My husband went in for his regular eye exam the doctor suggested that along with his regular glasses that he should also get a pair of computer glasses. After his exam my husband ordered his regular glasses and waited several weeks to get them. When he got home he was baffled because it was hard to see with them. Upon calling the office, they had ordered the computer glasses, not the everyday glasses. We then asked them to order a pair of regular glasses for daily wear. I checked in every so often, and weeks later I found they still had not been ordered his every day glasses and the person on the phone was rude. A week later we got a prescription in the mail (I still don't know which ones they were) turns out it was for the computer glasses. After two months I personally went to the office and asked to get a hard copy of the prescription for my husband's glasses and took it to Costco to have his new glasses made. I wish that was the end of the story, but no... I couldn't figure out why my husband couldn't see with these new glasses. After a couple of months of straining we found a new eye doctor and within 20 minutes she found that he had someone else's prescription, actually it might have been two people. One lens was up close for readers and the other was far away. The prescription was so off that the clerk at Costco burst out laughing. This was some of the worst customer service I have ever received. I don't usually write bad reviews, but I hope this might save your time, money and sanity.

He said cataract surgery would likely not solve my problem but never explained what my problem was that couldn't be corrected by the cataract surgery. I was surprised by this decision so probably not able to ask the right questions but he was in a hurry and rather abrupt. Then he wrote in the notes that he had a long conversation with me and I decided against cataract surgery. The woman who saw me before him was very helpful but he was not. It is very poor care to not see an ophthalmologist before cataract surgery and let an optometrist make the decision about whether you would benefit. Then if you did have cataract surgery the surgeon would not have looked at your eyes him/her self. I am getting a referral to an ophthalmologist.

I never got to having surgery with PCLI and I'm glad. I grew suspicious when the prices they gave…read moreme were going up every time I talked to them and their promises of what my eyesight was going to be like was a lie. They're great at handing out false hope. I was quoted $2,500 per eye and that went to $2700. per eye and then there was the co-pays and the facility use fee by the time it was done I was looking at around $8,000 for something they couldn't do. I consulted a local doctor who had done my late husband's cataract surgery and he explained that there was a certain amount of correction that comes from having cataract removal but those lenses don't work the way they promised for someone like me. When I canceled they suddenly became very rude said they would cancel with Dr Huggett and hung up, I have had no contact with Dr Huggett or his office staff since the appointments were canceled. He will not talk to me and his staff hangs up on me. The reason I am throwing Dr Huggett into the fire is because he told me that I had cataracts as dense as a glass of milk and that I needed to get cataract surgery right away because the longer I waited the more likely I was to lose sight completely apart from maybe shadows. Dr Huggett knew I was a Medicare patient and still referred me to PCLI at which time PCLI would have known I was a Medicare patient. But I was told they were the best, that I would have 20/20 vision and I wanted that. I'm close to 70 and I wanted to see like I used to. Where they thought I was going to get around $8,000 to pay for what they were offering I don't know. A payment plan would have left me in debt with interest. I would not recommend PCLI to anyone nor would I recommend Dr Huggett to anyone. Since I canceled with PCLI Dr Huggett has refused to talk to me or to see me in any capacity and I have learned that he is a close associate with PCLI. My personal opinion is they are out to take the last penny anyone's got for false hope. Take from that what you will.

The doctors care here is excellent and in the past the front of house was also giving excellent customer service. Present day that this is not the case. I had my appointment in the end of January for my eye exam and purchase of glasses. I was quoted 7 to 10 business days to recieve them. On the 10th business day I called to get an update on when they would be in. Whoever answered the phone gave me so much attitude for asking a simply question. I was shocked. They told me that they never quoted 7 to 10 business days, it had only been 9 days according to their system, and that they always quote 10 to 14 days. They said that they will call when my glasses were in and hung up on me. Another week later I called back for an update, because at this point it had been 15 days according to their plan. They said that the glasses were not correct when they arrived and had to be sent back. When I inquired about why I was not inform of this they could not provide an answer. I was quoted another week. I tried to call a week later and got no response. Now 6 weeks have gone by at this point. I have to call them again because they do not know how to pick up a phone clearly. I was informed that my glasses have been waiting for me. When I asked why wasnt I informed, they said that a manager had to call me back to give an explanation. I never got that call. Now I had to wait another week on top of this to go pick up my new glasses because they didnt have any openings. The fact that I had to wait another week to pick up was outrageous. When I finally did get my glasses, they didnt apologize or anything to make up for the fact that I had to wait 7 weeks for my medical device. My advice, fire the front of house staff. Clearly training on customer service isnt a priority when it should be. As someone who has worked in retail for most of my adult life, this is just unacceptable. I would never treat a paying customer this way. Let alone a customer with medical needs.

I waited the minimum 3 months to see how things would heal, then waited an additional 3 to see if things progressed. The latter portion was partly my decision and my scheduling challenges, but the touch-up surgery was worth waiting for. They say that this can be a common thing for about 1 in 10 patients. While going through this again 6 months after my initial surgery wasn't the idea I had going in, it was even easier than the first surgery, plus it didn't cost me a cent. I had my full vision almost immediately following and now have better than perfect vision. Had some of the same team treat me this second time around, including Dr. Madsen, but again everyone was really comforting and helpful. I love not wearing contacts or worrying about driving at night! Thank you again x2!
