Roan at Video Only was great. I went in to scope out what I was looking for as I as moving from a basic square box into the world of HD/Blue-Ray/and sound systems. Roan was helpful in guiding me towards a system that would be appropriate for the size of the room and my budget. I really appreciated his positive attitude and willingness to educate me about the electronics. (I went in one day when he wastn't working to confirm stock for a weekend delivery and another salesperson tried to help me . She was horrible and I finally told her that she clearly wasn't interested in helping me and I would come back when Roan was there). We stopped by this store on our way to visit Costco (thinking they had the best deal). Becki was our salesperson...very friendly and knowledgeable. The store had a nice selection of TVs. We were in the market for a 55 inch LED model. Prices were the same as Costco and they doubled the 1 year manufacturer's warranty like Costco. What set this place apart was free delivery and setup of the TV and...should any problems come up...we don't have to carry the TV back to Costco for service. Someone comes out to service the TV. Bought the TV on Saturday. Delivery done next day on Sunday. Awesome. Only reason that I didn't give the store 5 Stars - the actual store needs major updating, paint, carpet etc. Not a particularly pretty store but great overall experience. read more

I went into the store trying to troubleshoot a speaker problem. Matt had talked to me on the phone and invited me to bring in the suspect speaker so he could test it. Found out the Amp, not the speaker was the problem. Matt was honest and straightforward and incredibly knowledgeable in helping me find the right amp for my system. Later, I called Matt to report a different problem in my system and told him I was coming over to get a new TV. Matt advised to check my HDMI cables first, and to then check out the cable box for the TV. I rebooted the cable box thanks to Matt's suggestion--problem solved! We had a great experience here. Personally, I hate being accosted by sales people when I first walk in, and we were able to look around a few minutes, and then offered help. The building is a bit run down and needs new carpet, but, they have new TVs, which is what we were in the market for so. We told the rep what we were looking for (can't remember name), and we weren't in the market for the highest price tv,just something better than the very old , 90s, ice-chest -sized tv we currently had. He listened to us, gave us a few ideas, demo'd the product, and was able to answer all our questions. We thanked him, and then planned to look at Best Buy, just to research. Immediately, we had a rep offer to "help"us, tried to sell us well above what we really wanted or even had space for, struggled demonstrating stuff we wanted, demonstrated stuff we had no interest in, couldn't answer any of our questions, and when we pieced together the bundle that we decided we wanted at video only, we found we would have saved a whopping $1...so we went back and bought our set at video only. Beware! This store does not stand by its products. Even brand new items are apparently "as is" whether they say it or not, *and whether they work or not.* Though prices are indeed good, if a product simply does not work, the consumer is S.O.L. Thought this happened around Christmas, it's still stunning. I recommended this store to a friend of mine. She had saved for months to buy her kids/family a large, flat screen TV for Christmas. Ended up buying a very large floor model which apparently required a specific ($400) mounting system for the wall. Bought both. They showed me their joke of a return policy, which I commented on at the time. Long story short, mounting system ripped right out of wall, as soon as TV was mounted. This was the third wall mount I have installed, so yes, it was in the studs, in the CENTER of the studs, pre-drilled, yes - to the correct depth and with the correct drill bit. Even added two extra screws. Upon returning to store, they NEVER even asked what happened, just started blaming me for installing incorrectly. Went on and on listing the errors I likely made, and never even considered anything else. One salesman (and later a manager) commented that "maybe (I) should have used longer screws." Yes, they actually said this. On two different occasions, with one of them being a manager. Store manager would not offer ANY resolution. Therefore called manager of several stores. First comment was (literally!), "why would I give you your money back? You're never going to buy from us again, anyway." Other "suggestions" from various managers were: V.O.) "Sell it to a neighbor" CUST.) "Why would I screw one of my neighbors with an item that does not work? V.O.) "Then sell it on Craig's List "We can't take it back. How are we supposed to sell a USED wall mount? " "We can't return this to our distributor, that would be INSULTING." When I expressed surprise that a company would so blatantly screw someone over for $400, which is HUGE to a single mother, but easily written off by a retailer, I was told: " That same item is SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS across town!" (?) huh? So I should be happy I'm only out $400 for a product that doesn't do the ONE THING it was designed to do? After all, they could have stuck me for $600 (!?) BOTTOM LINE was this, with reference to their return policy: 1) Because the box was OPENED, they wouldn't give me my money back. 2) Because we had actually installed the wall mount and tried to USE it, Video Only *refused to even provide in store credit,* again saying they cant re-sell a USED item, so they wouldn't take it back Lastly they did ask once again why we thought we were entitled to a refund, I simply stated: "Because it's the right thing to do." No response. Manager again referenced the return policy and stated that because we had actually installed the wall mount system and attempted to hang the television (as designed), they would offer no recourse. How one is supposed to learn that an item DOESN'T WORK AT ALL without: 1) opening the package and 2) trying to actually USE the purchased item is beyond me. They didn't see a problem with this either. Video Only and the various managers never expressed any empathy, understanding or ever tried to resolve the matter. We were only greeted with a long list of never-ending accusations and reasons why they wouldn't stand behind their non-working product. Yes, they offer good prices. oh wow..... just wow..... so a while a go I went shopping for my first flat screen tv (I had a freakishly good console tv that had hell of a good picture.... I just got tired of people making fun of my tv.... lol) I walk in as this is my first stop. I have absolutely NO idea what I was looking for or what I should be looking for. What I did know was that I wanted more than 32" that was it. So I walk in and the store is dim and almost every third tv was on and half the volumes were up. That was a bit disorienting especially when each one was tuned to something different but hey... okay more power to them if they can work like that. The reasons I gave such a low score is I WAS THE ONLY CUSTOMER IN THE STORE.... and it took over 15 mins from the middle aged sales men to even say hello. They were too busy watching something on one of the tvs and talking to each other. Basically they gave off that 70's-80's vibe of me walking into a boys club and being a "simple female" did not deserve more than the barest of civilities. I really would have been okay with just a simple "hello" or "do you need help?" So I circle the store twice trying my best to compare tvs, prices, pictures, features.....(I have really never looked into flat screens so I was really kind of loss) Eventually I was asked (on my second round thru the store) If I was looking for something in particular.... I said ummmm no just kind of looking right now. As soon as I finished that sentence they stopped paying any kind of attention to me. I then followed up with my next sentences of I am looking for two tvs one for my living room and one for my crafting room so a decent sized one and a small one. But they were already talking to one another again making no effort to help me in the slightest. Then a man walked in and started looking around. The men looked up asked if they were looking for something in particular... he said no.... he was just looking and guess what???? one ran over to him and asked him questions, pointed a few out to him and then said if he needed anything or had any questions... he would b up front and and feel free to come up and get him..... ummmmmmmm okay.... I finish walking around and even look at one of the tvs right next to the men talking.... looking at the price tag, the features everything and they never said another word to me..... so I walked out and the next store I went to, answered all my questions, said hello, asked probing questions and when they found out I had never owned one before took the time to educate me on what they had..... so I bought two tvs for my house.....but not from these guys. read more

Employee actually argued with me. I went inside to compare prices. I was looking for a 27 inch TV. First, the employee stated that they "don't really make that size anymore," yes they do, you just don't carry them because you want me to buy a 70 inch. Then, I told them that Fred Meyers actually had a cheaper 27 inch than the 22 inch that Video Only was selling. He stated that it must not have been name brand, and when I confirmed that it was, he didn't believe me. Depends on what you are looking for. If you want a dirty warehouse with TV surrounding the walls and tons of boxes to push out the product in the middle, you found your place. If you are willing to pay $1,800 instead of $1,700 to get respectful service, clean show room, lots of options, return policies that are valid, and continued support, then go to Best Buy. Video only can't even make their own website work, dead links, cut and paste paint pictures, geeze. So, Video only is like the guy in the back alley selling TV's cheap, its nothing compared to a Best Buy type store. read more

I walked in with the intent of buying a new tv. The staff totally ignored me. There were 3 guys just standing around up front talking. I walked around the room once, then just walked out. I guess I could've approached them, but if they want to make a sale, they need to make the approach. They just acted like they had better things to do. I've been buying TVs from video only for about 15 years and have never had a problem. Always got a good price, felt good about buying local and liked the knowledgeable sales force. Wanted to call out this particular time. First, the sales manager (Ryan) talked me down from a larger, more expensive TV based on the space I'd be using it in. Then, I took the TV home, and after about 3 weeks while waiting for some remodelling to complete, installed it. And it didn't work! I had kept the box (per Ryan's reminder) and with some anxiety I took it back. No problem. Not only did they help me unload it, they replaced it and even extended my warranty for the trouble. A good service team should be measured by how they deal with things that went wrong, and these guys did great! read more

I will never buy a tv here again. I bought my Samsung tv almost a year ago today and it doesn't work anymore. Regretting not buying insurance. I didn't appreciate that the solution Video only sales rep Tom said was, "better off just buying a new one". I felt like he didn't really care and I was my fault I didn't buy the insurance. Not impressed. I didn't pay 1500 for a disposable tv. It would be nice if VIDEO ONLY carried quality products and stood by them even after a year. You will get great service in the beginning but don't expect great service when your not happy with your product. read more

This review is based out of 3 purchases by me, and couple of friends at different times over the past year. All of the purchases were for HDTVs (1 LCD Samsung, 2 Panasonic Plasma TVs). The information that the sales person give seem to be match the online research that I have done (w.r..t which is the best TV out there and the second best TV out there)... I guess they are keeping themselves up to date with their online research as well. The biggest reason why we all ended up purchasing at Video Only was the considerable difference in their pricing compared to BestBuy, Frys, or Ultimate Electronics. Right at the end of the deal, they could give you more discount to make you leave unhappy... I was surprising at the price reductions that I asked couple of times whehther the pieces that they sell are new and not opened boxes/refurbished. I haven't read anywhere online that they do such stuff... so, I have to believe them :-)... and also, all of our TVs had no issues so far. They seem very professional as they let you take your time, let you go check other store prices and come back for the same/better deal. Even their extended warranty is quite cheap ($99) but they don't sell that unless you ask for it (not sure how good it is as the sales person himself said that these TVs are high-end purchases and generally last with no problems, which is my opinion as well). I have no experience w.r.t. their 30 day policy as I saw customers complain about this policy at least other stores (like the one in Clackamas/Seattle). The only downside to purchasing here is that you have to extra for shipping (BestBuy does free shipping for any HDTV over $1000). read more

We had a really good experience with Jakob a couple of weeks back. Unfortunately, we couldn't buy the TV because, we were in a hurry to go somewhere else. But, Jakob had said that whenever we returned, he will be able to offer a good discount over whatever they were offering. Today, we went to the store again hoping to buy a good TV within our budget. However, Jakob was not available. We negotiated with Kyle on the price of a TV. This was an extremely unpleasant experience. First off, his tone was disrespectful. My husband and I were put off by that. Although, the deal he was offering was great, just not in our budget and we were only trying to negotiate if at all. It wasn't the deal that put us off but we weren't pleased with the service, specially the tone. When things did not work out we started walking out after an amicable 'Thank you'. But, before we even got to the door, Kyle turned to his colleagues and blurted out loud that "these guys will NEVER own a TV." I got upset and confronted him. He did apologize saying he didn't think we were still in the store which, is a lie. He wanted us to hear it and we definitely believe that this was a racially motivated insult. We are immigrants and the disrespect and condescension was not only in the words but also, in the body language. I hope people like Kyle would be held responsible in someway. I purchased a TV at this store over a year ago, but was impressed by the service that I got when purchasing. The sales people are very knowledgeable, much more so than any other store in the area, and are able to give you informed and solid opinions about their products. They seem to be the place to go to for side by side comparisons of products as their display TVs seem to all be tuned at least somewhat properly. Trying to get the same quality of comparison out of Best Buy or Fry's is an exercise in futility. Pricing was extremely competitive which was a bonus considering its a specialty store. I do believe that if I need to buy another TV, that I'll be visiting them again. read more

We bought 4 new TVs for a vacation home in Sun River. Unfortunately, we bought two 4k Panasonic HD TV's that both failed within 4 months of service (2 months the TV's sat in their boxes unused). Video only said that they could not do anything to help us since "their" 30 days had passed, so we had to call Panasonic directly. This proved to be a hugh pain in the tail to navigate their phone system and to get the repairs started. 3 weeks after we called we may have the TV's fixed. We will have to see if that happens. I also ask about Panasonic getting an extended warranty on the sets because of their poor track record and was told by Square Trade since they had a service history, they were no longer eligible for that service. My advice to all that read this review.... Don't buy a Panasonic product and don't but from Video Only. Costco will exchange a broken TV for a new one on the spot and they offer a free second year warranty on their purchases. read more
