The location is good and the variety is different from the other sunglass hut in Macy`s in the same mall . There stock is limited though so if you like a particular shade and for some reason (crooked or scratched) you want a different piece of it , its almost a certainty that they wont have it . It has happened to me far too often to say it's just once in a while . This eventually leads to wasted time . The staff is not the best at customer service , and I do see them behaving different to different clientele . Don't go here! worse customer ever ! Came in to buy glasses the girl that was working the counter was helping another couple and she stop to tell me to put the glasses in the box so I'm like ok will do. I tried on a pair and then I set them in the box and the lady started to yell out and say put in the box which already did litter said look I did. Wow felt like it was a degrading experience . I understand the instructions when I first came in and she ends up yelling in front of customer so I end up walking away. read more

Nice selection! 5 Star Customer Service with a capital C for Customer Focused. For a chain mall store I am surprised at the patient and quality help we've received every time we shop here. (Don't get confused, there are 2 Sunglass Huts in the WA SQ Mall - weird, I know, but this review is JUST for the larger of the two). And it's not always been the same person - each person (in this case they've all been females) gave us plenty of time, hands on assistance, was patient beyond belief (!) since I am super particular and didn't want any names on the side of my face. Shoot, they even offered honest opinions because why spend $$ if they don't suit you to a tee? Ultimately I decided on some stunning face jewelry since they had a new style of Persols that were worth every penny. Handmade, Italian, and beyond yummy looking! I wish I could recall the names of the two women who've helped us over a number of different trips, but they seem to be the only two who work there? Went in to pickup some sunglasses and the lady at the front "checked" for a new box, I saw the box, but she claimed she would only sell me the display model. I could see the new boxes and she said I'm not allowed to see within the drawer she opened. Terrible customer service at the lady workin on a Sunday afternoon. I went in to get 4 pairs of glasses for my kids wife and I today. When we got there there was a note that said be back shortly on the door. We looked inside and there was a one on one male worker and a female shopper. The worker comes to the door and says, go to Maceys for glasses he was to busy. We ended up spending close to 800 in glasses else where. Horrible customer service. read more

I just stopped by Sunglasses Hut in Washington Square mall and the store manager decided to close 10 minutes early. He told me this through the closed door. This was after coming down earlier in the week and finding them closed then too( hours were incorrectly posted on Google). Now I know why malls are dying. I had a terrible experience here. I made an order of two pairs of glasses and my entire order was wrong. When I went back to the store to return them the store manager Sonya was Incredibly rude and had an attitude. She spoke to me like I was stupid and immediately blamed me for the order being incorrect. I left the store very upset at the level of customer service I received from a store manager. read more

Sunglass hut, you guys have to get your business model together. I shopped around at 3 sunglass hut stores in the area for an extremely common pair of sunglasses they have. Come to find out that literally all sunglass hut stores don't keep actual stock of their glasses. You can only buy the display models. Had this experience at several of their stores. The display models they sell you off the floor have been tried on by a million people, sometimes have scratches, and have oil and smudge marks from peoples hands and faces. Even if they claim to wipe them down, it's downright gross to sell those. Any other type of business would never sell you a display model at full price. You want to charge me several hundreds of dollars for a used pair of sunglasses? Get out of here. We're not in downtown portland, you're in a mall. Just keep a few new ones in the display box for customers once they find what they want! It's pretty simple. read more

Well like many others I was in the market for some new shades I've shopped here in the past, However it had been almost 10 years since I needed a new pair I went in to try on a pair that I had seen online and was greeted with a warm welcome, no pressure and a great personality. The manager was super knowledgeable and helpful, I then returned to the "online store " after getting home and ordered the pair I had tried on and another color, as well as (2) other pair. I wanted to have a verity of colors, shapes and sizes. After the quick 2 day shipping straight from factory, I chose the pair I liked the best. I returned to the Washington square store just this evening and inquired about returning the others there. The manager again greeted me with a smile, a nice welcome and was so much more helpful than I was expecting, she not only forced the return through her system (even though I was supposed to return through the mail) but she was super personable, helpful and friendly. She even took the time to watch a funny little video with me. I would give her and her personality, the store and selection a 6th star if possible. I will definitely keep shopping here for years to come and I'm even considering a weekend/part time job here. Thank you Sunglasshut team! You guys are #1. read more

They have great sunglasses, but the service is clearly lacking. While I was in the store today, the sales associate helped 1 person while 4 others were ignored (and eventually left). I was greeted but wasn't offered help, didn't get informed of any promos, sales associate didn't check on me, nothing. I wanted to buy 2 pair ($300 sale) but they only sell the display model and the service was so poor it was a deal breaker for me. I high tailed it to Nordstrom and found a great pair of Raybans and fantastic customer service to boot! Get it together, Sunglass Hut! read more

I went in with a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses I purchased a while ago and realized I didn't like them. I thought because the business was inside Macy's, their return policy was just like Macy's, it was not. Sarshar was very polite to explain sunglasses return policy. What gave me the "wow" experience was he went above and beyond to phone management, and worked with me, assessed my needs, and helped me find a pair of sunglasses I wanted. I ended up walking away with a new pair of sunglasses that I wanted, and much less then what I was expecting to pay. Earlier this week I went to the sunglasses hut at Washington square looking for a very particular style of sunglasses to put my Rx into. The Manager, Josh, was so incredibly helpful! Another employee that helped us was really great too. I actually had to buy and return 3 different pairs and take them down to LensCrafters to see if they could make my Rx work in each frame (it is way more complicated than you would think, but it was a particular style and Rx). It was a total pain in the ass, but the helpful people at sunglasses hut made the experience so much better. I've never really written a review for a store, but this guy and girl were so helpful and nice. Best service I've ever had at the mall (anywhere really), and I'd go back in a heartbeat. I went to find a pair of Raybans today at the Sunglasses hut. The lady who was helping me must have been new because she couldn't answer any of my basic questions as to what size the glasses were, if they had the pair I was looking for etc. and kept just pointing to the manager. They didn't have the pair I was looking for and offered to order them for me online. The girl also didn't know how to do this and kept asking the manager for help. The manager wouldn't just order the glasses for us and 20 minutes had gone by of us watching the girl try to order the glasses. I asked if I could review the order before she placed it to make sure my address was correct because she didn't read it back to me and she placed the order without letting me double check it. When I double checked it after the order had been placed, my street name was spelled wrong, city was spelled wrong, and even the word California was spelled wrong. Apparently there's a new state called califorina. Hopefully the raybans arrive to my house as they couldn't fix the problem and tried calling multiple stores that didn't have the same systems as them so they couldn't check it. Felt bad for the girl because she obviously needed more training and had no idea what she was doing. At that point the manager should've taken over and ordered the glasses for us instead of leaving us in agony watching this girl try to figure out the register and mess up the purchase. Should've just left and gone to a different sunglasses hut. read more
