This is my second year coming to this location and was pleasantly surprised by my most recent experience that I had to write a review. From the time I came in, got my eyes checked, and checked out for contacts/frames, I was done in exactly 30 minutes. No long unnecessary wait times, even for a 3pm appointment. Loved how efficient the staff were. They even gave me a call to let me know my insurance benefits weren't ready until a specific time so I had to reschedule but that part was easy as well. I went to visionworks for the first time today. Elias was the employee who helped fill my eyeglass prescription. my experience with Elias was outstanding. I have worn glasses for many years. Elias was the first employee who was able to explain the benefits of nose clips versus non nose clips on the glasses. He was the first employee able to explain The benefits of lines on bifocals versus no lines. He was able to clearly explain my available insurance benefits. Definitely recommend Visionworks and definitely recommend working with Elias to help you get your glasses. read more

Just today I picked up my glasses for the third time. They can't get it right. I finally told them to forget the computer lens at the top. The person who waited on me . . . picking up the 3rd attempt . . . very subtly communicated to me that it was probably my fault, an old lady who has lost touch. (not true) These were not cheep glasses. $450. I will never ever go back there. As an author and editor, I use my eyes all day every day. I'm highly intelligent and know if my glasses are working or not. read more

I have been going to the same place close to my house for my glasses and contacts for years and years. The last few years have been just ridiculous because they close super early and genuinely making an appointment would take weeks. Then their customer service was beyond lacking - I don't need you to kiss my ass but maybe you could pretend I have a choice as to where to go - y'all charge around the same for around the same soooo if I have to deal with attitude from someone to try and get an appointment that is weeks out I lose patience fast. I was just treated like complete garbage and sitting in the paring lot of the previous place I had been with for eons who delayed me in their overfull lobby so long then said I was over 15 minutes late (I wasn't) and getting the first appointment was like hostage negotiations. I called Visionworks and was in shock because I made an appointment easily for the next day with their virtual assistant... like their over the phone thing was nicer to deal with than the human at the old place. Because I had taken a half day to try to see the old place I got stuck at work and was GENUINELY this time over 15 minutes late since I needed to drive across Hillsboro and Beaverton. I was just thinking seriously... now I AM this late OMFG... Mortified but I also genuinely do not really run around during the day - I work a lot and am just blind to the state of the roads. I ended up chatting with a bunch of the office peeps who were so kind about saying that I would need to reschedule but I filled out all the stuff and picked out some frames to save all that time while I was already here. And they were busy but genuinely caring for everyone with kindness. When I came back for my appointment they just made everything so nice, efficient and everyone worked together. I had to wait awhile but they told me they were setting stuff up and kept me updated. I needed to hold off on ordering my glasses for payday and calling them back was easy - they are probably far busier than my prior spot but you don't feel that. I used to dread even calling my old spot for an appointment so it is nice to have a new place without that drama. read more

Excellent and super friendly service every time. This year I came in with an expired discount mailer and realized my insurance only paid for frames every 2 years :(. Jacob and Lily were amazing and were able to get me a new discount coupon that day and I was able to leave with purchasing 2 new pairs of glasses. They didn't have to do that and they would have seen me back in Jan (they likely will still see me lol). I was super appreciative of that! There are 3 other visionworks locations closer to home but I've been going to this one for several years now by Washington Square because they've been so great every year. read more

I called the day before and was told my glasses wouldn't be ready for at least a week. I randomly drove by the next day and decided to stop by. I was told they were ready and had been there for awhile. I tried them on and they fit well so I went to leave. I got in my car and realized that they hadn't given me my Coach case back. So I went back inside and asked them for my case. They immediately pulled it out and didn't apologize. They were obviously trying to keep my case and the customer service was horrendous therefore I won't be back. read more

The receptionist had the worst attitude. I was on time For my appointment but made to wait while she kept talking to someone else. Most terrible service ever. Have no compassion for new mother i did tell her i have to get back to the baby but she refused to accomodate. Terrible attitude terrible obnoxious behavior. Honestly I've visited vision works over a 2 years ago and my experience then wasn't that great. But fast forward to 2022 and what a turn around! Following Covid protocols and very clean store! The employees have fun with you! And make the experience quick and easy! Lily the wonderful employee to help me pick my frames. She actually offered to help me pick them out as I also shop around to pick them out. I've never had that and it was amazing because we get to see ourselves to a point as they don't have my prescription in them so it's all blurry and just having someone else help and see me was just amazing! As I picked one pair I turn and she had picked like 15 so that was sooooo helpful!! She even got me out of my comfort zone an got me into different frames! Took me outside to take my mask off to see what I look like fully. I'm so excited!! Seriously give them another chance!! :) read more

The glasses I bought broke after 6 months and they wanted me to buy new frames. Apparently their glasses only have a shirt warranty. The frames were crap and should t have ever broken. Glasses should last a lot longer then 6 months. Beware of flimsy shorty products. read more

Came here a few months ago for an eye exam. I don't have any complaints there. In fact, I was gonna lump the review together, and that would've brought the star rating up. Because I think the eye doctor side of the house is actually a different company, so I may just review them separately. This review is strictly for the eyeglass retail section of this Visionworks location. They have a fairly wide selection of glasses to choose from. A lot of top brands, a lot of designer styles. That's all good. Where I had a bit of an issue was with who I assume is the store manager, Naveed. I went in to order one or two pairs of glasses (if the cost was reasonable, I was going to get two, but only really needed one). I planned to use insurance, and I know that I have great vision coverage through my insurance. So I let Naveed know all of this, and he starts crunching all these numbers and scribbling numbers down, and says "you're better off not using insurance and just taking advantage of our great promo we have right now." I ask for him to explain the numbers to me, and he gives me this runaround about how it's complicated and I should just trust him. So he punches everything into his computer and the total is almost $500. Wait, what? And that's supposedly leveraging some great promo that they have and is cheaper than going through my insurance?! I've gotten glasses before with my insurance plan, and my total out-of-pocket cost is like $50 for frames and lenses. It completely didn't add up. But Naveed insisted this was the best deal on two glasses. So I said that I would just get 1 pair of glasses and use my insurance. I said that going that route, I was sure I would pay about $50 for my glasses, and even if I paid full price for the other pair, it wouldn't equal $450 for that pair (the frames were only $99 retail, btw). So Naveed says, "well let me see what I can do", and starts punching arbitrary numbers into his calculator again, to convince me to get two pairs and to not use my insurance, and magically comes back with a number closer to $300. It was almost as if he is incentivized by his suppliers to sell outright rather than through insurance, maybe it's more complicated to process an insurance claim, maybe they want money up front rather than a reimbursement from my insurer..... whatever it is, it was very odd and off-putting. I eventually said that I need to speak with my insurer, because the numbers don't make sense. And Naveed in particular seemed very disingenuous, like he was trying to pull one over on me. Visionworks is supposed to be this national company.. so I would assume their prices are fairly standard.. not "let me crunch some numbers and recalculate" to swing the price by like $200. Then that means you tried to overcharge me the first time around. Naveed came across like we were bargaining and swindling at a swap meet or something. I leave and come back a few days later to get my single pair of glasses using my insurance. The only reason I came back is because I really did fall in love with the frames. When I come in, I walk into the middle of a conversation where Naveed is bragging to the other associates about how much sales he had that day. And mind you, this was in front of other customers who were in the store. I realized at that moment that I absolutely didn't want to give this place my business, so I promptly left. It's unfortunate because I probably won't be back to the eye doctor either that shares a space in the back of the retail portion of this Visionworks store, just because it's more convenient for me to seek out a one-stop-shop where I don't feel like I'm getting hustled on the retail side. read more

These guys are awesome! Made a same day appointment at 830pm on NYE of all days! Both receptionists were extremely warm and friendly and chatted with me during my short wait for the doctor. The doctor was calm and pleasant and very fast! Sometimes eye exams can be overly tedious with the checking and re-checking but this one was precise and efficient. Best part of the experience though was the customer service by far. Feels like a small, family-owned type of place and I felt very welcomed despite the fact that it was NYE, they had a very busy day and I'm sure wanted to go home. Had to wait 2 weeks for the contacts to show up and I had to call and follow up on it. Went back again - another hour long wait. Supposed to be a 10 minute fitting. Rude staff. Irritating experience. I had an appointment for 11:40. I arrived 15 minutes early. At 12:15 they still said they were behind, so I decided to call my vision plan in the middle of the store stating I wanted a new doctor. At 1226 they said they were ready to see me. The doctor explained they were behind because other patients had come in early and they took them ahead of me. That made no sense since I was there at least 15 minutes early. Then when I went to pick out my glasses the buy one get one didn't apply because I had a vision plan. It only applies if you have NO vision plan. They then offered me 4 pairs of glasses for over $1200, but because I had to wait they would give me s great deal at $931. Next year I'm going somewhere else. I'm done with Visionworks. read more

Saw an ad offering 2 pairs of glasses for $ 59.00 ! Just in time for me to get some readers. Went to Visionworks Washington Square Too. Leah greeted me and provided excellent customer service offering a wide choice of frames. She was very focused on taking needed measurements accurately and correctly processing my new prescription. An order was placed for me to pick up within two weeks. My new glasses were ready early !! Lily also provided excellent customer service making sure that my two new pair fit just right and worked very well. These professionals appear to be well trained. UPDATE: When they were in the mall they were great for years. They moved and they have new staff. Their hours are much more limited than they were at the mall. More importantly, the older man who tried to remove my nose pads to put on new ones scratched my lenses with his screwdriver. I rely on my glasses so much, without them I am so blind 20/550. This was a few months ago and he said he was a few weeks new. He wanted to keep practicing on my glasses despite what he accidentally did. Don't they have old practice glasses for new staff to practice on? The worst part is that even the manager didn't seem to care, he was within earshot and made eye contact with me. I practically had to beg them to give me someone more experienced, they all looked at me like I was unreasonable for being worried that my glasses may break after being scratched during the simple process of changing out nose pads. At this point they took new customers that just came in rather than help me, including the manager and others who I was told were more experienced. So I waited till i think the male manager helped me but boy was he annoyed with me in a passive aggressive kind of way. He was the same one who heard what was happening all along and was not friendly to me at all. I don't get what happened to that once wonderful place filled with friendly skilled peeps, where's they go and may I please follow ? :( I am due for new glasses this month and I don't know where to go anymore. read more

It's the first time I've been to Visionworks and everyone was really friendly and their new receptionist is the sweetest. Dr. Clark was personable, answered all my questions, and completed the exam quickly. AND Jacob made buying my new pair of glasses more fun than ever! He was really interested in finding the perfect frames for me and helped search the racks. He let me try on many pairs before I had a lot of wonderful feedback from his coworkers and we found them. I could hardly wait until the order was ready to pick them up. They're just perfect and everyone loves them. Jacob was also detailed and patient. I even purchased a pair of prescription sunglasses (which I've never done before) because he knew how to get me just the right tint/color because often sunglasses are just too dark, but not these - I love them! read more

My experience (at the WaSq Area office): CUSTOMER SERVICE -- I didn't have any problems at all; they were all really great! Seriously, every time I've come in they've been very upbeat and fun. I'm not kidding. Seriously... Every. Time. (question... what's in their water?? ;) 'cause whatever's in it, needs to be bottled up and shared!) -- YVONNE helped me with selecting my glasses and with my insurance. She was honest about what did, and did not, look good on me and when it came to the paperwork (aka... insurance and payment), I truly never felt like I was a 'means to the end'; in other words, I didn't feel like a cash-cow being milked for as much money as possible. Refreshing! -- HEATHER helped me out as well, when I had to come in, the few times necessary when getting glasses. She's another asset to this office and company; cheerful, upbeat, and FUNNY!! :) -- MARISA was a fairly brand new employee on the day I picked up my new glasses; I gravitated right towards her because of her bright and cheerful smile. Basically, I thoroughly enjoyed my last visit (for this year) due to her amazing and friendly attitude! I'm laughing inside because I never imagined I would have EVER actually enjoyed going to ANY kind of medical office. The service and pricing are fine, but the customer service, not so much. When the store is at all busy you just sit around forever waiting for someone to acknowledge you. They don't keep why sort of line or list, so they also end up helping people out of order :( This is super frustrating since it's a super easy problem to fix. Keep a list! Acknowledge people!
