I knew what I had to do. It was time for an upgrade. But was it absolutely insane to try to buy a new iPhone on the day it came out? As a child of the early 2000s, I thought so. But I decided to call AT&T in Lincoln Plaza anyways to see if they had the new iphone. As I prepared myself for a long wait time on hold, I was surprised that the store manager answered the phone on the second ring. She told me they did have the new iPhone and to come on in. As I drove to AT&T, I braced myself for a store full of tech bros, frustrated seniors, and perhaps screaming children. When I opened the door to AT&T, I was stunned and delighted to see that there was only one customer there and multiple sales associates available!! David helped me purchase my new phone. He was extremely accommodating, communicated wait times and inventory effectively, and overall had a friendly energy that couldn't help but make you smile. And it wasn't just me! As more customers came in, everyone in the store was laughing and chatting with each other. I was in and out in 30 minutes. As David helped me, the other sales associates did an amazing job of communicating and supporting customers as they, together, worked to resolve any and every issue that came up. The store didn't have something that I wanted and David recommended other stores that I could look at to meet my needs. I had prepared myself for wait times, angry people, and overwhelmed staff but the AT&T in Lincoln Plaza greeted me with a calm serene environment, exceptional staff care, and an overwhelmingly positive experience. ABOUT GABRIEL AND MANAGER THAT HID HER NAME TAG: Terrible terrible customer service. The workers here are completely unreliable and untrustworthy! I came in to upgrade my iPhone and was told my old phone was worth $1,000 for the trade in. The employee I worked with was Gabriel. I agreed to proceed with the upgrade. I bring my old iPhone a week later to return it (I had one month to return it after upgrading) and Gabriel is saying it's worth much less, not $1,000 like I was told and that I had to pay extra. I was furious because I only decided to upgrade because they said my old phone was worth $1,000 for trade in value. I ask how can this be, why did you tell me it was $1,000 initially and Gabriel tells me to just call customer service and they will refund me. I go home furious, and come back that day and tell them to figure it out at the store because I am not going to waste hours talking to customer service and them not being able to help me since it was Gabriel that lied to me. He lied to me about how much my old iPhone was worth, so he can fix it. I come back and he says oh no problem this is an easy fix I will fix it (I'm thinking why he didn't do this when i was here earlier in the day! He says he "fixed" and I will get an email of the receipt in an hour. I go home and hours later still no email. I call, he says he forgot and sending it again. Nothing. Then they were closed. I call next day, he's not in and the employee that worked says she's not sure what Gabriel was trying to send to come in the next day when he's in. I come in the next day, he says he's sending it again. No email. He is acting very surprised how I am not getting the emails. I ask for his manager and he says she's in a meeting to come see her in one hour. I leave and come back in one hour to speak with the manager. I tell her everything and she is very rude and tells me to calm down that I am being aggressive. She also hides her name tag so I can't see her name to file a complaint on her. So rude and unprofessional! Anyways, long story short, there was never no new receipt Gabriel was emailing me. He completely was lying about him fixing it and sending me an email. How can he lie he's been sending me an email for days!! Just tell me sorry I can't fix this I messed up when I told you your phone is worth $1,000. But no, he did not take credibility for his mistake in beginning and kept lying every encounter we had probably just to get rid of me. I am completely enraged with Gabriel and the manager at this location! I have never been lied to my face by a business like this before, repeatedly. Completely unacceptable. read more

Tacoma Mall location doesn't deserve 1 star ZERO stars and new management is needed immediately! Ridiculous that I've paid over $1200 in 7 months for 2 phones, not even the latest models- an iPhone 8plus and a 10. The ass AT&T manager said he couldn't look up my bill due to Covid, WHAT? You're kidding right? No, he was a total jerk! I FINALLY HAVE UNLIMITED DATA! I didn't even know AT&T brought it back but while I was in the store Laeshun and I ended up talking about my home and my entertainment system. Soon enough we got to talking about how I have DirecTV and how AT&T is offering unlimited data for DirecTV customers! I literally have been going over my data 3 to 4 GB per month and now I can use all of my music apps without worrying about getting data overages! This is what sales is all about finding out needs and solutions I didn't even know existed! I will continue to give the 38th St. AT&T my business due to Laushun and her coworkers! Giving this location a "high score of 1" because there is no minus 10. This store sold my mother a chip & a package for her phone, but they sold her a chip that is not compatible. No refunds! No effort to make it right. Told her the employees at this AT&T location don't know how to match the appropriate chip with the phone. Told her it will do no good to call corporate AT&T because they stand by employees with no education selling the incorrect parts & services. I was having technical issues with the phone that were starting to get beyond annoying. BUYER BEWARE!!!! AT&T IS A NIGHTMARE! I ordered internet & bundled with my Directv and paid my bill in advance $112.16. Plus $50/AT&T charged to my Directv account (Total I paid $162.16) So 31.08/month × 4 = 124.32 I should still have a credit of $37.84. Plus the $50/gift card promised and the referral of new customer. Yet nothing. I have called in to fix this over 20 time & at least an hour (3 hrs Tuesday)and got hung up on, transferred, promised call backs (pass the buck)and AT&T still hasn't resolved the issue because my bill is now over $114 ($45/late fees imagine that!) Then Directv won't reimburse the movies & taxes they charged me for UNAUTHORIZED purchases! I am sick over this and can't handle another migraine! What is so difficult! At this rate they should pay me to keep services with AT&T and Directv. I only got the internet for my husband, who passed less then a week from installation. read more

After the flight from hell, we ended up having to take a cab home. Husband lost in phone is said cab. Cab company naturally played dumb. AWESOME! As the one authorized to handle affairs on the account, I naturally got the wonderfulness of dealing with this situation that I was sure was going to be bad. He was still under contract and outside his upgrade so we figured he'd be SOL and have to buy a phone full price. Not so! We went to this store and explained our predicament. The manager went ahead and authorized upgrade pricing on the condition that we bought some accessories package that cost us like 70 bucks. WAY cheaper than buying the phone outright, lemme tell you! We were helped quickly too and greeted with a smile as we walked through the door. I forgot my ID and had to run home and get it, but in that time the associate had everything packed up and ready to go so when I walked in the door I just had to show ID and pay. I truly appreciate his forethought to have that all put together so it didn't take more time than I'd already wasted. If you have the misfortune of having AT&T for your service provider, these guys at least take the pain out of having to deal with someone in the store! read more

AT&T DISCRIMINATES AGAINST OLD PEOPLE AND PUTS THEM IN DANGER my sister lost her iphone on the 7th of this month. it was insured thru Assurian, via AT&T. she filed a claim on the 12th, and they said it would be 2 days. they have given her nothing but the run around. she has spent more than 8 hours in their store, trying to get a replacement phone. she left my number as a contact- you know, since they cant contact her. Nobody has called me about this matter, and i'm damn tired of them putting her in danger. I tried calling them, and they said they would have a manager call me- still nothing. i tried emailing them- nothing. I tried to contact Assurian, and they said "have her call us". How can she do that when she has no phone or email??? I ended up filing an FCC complaint against them. read more

Then I showed them my AT&T app that stated I was eligible for an upgrade. They said my app was wrong. I asked them to call the corporate office to verify my upgrade. They said they wouldn't. I left, called the 611 number. The customer service rep on the phone said I was eligible for an upgrade. It was unbelievable customer service. I recently switched from Verizon to AT&T. I went to a non corporate AT&T store and got terrible service. The guy was really nice but the answers he was giving me were all wrong. Trying to charge me over $300 for a new phone, then saying i didnt qualify for an upgrade (I JUST started a new service with them). I went to this store, and Breece helped me. I was SO pleased with her excellent service from start to finish, i wanted to hug her! I have never been treated so well while purchasing a phone. She was able to get me a great trade in deal, and a bunch of new accessories for my phone, and helped me set the whole thing up. First AT&T store I went to....HORRIBLE customer service. There were only 2 employees there...and it was basically empty. I tried to get some help about getting my Galaxy Note 3 getting activated and changing my number. Shouldn't be that difficult to do. Just rude and lazy customer service. I'm glad I found this place. Soooooo much better! It was a bit busy when I got there but I was acknowledged the moment I came in and had to wait just a few min until I got helped. All the times I've been there the employees were very kind and helpful. LOVED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Took awhile for everything to get figured out but the employee was there the entire time helping us out. I really did feel like they were doing all they could to help. A wonderful employee named Nick at this store helped an elderly, homebound woman that I know in Tacoma switch her AT&T service from prepaid to postpaid. She is unable to go to the store, which is typically the way it must be done to keep the number and everything else the same. However, he figured out how to do it by working with a representative on the phone, and they got it done. It took almost an hour of them working diligently, but they truly made her day. I have been charged for multiple data overages that I did not incur. I have 15 G of date to used every month. I live and work at home. I am only away home about 2% of the time. That means 98% percent of my phone usage is at home with a very strong wifi signal. I rarely use data. I called multiple times to resolve this. I was called a liar. I was forced to pay an average of 40 dollars xtra on several bills. All setting are correct on my phone. My apps are closed, when not in use. My data roaming is turned off. Again, I hardly ever used my phone outside of wifi range. They would claim I was using a gig in one hours time. I have received back to back text from ATT stating I had gone over. Some text are an hour apart, each text saying I used another gig. I went on their website to complain, and they said I was ranting, whining, and called me a liar. I have screenshots of these interactions. Needless to say, I am now with Sprint. I don't want anyone else to suffer the same nightmare I did. PLEADE DON'T USE ATT. Okay... so we spent a good part of the weekend going to 5 different AT&T stores and speaking to Customer Service getting the complete run around. It was awful. We kept getting told different things and our frustration was mounting. We went to the Tacoma store (our last attempt at getting our account figured out). Iris helped us and she tried to do the best she could but unfortunately her hands were tied because something had to be done on the customer services end. So we left feeling frustrated once again. After talking to Customer Loyalty we decided to give this one last attempt. They told us to go into the Tacoma Branch and that they would make sure THIS time that our transfer would be good. We met with Tu. He was amazing and so helpful. He sat with us and worked through all the issues that we encountered. He is a great employee and has exceptional service skills. He is literally the only reason that we decided to stay with AT&T... so y'all should give him a raise and then get your shit together? read more

My i-phone 4S was broken and I went in to get it replaced. I spoke with the sales agent, who could not help me and then with the manager and they were both disrespectful and rude. Neither of them would look me in the face and talk to me, they just kept their faces in their ipads acting like they were looking something up. They wanted to charge me $549.00 for a new i-phone 4S. I laughed at them. I was in an AT&T store less than a year ago and paid $99 for the same phone and I was not due for an upgrade. They looked it up on their ipad and saw it there, and then continued to say that the price was still $549.00 I explained how I would buy a new phone and have my contract start again from that point on. I have been a loyal customer for 10+ years with multiple lines and I am not going anywhere. You would think they would be a little more accommodating and helpful. The manager said she would have to call her "boss" and would get back to me within 24 hours if she could get approval to do that. It has not been 24 hours and I have not heard anything yet. I literally walked out of the store and called the 1-800 AT&T line and within 5 minutes had a brand new 4S phone being shipped to my house within 7 days for the price of $1.08 (with tax!) Don't waste your time at the store, it seems they are paid on commission and will not actually help a customer out. The gentleman on the phone thanked me for being a loyal customer for all of these years and he waived my shipping charge and the other fees that they have. When I get my phone next week I am going back to the store to share my experience with the manager there. Good luck! read more

Cane in with a broken camera screen and the sales person spent more time time trying to get me to spend money then trying to help me with that situation. As I did want a cover for my phone and a blue tooth, he showed me the most expensive ones first and tried to get me a wireless charger. He seemed more interested in his commission then my needs. This was the first AT&T store I went to when i had to get a personal account (I had an AT&T Corporate account). The two times I was there the associates were very helpful, however when I called as my 13 day old iphone 6 plus cracked and spoke to the manager (Nick) he was not at all helpful, said not inexpensive way to resolve the issue - rude and disrepectful which is why I am only rating this a one star - he soured me for the whole store (again the two associates were very helpful which is a shame). AT&T customer care has since taken care of the issue. read more
