Small building, good parking & easy access to/from- a ramp for those who need it as well. The lobby is very nice with a TV to occupy your stay. It's clean, well decorated & the chairs are comfortable for a waiting room. All staff members were very pleasant, and all smiled!! When they too my patient back they said OK to walk to Chick-fil-A for a coffee... that's as far as they will allow should they need me at any point during the procedure- keep your phone on! My patient said everyone was calm, they laughed & the procedure was an interesting process. Not scary!!! We go back in 2 weeks for the other eye.

However, everything billing-related has made this experience the absolute worst experience. This may come off harsh, but the fact is Milan Eye Center is incompetent when it comes to billing, and they refuse to take any responsibility. They hire a 3rd party billing company overseas, so every time you call their office to discuss anything "billing-related," you are automatically transferred to their overseas contracted billing partner. Why in the world would you hire such an incompetent company to handle all your billing? This is a multimillion-dollar eyecare practice. We knew this surgery would happen, and switched insurance plans as the new plan had a specific flat in-network $1,000 copay for each eye for Cataract Surgery. The total surgery should have cost $2,000, plus the additional co-payments for other doctor visits/eval pre- and post-surgery. Guess what? Milan Eye Center never billed UHC. At the last moment, we were forced into taking out a $5,000 loan from CareCredit to pay for the Cataract Surgery. To make matters worse, after the surgery, Milan Eye Center billing third party started sending bills for $3,900 for the same surgery. ; First of all. Milan Eye Center will NOT perform any surgery until the costs are all paid off in full, meaning you cannot enter the surgery room, hence why we had to take out the $5,000 loan. So a surgery that should have cost $2,000 with insurance ended up costing $5,000 + now they want another $3,900. Cataract Surgery is not $8,900, including insurance; the total to them should be $10,900? After the surgery, we spoke with the insurance. Milan Eye Center never filed it through them, even though they are in-network. After a year, we finally paid off the $5,000 loan we should have never had to taken out... and now they still want $3,900... Everyone I came in contact knew exactly what their function was and each communicated quickly and effectively. There was minimal time wasted on every step of the process. They came in, introduced themselves, set expectations, told you how long they would take (and met it) and did their work. The surgery was completed well and I was out in a very short time. Phoned the number I was given was not answered but I left a message as directed. 1 week went by and no call. I phoned again, no answer but directed to the message center. Left another detailed message. 4 days later , no call. I called the office direct and spoke to someone who said she didn't schedule the surgery but would transfer the call to a lady who could handle that. Everyone that interacts with her is very patient. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. Bobby, who helps with eyeglasses, is very knowledgeable and always super polite and a pleasure to work with. Our insurance is handled perfectly and we always know exactly how much we'll need to pay. Questions are answered thoroughly. Dr. Forster is hilarious but more importantly we are never kept waiting. We are seen at our appointment time and we never wait longer than a minute to see him once we're in the room sitting in the chair. She is used to patients who come in once a year. I was getting used to hingeless glasses .,came in once a week. She also told me she did not have to service me. I have had the new glasses 6 months. I checked with the board of Optometry they said she can not refuse to wait on me. She said she has wasted 20 hours over 2 years adjusting my glasses. That's 10 hours a year 1.6 minutes a day less then 30 minutes a month. Customer service is part of an Optician's job. She said she does not have the patience to deal with me.
