with Teddy, the Assistant Manager, and we were upgraded to the Manager, can't remember her name, but she was very professional. We spent over 90 minutes here, and walked out without resolving anything. She had written (pen on the back of a paper that resembled scrap paper) on 3 different pages of paper to "help clarify" any/all changes to our plan if we chose to make changes. While I love the convenience of a phone, I do not enjoy the shopping experiences I have had at this branch. read more

Today, December 26, 2020 at 11:00am when they unlocked the doors I was the first customer of the day - there to return an iPhone12ProMax(512g) because it was too big for my spouse. I bought the item online on 12/15/2020 because it touted "free and easy returns". The clerk told me that I would have to pay $55 restock fee because the phone had been opened. It's true, we opened the box and held the phone in our hands, but never even turned it on. It was gonna cost us $55 dollars for removing the cellophane wrapper from the box. I told the clerk this was bs. His reaction shocked me. He came flying around the plexiglass divider, got in my face and said "what did you say to me?" "You can't talk to me that way". This animated response prompted 2 other employees to join him. Leaving me speechless standing toe to toe with 3 of the 6 employees in the store. I asked to talk to the manager, and one of the 3 claimed to be the manager. He took over for the clerk and continued to work on my return. The original clerk was standing nearby. Next, the manager went to the back room to "check on something" and I told the original clerk that I was going to report him. Then, he loudly said "what did you say to me" and two other employees joined in again. One of the employees called me an A**H*** and threatened me, saying I was lucky I was old. The manager said I threatened his employees and said he would not process my return and ordered me to leave the store. Standing at the door I complained I was being threatened and called an A** Hole, and they said I was causing a scene and they would call the police if I didn't leave. I am old, and I remember the days when the "customer is always right", and when free actually meant free. I've been an AT&T customer for over 30 years. But if this is how I can expect to be treated when I visit their store and disagree with a return policy, it's time to move on. read more

I have to give a huge shout out to Natalie who spent several hours helping me get multiple phone set up after multiple visits to the store. She was extremely helpful and very kind. Unfortunately, she is transferring to another store but I am very thankful for her wonderful customer service. It will be missed. I ended up having to go back a couple days later when she wasn't working and David helped me. He was condescending and clearly didn't want to be at work that day helping customers. I'm sure we all have bad days but I was alarmed by the jokes he made about price gouging me. Thanks to Natalie I knew exactly what I needed. He seemed off-put by that. Maybe because it didn't help his commission? Either way, I was disappointed to be treated like an inconvenience to him. This store is really conveniently located at the mall, but not inside the mall. I finally was able to upgrade my iPhone - I didn't buy Apple care and the speaker went out - which means my phone wouldn't ring. The customer service (Jim) was great and you can now either buy Apple care or AT&T insurance (which covers drops, spills, accidents). Or both if you wanted to. Jim was patient and told me about the trade-in credit available if you want to get rid of your prior iPhone. You can actually "trade-in" at any time, I didn't know that. And shared his thoughts on the iPad mini, which convinced me that it was a better buy versus the iPad w/Retina display (I was trying to make a decision between the two - but now I'm certain I want the mini). They have a system now where you can make appointments, which I thought was pretty cool. I didn't have an appointment, but only had to wait a few minutes. So I'm going back for an iPad...Yay! BTW - if you've always been an AT&T iphone user, like I have... the data prices are locked in. I only pay $20 for unlimited data! read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would! This location did some real shady things to me. They pulled my credit without my authorization or knowledge. I advise all customers that check your credit report if you see DirectTv HARD PULLS on your credit and aren't aware of it, well its from AT&T. I have contacted management and AT&T they still have not resolved the issue. Not good customer service. As a customer of 10 plus years, AT&T has lost me as a customer! UPDATE: Contacted BBB and they sorted it out. It's apparently a common issue with ATT retail stores with poor management and untrained employees. Actually, what happened we bought phones in Walmart and with returning policy, we returned it back within 14 days. After one week we received a bill with $1400. About one and half month we couldn't solve this problem. We called at&t customer service and they told us to go to Walmart, we went to Walmart, they told us to go to AT&T's, we were really angry about this situation. And every month there was plus $100. The problem is they couldn't find the second phone in their warehouse, that we returned within 14 days. After, last time we decided to go to AT&T again to solve this problem. We are lucky, we met Laeshun K. She called different numbers, spoke with 5-8 people and finally after two hours she solved this problem for us. We are so grateful! I've been to this location twice. Once right after getting picked up from the airport when I got back to the USA after living abroad for 12 years to pick up a IPhone 4S. Today I went back to get my iPad 3 added to my iPhone shared account instead of having it's own. The members working there today were very prompt with customers coming in the door and helping them out. Even the jackasses that were there making trouble were treated with respect. Took awhile to get it all taken care of but it was done right before I left the store so the wait was worth it. Cute asian chick even walked me to the door and opened it out. Came into this location at the mall and was welcome by a very friendly and beautiful African American girl. I wish I could remember her name to include it in this. She was very funny and involved in conversation with us about many different things. She was very personable and helped me handle several issues I was having with my account. She even fixed the discount issue I have been having with ATT for over 6 months. We were truly considering dropping ATT because it the issues but she was so nice and helpful that it all worked out. It's not often that I need to go into the cell phone store, mostly I call when I have an issue, but when I do go in I have been lucky enough more than once to receive help from the manager Laeshun. I have had such positive experiences at this store I felt it was worth noting and I generally don't even Yelp! Laeshun and the rest of the crew have always been upbeat, friendly, and personable. Laeshun goes above and beyond to help with whatever questions or issues I may have. She knows what's what and what would work in my best interest. She talked to me about my plan, my phone, my data, and told me what she recommended but also let me know the different options and asked me questions to really make sure everything I was getting was my perfect fit. This place is absolutley amazing in terms of customer service, variety of phone plan options, and great prices for the great coverage and high speed internet. Offered me a brand new phone after I bought my phone because the speaker sounded bad. Sat with us for an hour plus when we first bought our phones to transfer our data from our old phones, answer questions, and show us a bit about how to use the phones. They are wonderful and will take great care of you. Every time I've called customer service, they were clear and understandable and very helpful. They are wonderful! This place is despicable! Come in to upgrade phone told worker I've been given the run around. He starts talking about how ashy his hands are and getting off work. Tell him I'm also buying my boyfriend a phone as well. Worker starts talking about what time he gets off work and how he's going to go shopping. Seriously, I didn't care for that. I understand people being kind and friendly when helping customers, but when someone tells you all they want is phone upgrade, then you need to do just that. I went to this AT&T store to get my iPad added to my data bundle. The iPad was previously on a month to month plan. Jesus offered to help me as I entered the door. No hunting around for an employee to assist. I explained what I wanted to do with the iPad and he immediately understood my intentions and got to work on my account. Without even asking he offered me a $100 dollar account credit for moving the iPad over. He also credited my account $40 for the remaining data balance from my month to month account. I walked out the door with an iPad data plan that was $10 (old plan was $50) and $140. I think I need to visit this store more often! Great customer service and very knowledgable staff. read more

It's hard to accurately review cell phone stores, because it's always such a mixed bag of experience from one time to the next. I've never really encountered one where the service is consistent; some days it's awful, some days it's efficient. My personal experience with this AT&T store was great. I decided that I was going to switch from an old slidey phone on Verizon to a smart phone on a pre-paid contract to save money. I ended up getting a used iPhone for $30, and a prepaid contract for $25/mo. You just can't beat a smart phone for $25/mo. That's an AWESOME deal. I had shopped around and for unlimited text and a small handful of emergency minutes, no one offered anything comparable. Initially I had spoke with Jalani (sp?) and he was awesome about it. Ready to help right away, no BS, just got straight to the point and offered me exactly what I wanted, no upselling or anything (which I appreciate - he listened). When I returned to purchase the plan, I asked for him but he was unavailable, and Tatiyana (sp?) helped me instead. She was great as well... had me up and running with my old cell number ported in a matter of about 15 minutes. Again, no attempts at up-selling or bugging me to buy x product and y product and yadda yadda yadda. Straight to the point. So why am I not rating this store higher? While I had a great experience setting up my own plan, I have visited many times with my girlfriend regarding hers and been not only disappointed, but downright frustrated as well. Unfortunately, this accounts for the majority of my visits to this store. It's annoying when my girlfriend simply has ONE question about insurance, and they have some teenage girl telling us to put our name on a waiting list. I've worked for cell phone companies, and standard training briefs you on these basic procedures. I can understand if the position of "Person-who-stands-at-the-door-and-puts-names-on-a-waiting-list" isn't highly trained in tech support, but as an employee of the company you should AT LEAST know some basic things about it's products. When we asked her a simple question about the insurance, she dodged the question entirely and recommended that we put our name on the waiting list and in 20 minutes a rep could help us. Wait TWENTY minutes to ask ONE question? No thanks. We declined her generous offer and she claimed that the only other way would be to call customer service. We tried that from one of the store phones, but the hold time there was about 20 minutes as well! Also, my girlfriend had forgotten the account password (lame...) After standing around for 10 minutes and watching numerous reps just standing by themselves or talking to co-workers, I decided to just walk up and ask. The rep I spoke with answered our question in 30 seconds flat, as it did not even require her to divulge any account information. Was that really worth the hassle? Seriously? While I have found two GREAT employees at this store, we have also encountered several that just seem apathetic, or unconcerned with doing their job. Unfortunately, due to that I can't exactly rate this store highly. If you do visit this store, ask for Jalani or Tatiyana (I feel bad, I don't know how to spell their names properly). They are both very helpful and efficient, and the store desperately needs more employees like them. read more

Have always had luck with this store.... Except when I have a problem. Doing simple things is fine - upgrading phones, changing plans etc. All great service during those times. But I walked into the store about a month ago with a few issues I had and changes I needed that were above and beyond the normal customers needs. The customer service rep was nice - for about a minute until she told us to stop talking because her brain can only process one thing at a time and if we distract her she may mess up. No joke. After a while we asked for the manager because this girl was just not cutting it. He proceeded to laugh and chuckle every time we asked for something and simply said 'you'll have to call customer care for that'. They could literally do NOTHING it was always 'call customer care, we can't do that'. Worthless. So we got home, called customer care and they had to bounce us back and forth to 4 or 5 different people because the manager at the store had messed up or locked out our account somehow (no idea how, but customer care assured us it was the people in the store, not us). So then I called the manager back to say we had just spent 2 hours on the phone with customer care because they messed up our account and he laughed, again, and said 'maybe your should file a complaint. Call customer care.' I could have jumped through the phone and strangled him. Rude. Lesson learned, don't waste your time with these people if you have something beyond needing an upgrade. read more

This store screwed up my ENTIRE plan. I SPECIFICALLY asked the representative if changing my plan to get the new military discount would affect my unlimited MiFi device data and he said no. After hours on the phone with AT&T (who did nothing) I went back to them to correct the mistake they said there was nothing to be done. I should have listened to my husband and gone to the AT&T store on 38th. They've always had phenomenal service and corrected this store's mistake. Apparently there was a memo issued a week prior that said changing to the new unlimited plan invalidates the current unlimited for MiFi devices. The lesson: read the memo to make sure you have the knowledge to do your job. read more

I was super impressed by the service I received at this location. I first came to the store to buy a tempered glass screen protector for my iPhone. My sister came along and bought one for hers as well. The woman who helped us was very nice and put the screen protectors on for us very quickly. A couple of days later the screen protector on my sister's phone was coming up on the edges and the corner cracked when she removed her case because it was not put on correctly. We took it back to the store and replaced it for free. They even had their most experienced person put on the new screen protector. They were very nice to us even though we do not have our phones contracted with AT&T. Both times there were enough employees to help the multiple customers in the store so we never had to wait. I appreciated that they were able to help us quickly both times and overall I had a very pleasant experience. I would definitely come back to this location. read more

I'm a Wounded Warrior that got Retired from the Army due to injuries I sustained in Iraq. If your wondering why Im saying this is because i was a Staff Sergeant Promotable to Sergeant First Class which is similar to a Supervisor promotable to Manager but not only do we train our soldiers (Employee) on there job but to also prepare them for the worst (War). I been going to different AT&T stores but this AT&T Corporation in Tacoma Mall is the best and only AT&T I go to and I still recommend anyone and especially to soldiers to come here. I currently live in Bellevue which is about an hour and a half away but it's worth driving here because your employees especially AJ Roper who goes out of his way to assist me with multiple problem I have with my devices. I been coming here so many times and I always look for him because I know he knows what his doing. There were multiple times I'll act like I don't know a problem with my device to see if he knows an answer to a problem and to see if he would help me out, I ask and every time I have a problem, he always have an answer. Had a good experience when i bought my phone however when i go back they aren't accommodating at all. I got the s8+ and they recommended the glass zagg screen protector. They told me if i needed it replaced i could go into the mall and they would replace it there making it easy and convenient. However I've had my phone 2 weeks and the screen protector wasn't put on right so it keeps coming off, finially the last time it came off it fell and cracked. I got time to go in to get it replaced and the Zagg place doesnt even carry this screen protector so i went to att and they wouldnt even swap it out for me and told me to come back in 45 minutes. I have a tight work schedule and rarely get the time come to the mall let alone wait 45 minutes to get something so simple from the manager who doesn't want to come out of the back room for 2 minutes read more

Terrible employees and management. They lied to me to make a sale and when I went in and asked why they didn't tell me about the extra charges I'd see they admitted it was they're fault but went on to treat me poorly and telling me it's my fault and they wouldn't help me even though they admitted it was they're fault about lying about what my bill would be. I also requested a call back from the manager and had her treat me like I'm dumb and then she hung up on me when I asked if there was anything that could be done to fix they're mistake. Do not go here. The manager needs to be replaced and the employees need to be retrained. AT&T is amazing but this store is the worst place I've ever been to and had to deal with. read more
