Still waiting on my returned call to schedule my eye surgery. Went here in a referral from my eye doctor I had the evaluation done for my cataract surgery and did I not schedule it that day because I had another medical issue I wanted to resolve before scheduling my eyes. I was told thanks no problem and they understood. The said just call and they would schedule the surgery over the phone since I had completed the preliminary steps. 3 weeks later I was clear to schedule. Phoned the number I was given was not answered but I left a message as directed. 1 week went by and no call. I phoned again, no answer but directed to the message center. Left another detailed message. 4 days later , no call. I called the office direct and spoke to someone who said she didn't schedule the surgery but would transfer the call to a lady who could handle that. After a couple of rings, no answer message machine. Left another message. To day is December 25. Still no return call. I completed my second eye surgery with Atlanta Ophthalmology associates. Last week. Surgery was fantastic. Very professional and not an assembly line practice. Thank you Wolfson for being so incompetent and allowing me to find the best eye surgeon in Atlanta. After several visits with Dr Brody for a somewhat unusual problem not cataracts, they suddenly stopped communicating. I left several messages with his personal staff and got no response. Vey unprofessional. Woolfson runs a cataract assembly line there and apparently have little interest in anything else. I recommend choosing someone else. read more

First time patient at Woolfson and I gotta say I was blown away from the moment I walked in by their entire. The entire team was polite, welcoming, and very efficient and effective during the visit. Dr Leff, the retina specialist has a unique combination of people skills and professionalism that put me at ease. Many times doctors have a level of confidence that borders on arrogance but this was far from the reality of what experienced. I wanted to thank the doctor's and surgeons that helped restore my husbands site! From Dr. Day, Dr. Yoder, Dr. Cook, Dr. Patel and Dr. Austin. They were diligent in providing precise care. Every patient is different. My husband saw multiple Doctors at the Woolfson Eye Institute to achieve the results we were after. To help my husband see again! Dr. Day used his years of experience and knowledge to put together a team, that by the grace of God, helped us achieve the ultimate outcome of restored site! The office staff are just as great. We never waited longer than 15 minutes. We were not rushed through vital test that provided Dr. Day with the information he needed to assist in guiding his treatment decisions. Of course, Dr. Day did his separate exam. I read a previous review that stated Dr. Day only spent 5 minutes with me. Sometimes our visits were 5-7 minutes, others were longer. Take it from me, when you get a 5-7 minute visit, that means, this is what we're going to do! This journey started on 10/24/2024. I found my doctor (Dr. Leff) to be condescending, disrespectful and dismissive. Needless to say, I have taken my business elsewhere.

First I need to say that the staff and Dr. Day are wonderful! However, they NEVER run on schedule! I had an 8:30 am appointment and wasn't taken in back until 8:50. I was passed around for several different tests (billable hours need to be maximized!) and didn't leave the office until 10:10. During that time I spent a maximum of 20-25 min with an actual person and most of my time was spent waiting. I saw Dr. Day for a total of 5 min tops! This is a scheduling factory. They stack appointments and don't run on time. This has been a consistent problem since my first appointment and I will not be going back. read more

The office was packed. I felt like a number. They performed many expensive tests. I am a single parent, and I couldn't afford them. The doctor asked me if I had lupus when he saw the red rash on my face. The whole appointment upset me. They also were pushing me to get my eyes operated on right away because I have narrow angle glaucoma. I thought it was tacky that the doctor didn't discuss options. He was pretty cocky, and I left thinking, "There are puppy mills. Well that was an eye mill." read more

First off, there is a lot of construction going on at the l'ville facility. I had a consultation appointment. I had someone come get me and walk me back to a room where they told me to sit and the person walked away. About 7 minutes later someone else came by and asked me who I was and asked me who had taken me to the back. When I gave him my name he said that they were looking for me in the waiting room in the front. Needless to say, I walked out. If I'm going to have a place do surgery on my eyes, and there is confusion about who I am and where I should be, it definitely does not give me comfort about possible confusion on the day of surgery. Can't say anything about the surgery since I thankfully didn't make it that far. Cannot recommend. read more

I had custom lasik for distance done in both eyes yesterday, and it was about as painless as possible (except for the price tag). I was scheduled to arrive at 8:00 AM and got out around noon, which is about what I expected. Everyone there was professional and friendly, Dr. Woolfson included. He took his time but kept everything on schedule; he answered any questions and reassured the nervous folks. For those curious, here was my experience: 1) Arrive in the waiting room, sign in, and a technician will take you through all the measurements to confirm things (corneal thickness, a few photos of the eye, etc.) 2) A doctor will sit down with you and compare your chart with previous records to ensure nothing has changed. He'll confirm the procedure, numb your eyes up a bit, and put some markings on them to help during the procedure. 3) You and 4-5 other patients will be taken to a room where a very friendly lady (wish I could recall her name) takes a very motherly approach to walking you through what to expect, what drops you need to use, what not to do for a few days, etc. 4) Woolfson will come out and address the group, answer any questions, and then look at your chart individually with you. He goes back into the OR and fires up the laser. Then people get called back one by one. 5) Lay on a table, get rolled under a machine, get some numbing drops. 6) Woolfson puts in an eyelid speculum, which was the most uncomfortable part for me (but I still wouldn't even say it was painful), puts some pressure on the eye, and cuts the flap. 7) You see some sort of Q-tip sized device rub over your eye a couple times and vision will blur up quite a bit. Then the laser comes on. The technicians will say a few numbers (because they have to in medical situations, just random 3-digit numbers that they may or may not just be making up), and the laser will do its thing. 15 seconds per eye, tops. No pain, just a weird smell. 8) Woolfson will put everything back where it goes and repeat on the next eye. Sit up, take a picture, and go to a dark waiting room. 9) Another doc will come in and do a quick check, then you're free to go (someone else driving you of course). I highly recommend the nap that they urge you to take. I made the mistake of waiting before I took the sleeping meds because I wanted lunch, but as soon as those last numbing drops wear off, it's going to feel like, well...someone just cut your eye open with a laser. Tears streaming down my cheeks. The prescription eyedrops alleviate this, so try to call ahead and have them ready to pick up. After a 1.5 hr nap I was so much better. This is day 2 and I have very little discomfort, just slightly dry eyes. About to go to my one day followup. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. read more

Going to the Woolfson Eye Institute was one of the best things I did for myself. After Lasik, I could see better than I could with contacts. No doubt, one of the best decisions I have ever made. They will not be the cheapest but remember, they are working on your eyes. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Without a doubt in my mind, this is the doctor I would go to for any type of eye issues. He is experienced, patient, understanding, and has great bedside manner. I felt comfortable the entire time and he made me feel like I was his top priority. His staff is great and they do a great job throughout the entire process. If you are shopping/looking for a doctor, this is by the best one in the Southeast. Went to Woolfson for Lasik surgery. It has been one week since my procedure and I have never seen better. The staff is fantastic. From the initial consultation to the day of the surgery, everyone was nice, supportive, and informative. Dr. Woolfson takes the time to explain the procedure in detail and is extremely personal. He answered every question and even responded to my questions after hours. If I could give them 1 million stars I would. Dr. Woolfson was great! The problem came when I had to do my post op visit in Ohio. Sammy Colón assured me this was not a big deal and would be no problem. She even talked to the eye clinic there before my appointment. Then followed almost two years of trying to get her to agree to pay the bill, which has now been given to a collection agency (all she needed to do was call the place I got the post op visit done, but she refused). She was quite unprofessional in her emails, even being rude in the last few. She has now stopped responding. What a nightmare! read more

I just went here with my friend who is Japanese to help her with paperwork and understanding doctors. She saw Dr. Leff and I have never been so insulted by someone who is suppose to be a professional. The first thing he asked was if I was her mother. She is 2 years older than me. He then asked if it was okay to talk about her examine with me in the room. She told him that was why I was there. He said ok I will talk louder so she can hear. I told him if he kept it up I was going to knock him thru the wall. Didn't phase him he started calling me her grandmother. My friend does look very young but she is from Japan and I am American. He also made the comment that she looked like her mother (me). I am 69 and I look it but the way I was treated is totally uncalled for. I don't mind being teased but not in a way that hurts someone's feelings. read more

Nice staff, doctor and assistant knowledgeable and focused on the medical issue, was educated on options, was scheduled for surgery within 2 weeks, received 3 follow up visits, and billing department worked with me with matching price. I am still waiting for a refund though 3 months later. No other issue. read more
