My first time getting an eye exam at a LensCrafters. I made an appt over the phone a couple weeks in advance. When I arrived for my appointment, I checked in and waited. Then was called up about 5 min later and was told that my insurance doesn't cover my eye exam until next month. Why was this information not relayed to me prior to my appointment?! I wasted time coming in just to leave and come back next month. Fast forward to next month, I got a voicemail reminding me of my rescheduled appointment and was informed I will have a $10 copay. The exam itself went smoothly this time until I came out of my exam and was told I owed ~$149. Evidently, this practice requires retinal scans (+$49) for all eye exams. This requirement and fee was not disclosed to me prior to my appointment or during the appointment. Additionally, I was charged for contact lens fitting of $85 - both of which are not covered by insurance. Returned for a contact lens fitting. My appt was at 12pm. I arrived 11:57am and wasn't brought into a room until 12:23pm. No one came to update me on the long wait. Although this place can be convenient with all the technology for scans and such, the lack of communication is frustrating and the fact that I can't come here for a routine eye exam (that's covered by insurance) without paying at minimum an additional $49 for the retinal scan is ridiculous. The Vietnamese asian lady working at LensCrafters is just rude and dismissive, not to mention lack of knowledge on frames.. all other ladies are very polite, nice and pleasant to deal with. If the Asian lady approaches you for help, try to get other ladies to help. read more

I had an appointment at 9:15 and the mall which LensCrafters is in didn't open until 10:00. When I got in they told me I should have called so they could let me in. I had already called three times and no one picked up the phone. They then blamed it on me missing their one call the previous day during work hours. I told them I didn't have my phone available during work and they should have put the information in the email and then they said they didn't have access to the email. First and last time at this location. We walked in twice because no one acknolwedged us both times. It was very unorganized, not a single employee looked our way, yet other customers who walked in later were being helped and added to a waitlist. I had to go up to an employee behind the counter, ask if she worked there, and was finally assigned to an employee. I was placed with a Hispanic girl who was extremely rude, did not answer any of my questions and gave me short answers, and she had an attitude the whole time we were interacting. I decided I didn't trust her and told her I'm not interested anymore. She said "OKAY" while rolling her eyes and walked away. Very unpleasant experience. read more

My son came there to take and eye exam and purchase lens only. He had a few months ago replaced his frames. I called before he got there and explained I am disabled and want to help, By the time he got there with the card they looked at it and first said it was a medical card. I told them it was for eye care also. They came back and said it was a discount card with 25/35 percent off. made up something that with discounts it would need to pay out of pocket over 300 starting at 500. My coverage is up to 500. I told them to just call it up and look, that would have been too easy. They were rude and would not properly look up my policy. A women started the call and handed it off to a man, who instead of looking for himself followed her lead. After offering to show the cost on the tablet I declined, knowing I was not going to pay that cost. This was Saturday today my son went to another lens crafter 3 days later cost $25 and the person was courteous and efficient. I am reviewing the LensCrafters inside the Mall of Georgia My daughter & I both had appointments; 12 & 1 pm. We got there at 11:45 AM. They took us both in before 12:00 PM when paperwork was done. They have updated all machines & really streamlined everything so well. They cleaned everything while we were in the room so we knew it was done well. Masks stay on unless a machine won't image correctly (like mine). I had to pull my mask down for 2 machines, but they cleaned it for me, so I was OK with it. Techs stay back as much as possible & wear their masks as well. I get to the exam room, which is clean & organized. Waited about 10 minutes for the Dr. to come in. She was terrific. Kind, funny, well spoken, has a great knowledge b/c she knew exactly what my eyes are doing & walked me through every step of my exam, what the computer read, how to work with my eye sight with work (computer) & personal life... I need 2 (yes, 2) separate prescriptions; one for work & one for distance/driving/everyday. Yay me?! Anyway, my son & hubby went a few weeks ago & had a great experience as well. Hubby said Vision Works has NOTHING on LensCrafters exam. They both felt they got great information they never had before - great news! So, the selection for men (per my guys) is not so great. Basic black, maybe a few colors, rim/no rim, thick rim or not thick, metal or plastic. That's it. They were a little disappointed by selection, but they are guys so they got over it quickly. They both look great! Women's selections are better, but not fabulous. I am very happy with my selections (I have 2 pair now). The floor tech that helped me was nice. They had a buy 1 frame, get a 2nd 1/2 off AND 40% off lenses. I got off pretty good! They will be ready in 2 weeks & can't wait to see again. I was told it would be around two weeks to get my new glasses and now its been four weeks. Every time I call I'm getting the runaround from the associates. They are not helpful at all putting it off on the lab with one excuse after another! I need my glasses! I can't see!! Now the associate is telling me it's going to be at least another week! I'm beyond mad! I'm a returning customer there and have never had a problem like this. Last time I got glasses there was 7 years ago. They have lost a customer! This is ridiculous. This location of LensCrafters is located inside the Mall of Georgia near Dillard's and Macy's. I don't know why this place has so many bad reviews. I've had excellent experiences every time I walked in. Everyone is super nice, and willing to help and fix your problem. I walked in because I needed to get new glasses and I fell in love with a Versace pair. Of course they were super expensive, but since it was my first time they managed to give me a 50% discount, and an insurance that covers mostly everything that happens to my glasses. Every now and then I'm able to pay a $50 fee, and get a brand new pair. Overall this is a very nice place to get glasses, and sunglasses. You can also work with them about the prices. Got a call the day before my appointment that I have pay for retina scanning because my eyes MIGHT be dilated(?) and contact fittings for over $39+ then a $10 copay for the appointment that I already pay for through EyeMed Insurance. So what is the point of paying for eye insurance. This is terrible communication by this office and Dr. Reed should know better. I would not go to this office. They will provide extra charges that you don't know about the day before your appointment. I'm going elsewhere where they actually communicate with you ahead of time and lay out all the charges. It's not even about the money. It's like going to an Atlanta restaurant and then you get all these "gratuities" added to your check. Poor! read more

What a disaster of a business. The employees are poorly trained, both in eye care and customer service. The optometrist that is associated with this location pushes you into a retinal scan that is not needed, but is an easy buck for them, but does nothing for a mid 20's patient with no history of retinal issues. Attempted to contact Lenscrafters customer service and got the runaround for 10 days until they finally forwarded our complaint to the store manager (who we were complaining about). Waste of time and just a demonstration of the poor customer service you'll get. This is not my first time to this LensCrafters. I have come to this location numerous times after my previous Optometrist retired. But today's visit was simply horrible. I admit that I was late, and looking at the perspective you'd think that I should have tried to get there on time. But this is the thing, I originally got to the Mall 12 minutes early for my appointment. Each time that I go to this location, I get confused about entering near Dicks or Dillard. I made the mistake to enter near Dicks. If it wasn't bad enough that I climbed the stairs and hurriedly look for their location, but that I entered at the wrong side of the mall. I'm 60+ years old and disabled (knees and back). I first tried to hurry down to the other side of the mall. Gave up on that idea when my right knee started to ache. Went out to my car and drove to the other end of the mall. I get to LensCrafters 12 minutes late. I see no other patients waiting outside, so I think that everything is okay. I tell the lady who I am and what time my appointment was scheduled. She scans my temperature, walks over to the desk, comes back and tells me that I have to reschedule. I explained what happened, and told her that I had made the appointment on that previous Saturday because it was my last lens and it had a tear. The Dr.s are okay, but the staff leaves something to be desired. Lack of compassion and understanding there. I left a review found a new place that isn't so rigid and am moving on. read more

Came to get my son new glasses since his mom is too lazy and cheap to get good glasses! 1. Called at 3:45- was with the doc by 4;30. Great service. 15 min later done with that part. 2. Then paid and went out to pick out glasses for my son- frames. Not cheap- but quality Ray Bans- I asked Julia to pick them out and found a great pair. 3. We opted for a warranty, transition, and they will be ready in an hour then we can go eat sushi!!!! Professional, fast, knowledgeable. Will make this location my std for both our glasses. Don't ever go there at all! They are trying to convince you buy the most expensive lens. They tends to get mistook what you desire to have your sight clearly. They tends to determine on their own design numbers on each lens before you want the better sights. In the two years past. It was so good but today in 2019. They are terrible. So, I am very dissatisfied with Lenscrafters. I bought new eyeglasses in May of last year. The lens cost $430.00. I now have scratches all over them. This has never happened with any of my previous glasses. I always get a scratch resistant coating and the store manager said I should gotten the premium coating? Also said I should have bought extra protection. They can't help me. I had been buying at Costco where the lens didn't get scratched and they guarantee everything they sell indefinitely. And the glasses cost much less. I do not recommend Lenscrafters to anyone. I submitted a complaint online and was notified that since I didn't purchase the protection package there was nothing they could do. I'm out $400 plus and have since ordered better lenses elsewhere that are scratch resistant. read more

Made the mistake of ordering glasses for my daughter without checking reviews. Wish I had, because this place is awful. Glasses were supposed to be ready in a week. Got a call on the day they were supposed to be ready. Even though I was told the glasses would be made at their warehouse in McDonough, it turned out they were at a "third party" lab and there would be a "slight" delay. How slight? "We should have them soon." How soon? They don't know. How do you not know?!?!? They tell you what you want to hear, then screw you. Meanwhile, my child is struggling at school with headaches that these glasses are meant to fix. Wonder how long "slight" and "soon" is. Stay away! read more

I came in for contact exam and was given a contact prescription made out for acuvue oasys. They gave me a trial pair to try. I absolutely hate it and throw it out on the second day. Then I tried to go online to order for Acuvue 2, which is the one I've been wearing for more than a year. The order was cancelled because the optometrist office denied it because the prescription was only made to order acuvue oasys. I called them and ask if I could have the prescription change to Acuvue 2 and they told me I have to come in for another contact exam because I was only fitted for that particular one. This is the first time I heard such a thing. Not only that but I have to pay for another $55, which I just paid last week, for another exam! I requested to speak to the manager and she say she will call me back after she speak to the doctor. I'm still waiting for the call back. Never had such a difficult time at the eye doctor. read more

I decided to try Lenscrafters & it was a complete waste of money. Their in-house optometrist incorrectly tested my vision & gave me an incorrect prescription. After I got my glasses & noticed something was wrong, I was told that my prescription was correct & to "give it time" to get used to the new glasses. I went back a month later & complained that my left lens was still out of focus & I was re-examined. Again, I was given an incorrect prescription. I went back a few months later to complain again about my glasses. Then, a salesperson told me I would have to pay for a new exam, when my glasses have never been correct. I wasted over $300 for glasses that are ineffective. Lenscrafters optometrists, service & skill is incompetent & overpriced. I will NEVER go back to them again. read more

I recently enrolled into VPC from my Humana insurance and went with LensCrafters as they accepted my insurance. I called and they verified I was eligible, told me over the phone and in person how much I would be paying, what would and wouldn't be covered, etc. They directed me online to fill out the new patient form and everything went smoothly. I was in and out in under an hour! That's with a dilation instead of a retina scan for the eye exam. The office is busy but everyone is on their toes and very friendly. My experience included signing up as a new patient, eye exam, contact fitting, and I'm coming back today 8/19/15 for my one week follow-up so I can order contacts which was covered under my insurance allowance of $150! read more

She cleaned my lenses and saw a slight scratch in the corner. I would never had noticed it. She told me to wear them but she was ordering me a new pair. I thought that was so kind. I was hoping to see her last night when I picked up my new frames but she was not there. I worked with Hailey, the team lead. She helped me both times that I was there and when I had to go back to exchange for another pair. Very patient and didn't let me leave with a pair that didn't sit right on my face. I would recommend to go here if you are looking for designer glasses. I guess people only leave negative reviews when they have issues but I wanted to make sure they got a good review. Be prepared to wait because a lot of people are there. read more

I recently went in for the eye exam. The doctor portion of my experience was fine - I see great. I walked over to Lens Crafters and asked them to use my eye benefits ONLY on the frame and not the lens, so that I could order my contacts which I wear more often. I had planned on paying for the lens (single vision, no coating, $25 copay per lens) out of pocket. The employee said "Ok, you're all set." I asked her to double check since I found it odd that there was no charge on the glasses. She reiterated that there was no problem. I then returned to the Doctor's office side and had them process my eye insurance for my contact lens, which left me to pay $90 out of pocket. I asked if she could double check on my eye insurance again since I had a bad feeling about my glasses having no charge. Again, this employee said that my insurance was fine. Everything seemed ok until several days later when I received a call admitting that Lens Crafters used all of my eye benefits, even though I explicitly told them not to, and asked me to pay an additional $150. Beware if you are using your vision benefits - purchase elsewhere. read more

Do not purchase lenses here. No issue with service or with the doctors office. I have been coming here for years. I just graduated to progressive lenses and was told that the price for lenses only was $668 reduced to $441 with EyeMed discount. I would never make a purchase this big without researching. I went to Costco and paid $165 for premium progressive lenses. It was $130 for lenses + $25 fee since I brought my own frames. Wide progressive lenses with all the bells and whistles at Costco. The person helping me at pick up at Costco could relate since they used to work for LensCrafters for years. We had a laugh and I paid $165 and felt great about it. read more

This store sucks. It took me no less than 45 minutes to simply get a refill of my contacts. Although the employees were nice, their system is terribly inefficient. I had to call my other LensCrafters, have them upload my prescription to this LensCrafters system, and then the employees here DIDNT KNOW HOW TO PRINT THE PERSCRIPTION. I then called BACK the original location and they had to FAX my prescription over. Throughout this ordeal the woman who was helping me would walk away into rooms and not return for 10ish minutes. 45min to 1hr just to get contacts. Absolutely horrific. Wouldn't recommend. read more

I was going to be 15 minutes late to my eye exam because my car wouldn't start and I had a ride coming to take me. I called them and told them I was going to be 15 minutes late because of this and they said they won't see me if I'm not on time and I have to reschedule for a whole nother week. So I have to wait 7 days to be able to get new glasses and not be able to see clearly (because you can't get lenses without an eye exam) because I was going to be 15 minutes late. I've been to this LensCrafters multiple times and so has my wife. This happens to be our hometown LC. Our past experiences were with courtesy sales individuals who took their time to properly fit, make professional recommendations and listen to our needs. This is why we've always paid more for quality customer services at LC over other local eye care centers. However, my most recent encounter at LC in Mall of GA was very unpleasant. Upon walking into the store, I wasn't greeted but the gentleman who entered 10 paces behind me was greeted immediately and attended to. As I continue to browse the selection, a lady sales rep asked if I needed help. I explained my situation to her about my defective frames being warrantied by Luxottica (Luxottica own LC). Therefore needed advice on their current selections. I wanted a square type frame and asked if there were any other ones available from that branding. She proceeded to make remakes regarding frame warranty and they had my current frame in stock. I explained Luxottica will only warranty what's in their stock inventory not Lens Crafters's inventory. She didn't understand Luxottica's process and started to belittle me. I'm wasn't there to talk about frame warranty but to shop for new frames. It got to the point where she didn't want to help me and told me another sales rep will help. So after 5-10 minutes of waiting I had to ask one of the three ladies behind the counter for assistant. The original sales rep was trying to explain the issues with the other ladies. To get to the point I intervened so this way I wouldn't waste anymore time there. I explained my dilemma to a lead sales rep and she somewhat understood this process. She also directed me to another Lens Crafters inside Macy's for more frame options. This was a great idea bc not all Lens Crafters carries the same frames. I went into LC inside Macy's and told the sales rep about the warranty. And she understood the whole warranty process. I was quite shock! She stated that the LC inside should have known this process as well. Seems like the underlining issue here is fix the lack of process and training Ca, listen to what your customers are saying before assuming, and greet/welcome every customer who walks through your doors rather White, Black, Mexican, or Asian. Better start correcting these issues LC inside Mall of Ga or you will start seeing your business go to another location. read more

Highly recommend Dr. Reid & associates, especially Dr. Unsworth. Went in for an exam for my contacts and found I had something going on under my lids. She worked so hard to get the right fit. After a month and 4 visits, she got it. She spent time and had way more patience then I did. All the girls that work in the office are so nice and professional. read more
