Thomas was incredibly thorough, knowledgeable, informative, and passed information to the assistant who would help finish the customer buying process.

Upon…read moreproviding his updated insurance, he was told everything was in order, and his appointment proceeded as scheduled. However, during the appointment, the doctor informed him that they were out of network with his current eye insurance. Despite this, they assured him that his medical insurance would cover the costs, which he agreed to, as they claimed it would be no issue. Upon leaving, he was told that the cost could range from $15 to $400. As expected, the medical insurance did not cover the expenses, leaving us with a $400 bill. I have called four times to speak with someone about this issue, and each time I was promised that someone would reach out. Two months later, I have not received any follow-up. This experience has been frustrating and dishonest. While it's one thing to make a mistake and overlook updated insurance, it's completely unacceptable to mislead a patient by saying something can be filed through medical insurance when there is no valid medical diagnostic code just to avoid a scheduling gap. Most people do not have the luxury of hundreds of dollars in disposable income, and at the very least, deserve a call or email in response to concerns. Having worked in the medical field, I can confidently say this is not how you treat patients. It's extremely frustrating and feels downright shady. With so many options in the Atlanta area, I strongly recommend avoiding this office at all costs.

The two main areas of concern are first, at every follow-up exam, they insist my vision is perfect. It isn't. They keep exclaiming my vision is 20-20, and refuse to listen when I tell them I can't see clearly out of my left eye. I know it's the astigmatism, but they don't seem to care. It's aggravating to not be heard. Second, at one of the exams, my doctor recommended a "clean-up" laser procedure. She assured me it would be no cost, so I agreed (it neither helped nor hurt my vision). I was surprised a month or so later to get a bill for what insurance didn't cover. I appealed the bill, and was told I hadn't met my deductible. I know this is a lie because neither Medicare nor my secondary insurance have a deductible, and my husband had the exact same surgery and follow-up laser procedure, yet he never received a bill, even though we have the same insurance and have both gone to the eye doctor the same amount of times. Someone in their billing was too lazy to fix the issue (or didn't want to admit they were wrong). I find that to be a sketchy business practice. I do not recommend the North Georgia Eye Clinic.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!…read more I am absolutely furious with the treatment my daughter received from Dr. Jang and the front office staff at Pearle Vision. What was supposed to be a routine eye exam turned into an ongoing nightmare that stretched across five separate trips, 3 incorrect prescriptions, and 3 separate orders of contacts needing to be purchased due to THEIR error, negligence, gross incompetence and a complete disregard for patient input. Despite my daughter clearly stating that her previous prescription worked well, Dr. Jang dismissed her concerns outright and insisted on a new prescription -- one that ended up being identical for both eyes, which has never been the case before. She was argumentative, condescending, and refused to even let my daughter try her previous prescription again for comparison. This wasn't a one-time mistake -- it happened FOUR different times, with no accountability or effort to truly listen. The incorrect prescriptions worsened her vision, caused eye strain, double vision, and made her cross-eyed while driving -- a terrifying and dangerous experience. Not only was her day-to-day life disrupted, but she was also left unable to function normally while waiting for each correction attempt to be made. She had to endure blurry vision, black spots, and the added discomfort of contacts that made everything worse. To make matters worse, the strain from all of this triggered severe migraines, which were especially dangerous and debilitating due to a concussion she suffered last November. The careless negligence of Dr. Jang and the unwarranted dismissive rudeness of the front office staff showed throughout this ordeal put my daughter's health and safety at serious risk. We have been loyal customers of Pearle Vision for years -- spending thousands of dollars and even bringing all of our children here. But this experience has completely shattered our trust. We expected professional, compassionate care, and instead got negligence and arrogance. Absolutely unacceptable, horrendous customer service and victim blaming. If you value your vision, TIME, and hard-earned MONEY, do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. If it were possible to leave NEGATIVE stars; I'd give them -3 out of 5 stars, and that's me being generous.

Then was called up about 5 min later and was told that my insurance doesn't cover my eye exam until next month. Why was this information not relayed to me prior to my appointment?! I wasted time coming in just to leave and come back next month. Fast forward to next month, I got a voicemail reminding me of my rescheduled appointment and was informed I will have a $10 copay. The exam itself went smoothly this time until I came out of my exam and was told I owed ~$149. Evidently, this practice requires retinal scans (+$49) for all eye exams. This requirement and fee was not disclosed to me prior to my appointment or during the appointment. Additionally, I was charged for contact lens fitting of $85 - both of which are not covered by insurance. Returned for a contact lens fitting. My appt was at 12pm. I arrived 11:57am and wasn't brought into a room until 12:23pm. No one came to update me on the long wait. Although this place can be convenient with all the technology for scans and such, the lack of communication is frustrating and the fact that I can't come here for a routine eye exam (that's covered by insurance) without paying at minimum an additional $49 for the retinal scan is ridiculous. Offer the free (insurance covered) alternative of dilating and evaluating,

It's a virtual doctor, with a remote controlled lense machine. I called them before travelling almost an hour and got a price of $139 for progressives, BOGO. I know that they charge extra for things like the blue light filter, polycarbonate lenses and so on. All total, with the extras I wanted, I was expecting up to $375, according to the prices on the phone. Well, things did not go as planned. Prices on frames are not marked and was told to just pick out 2 frames. Then when it came time to crunch numbers they tried giving me a price of over $700. When I said that would not work, they tried to " discount" it to $544, saying one of the frames was $200. I went out and discussed with my husband, came back and begrudgingly said that we would take latest deal they offered. So, as the guy is punching in all the "final" numbers, the price increased back to over $900. They talk so fast that they actually forgot what the offer was!! PLEASE DON'T GO HERE! I paid $79 for my prescription, walked out and went to Walmart, and paid $200 to get what I wanted. I saw the same frames that I saw at Stanton Opticians. They are a rip off con game. Do not go here if you value your pocketbook. UPDATE: I see that my post was replied to. I didn't have a complicated prescription- it was only +1.50 (right eye-O.D.) and +1.25 (left eye-O.S.) for reading with an ADD value of +1.50. It's not a complicated prescription and could actually just keep using readers. I just wanted bifocals so that I don't have to keep looking for my readers or removing them when navigating driving apps. Awfully convenient that they do not give the PD values as mono values- as most online retailers require. I will be calling to get mine on Monday! I have gone to the online stores- and put on ALL the EXTRAS (including photochromatic lenses) I wanted, and they still come out to around $100. There is no excuse for the dramatic difference in price from the prices for the extras I was told on the phone nor the changing prices back and forth. It is shady salesmanship and would love to see a news channel come and do an undercover investigation for the fast talking cheating swindlers that work there.
