Absolutely terrible quality of care. Avoid at all costs! Follow up care (to remove cyst caused by ptosis surgery) is zero unless you pay out of pocket even though I contacted the office within the follow up time frame, they had the audacity to flat out deny it was caused by ptosis repair surgery after I said I wouldn't pay $665 out of pocket to remove a tiny cyst on my right eyelid. It was the surgeon that admitted it was a cyst caused at incision site of the ptosis repair. Because the surgeon wasn't available within the time frame of the 90-day post-op period, I have to pay out of pocket (because they don't take my new insurance either but shouldn't matter as I contacted them within the 90-day timeline). In general I have had a good experience so far (only one eye done). Dr. Patel and the other staff were helpful and polite. My biggest issue is that I have astigmatism in the eye treated. I chose the middle option (monovision). In the one week followup, Dr. Patel said this would not be corrected by the new lens and said that was explained in the initial consultation. It was not. My husband was with me and he confirmed that it was not discussed at all. read more

I recently had cataract surgery in one eye and the doctors, nurses, and staff were great. The surgery went well. The problem is the billing and insurance department. I scheduled my surgery 6 weeks in advance. They make it very clear full payment is due 3 business days before surgery. I called to pay a week before because of my packed schedule only to be told they couldn't take payment because there was an issue with the insurance pre approval. They had 5 weeks to get that done. Then 3 businesses days before surgery I get a voicemail saying I must pay in full that day or my surgery would be cancelled. I managed to make time to complete payment and then had surgery as scheduled. Now more than 2 weeks after my insurance is telling me the claims are submitted with wrong codes and an out of network name. I now must postpone other medical services I need until the corrections are made by the billing/insurance department. I need to have my other eye done in a few years but not sure I'll go back here. read more

No one wants to have eye surgery. However, there are times it is required. I researched several eye centers/ophthalmologists in my area, and Milan Eye Center was by far the best choice. I had cataract surgery on 7/9 and am scheduled for the other eye on 8/13. My fears were totally unnecessary. Dr. Sagar Patel did a fantastic job from introduction to completing the surgery. Dr. Patel and his staff, from the receptionists, Heather, the anesthesiologist, Trisha, the surgery intake nurse, to Vanessa, the Surgical Coordinator, they are all there to assist, comfort, and provide answers to all your questions. Update to my previous review. I still have high regard for the actual services I received at Milan in Buford. They did a great job on my cataract surgery and the employees were all great. The problem has come after the fact. I paid, what I thought was in full, upfront for my surgery. After the fact, my medical insurance submitted a payment to them. I was expecting a refund of that money, since I had already paid. Now (3.5 months after they received the insurance payment) I still have not received a refund and am now getting the run around about how much my surgery actually cost. Apparently cataract surgery on ONE eye costs over $10,000 because that is what they have been paid. If you do go with them, make sure you know what it actually costs beforehand. read more

I went for a complimentary lasik evaluation and they told me I would not be a good candidate and said I may be candidate for a different surgery. I was told I can have a free consultation with the doctor for that surgery . So I did that and they hit me with a bill for $230.00 and I have been trying to resolve this bill for past several months. I called several times and each time they said they would call me back with an answer and still no answer. It is a matter of principle. We can pay for it but shouldn't be told it would be free consultation and it isn't! read more

My annual health physical doesn't even come close to all the tests that were done to my eyes! Helen, my assigned eye technician, was phenomenal! But it doesn't stop there because after all the testing done by the technician, the actual eye doctor does other testing before writing up your eye prescription! I cannot recall ever having a worse experience at a doctor's office. At my first appointment I waited 1hour and 7 minutes to be seen. And yes, I started timing it after the first half hour. The actual eye examination was performed satisfactorily. The second appointment was when the real aggravation commenced. I was required to go back to their office to discuss insurance, payment and scheduling. They would not discuss anything on the phone, nor would they send any information to me, as if email and Docusign don't exist. The real reason they want you back is to use aggressive sales tactics to pressure you into using their service. I felt like I was at a used car dealership and some sleazeball was trying to sell me spray-on rustproofing. Definitely avoid this practice. There must be another practice in the area with more integrity and actual concern for their patients. read more

But I will add here: All locations are fabulous, had cataract surgery in Cumming and Bliphoroplasty at Mall of Georgia: my office visits at Mall of Georgia because it's closest to home. In fact I am going today for a little botox from my favorite Occular Plastic Surgeon on the Planet Dr. Saja! ( do not have botox from anyone who can't tell you all the muscles of your face and eyes Saja is an artist, he is fabulous)! I had cataract surgery on both eyes. From the very start everyone I encountered was very pleasant and helpful. Dr. Easley was very caring and concerned. He explained everything so I knew just what was going to happen. Dr. Desai did the surgery. He was also very caring. He did a great job. My vision is now 20/20. I have worn glasses since I was 8 years old and now at 71 I don't need them, except for up close. I would highly recommend getting this surgery, as I can see clearer and the vibrant colors again. Stay away from this practice! Dr's are high pressure sales driven individuals who value money more than their patients well-being. Long story short, had an abrasion in my eye and Dr recommended immd surgery within the week with no other non-surgical treatment available. Luckily, I remembered Thomas Eye Group off Suwanee and scheduled an appt same week for a second opinion. The Dr at Thomas Eye Group opposed and advised against surgery and offered all alternative plans for non-surgical treatments to be exhausted first with surgery being last resort. Within 20 days of following this non-surgery treatment plan, my eye was completely healed. I would not recommend this practice to anyone and advise strongly about seeking second opinion if you are visiting this place and leave feeling uneasy. read more

I would like to highly recommend Dr Sajjaa for your next eyelid reduction surgery. I inherited a heavy upper lid from both parents which got worse as I aged. It started to obstruct my vision and altered my appearance. I sought help from Dr Sajjaa who was professional, always had a smile, was attentive to listening to my concerns, and an excellent surgeon!
