It's always a good day with Victor's on your plate! I stopped by recently with a lifelong friend and his wife while they were in town. His wife is not from Bakersfield, and seeks out Victor's every time they visit. She asked me how I don't eat at Victor's for every meal. With food this delicoius and this reasonably priced, it's truly a valid question. I tend to get the shrimp burrito, but I recommend anything on their menu. Victor's has earned their right as a local household name and favorite over the years. The folks behind the counter are always friendly and helpful. The restaurant is always clean and well taken care of. read more

Victor's walking into your establishment this afternoon was such a wonderful treat. The traditional Christmas decor was absolutely welcoming and gorgeous. And the modern touch of the "verse of the day" warmed my with great joy and adoration. And the fpresentation of the food with it's extraordinary, flavorfu,l taste was beyond what I ever imagined. Just discovered their breakfast burritos!! Run dont walk!! Seriously the perfect size, flavor, and price! Walked in and ordered and waited about 10 mins sitting at one of their many tables. They had lots of seating inside and out. But took mine to go and once home it was hot, delicious, - perfect egg, cheese, bacon, potatoe, salsa ratio and amazing flavor! This was the smallest Breakfast burrito and it cost almost 13 dollars I added an extra egg and spinach and no hash brown they didn't let me substitute the hash brown for the spinach and with extra egg it was still this small and to cost that much never again. read more

Was recommend this spot for Mexican food! The place is new, clean, super busy and with plenty of room to dine in. The line cook was very helpful especially with recommendations when I told him it was my first time. I ended up ordering the Victors style/wet burrito with steak and it definitely hit the spot. First thing I instantly noticed that the price was comparable to chipotle however, you DEFINITELY get more bang for you buck here they do not cheap out on with the meats and the tortilla for the burrito is huge. 9/10 for flavor and would recommend to anyone looking for a better alternative to chipotle! read more

The employees were friendly and had patience with us as it was our first time and our youngest was very indecisive. The food was great. We love this place! It's out go-to for fresh fast Mexican food. It beats Chipotle hands down and its local and Christian as added bonuses. The staff is friendly and the place is always clean. My middle always gets the cheese quesadilla and she swears it's the best in town. My other daughter and I get the bowls and we switch between the chicken and the steak. Both are great. We get all the goodies including the homemade guacamole and the corn. We also like adding the veggies. They also have cactus but I'm not a fan because of the texture so I skip it. We've also gotten the enchiladas and nachos which are off menu and tried the various daily specials from the board. A couple of tips: mix the mango and cilantro dressings for a special sauce, try the yummy horchata, and join the loyalty club for points to get money off every couple of visits. read more

I had chipotle and also victors today, got a bowl on doordash from each. chipotle was very light on everything (as expected) especially the sour cream. Victors was absolutely perfect. the employees wrote a note on the top of my box thanking me for my support and that was very meaningful. i would recommend victors every time. read more

It is a very nice Mexican fast food restaurant. I got the Barbacoa bowl with Spanish rice, and it was delicious.the only downside is that the portion is small. I am not a big eater, but I was still hungry after the bowl. My wife got wheat quesdea. The steak was good, but the actual quesdea was dry. It could be because it is a wheat one. Stopped in for a chicken salad today and seen that they started charging for extra cheese and sour cream. Just make sure that if you're going to charge to make sure you get extra! The girl that was putting the sauces and stuff looked new, as it was starting to get busy and they were just letting her struggle. I would like to also include that their salads are not as big as they use to be. They use to touch the top and they don't! Just look at the other pictures posted on here. read more

I never thought I'd give Victor's a 1-star, but here we are... I went in with my daughter to grab dinner, and everything was going fine with the staff until, what looked like the manager walked in and was very rude to both of us. Then my burrito tortilla ripped, and one of the employees said it needed to be re-wrapped with a new tortilla. I suggested to just using the old tortilla and a new one to make it easier, but the manager said they'd have to charge me for two burritos if they used the ripped tortilla and the new tortilla. I said that was ridiculous since they were going to throw away the ripped tortilla anyway. She replied that it was policy, then rolled up the ripped tortilla in the old wrapper, along with her gloves, and threw it away right in front of me. Did Victor's get bought out or something? Nothing screams corporate like charging a customer for something you were going to throw away regardless. Go to Chipotle instead. I am not spending my money at this "locally owned" establishment anymore. read more

We love getting our breakfast burritos here! I usually get the bacon burrito (large) and my husband enjoys the dos manos burrito! The dos manos-as the name implies- is huge, it includes four meats and is quite delicious. We rarely finish our burritos in one sitting but don't mind the leftovers at all. Can't speak for any of their other foods, but we have been back multiple times for these breakfast burritos! Service has always been great- such friendly staff! Plenty of tables for dine in as well. read more

Love this place!! I usually get the chicken salad or the chili verde burrito. Both are delicious!!! The food is always fresh and the employees are always friendly and quick!! Even when you have a long line, they have a good system going where you can get your food quick. Today I got the chicken salad with black beans, brown rice, salsa, cheese and the cilantro sauce. DON'T FORGET THE CILANTRO SAUCE!!! This stuff is so good!!! I don't know what all is in it, but it makes everything taste even better!! Just an FYI, they DO sell the sauce if you want to take a container home. I highly recommend this! I also bought a chili verde burrito and a barbacoa burrito for my son and his girlfriend. They were happy with their food! They have a couple tables to eat at outside, but not much. But they package your food well and you can still get home and eat it without a mess! Love this place!! Everyone in Bakersfield talks about the famous Victor's, but let me tell you... it is not as fantastic as everyone makes it out to be. The food is subpar at best... the meat, rice, and beans need more flavor. The barbacoa instantly gave my boyfriend heartburn. I don't particularly like the tortillas either, but now I'm just getting nit picky. To be fair, I did go at 8:30 right before closing this last time, so I was taking that into consideration when eating the burrito I ordered. It was substantial, but I don't want substantial. I want delicious. I want better than chipotle vibes. It was NOT giving. I have had high hopes for Victor's for a long time, but even after a year and a half, I am underwhelmed and far from impressed. Go elsewhere. There are better options in this town to try. read more

I used to come to this place all the time when I worked downtown! Convenient, good pricing and good product. Sometimes I would have extra for leftovers and even leftovers were good. I would choose this place over Chipotle any day. The service is always great and fast. Nice tables inside, but no outdoor seating really. Sad to know it's not open I think on Sundays when I'm craving Victors; I think the only downside to this place. But I guess they are entitled to a day off!! read more

Every time I explain to someone what Victors is like I say it's like a chipotle but with much more authentic Mexican food. I like how they always welcome you in and provide great service! I love how they have so much to offer than just bowls, burritos, quesadillas or tacos like chipotle does but they have off menu items daily which all look amazing. While the taste of food and the friendly staff is very important, the food handling and the cleanliness is very crucial. I went in today and I always like how clean they try to clean the pass. But I've seen several employees wiping down with rags and then touching customers food.....all with the same pair of gloves. The gloves aren't supposed to protect the employees, they are supposed to protect consumers health. Gloves should constantly be switched out especially if you're using a wet rag to wipe down and plan on getting the tortillas or sprinkling cilantro on the food. I hope this does get viewed. read more

Poor customer service. Went a few weeks ago and all the toppings were left off the fries. Called and was told the next time I came in I could get another order. Went today and showed the pics and was told since she (female manager with long ponytail) couldn't find my name, no correcting of order. I showed her the pics - their fries with their way shorthand for orders. Yet she offered zero. AND had a bit of attitude when I asked the worker -" Isn't this the way you write up orders here? Victors is quite easily my favorite establishment in Bakersfield. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, it doesn't matter all their food is amazing. They watch out really well for my allergies, and I always feel welcomed. I've been a regular for five years now, and I have not been sick of it at all. When I say a regular, I mean, I eat this place 3 to 4 times a week at minimum. If you haven't tried it, I like to call it a healthy chipotle. Highly highly recommended! read more

Everything is great about this place except the chicken. Their chicken is dry and flavorless. Maybe that's because they use chicken breast and barely season it. Also the salsas are weak. Other than that this is a good competitor to Chipotle. read more

The service and drinks were decent, could be improved but not bad. It was kind of pricey for a cocktail - $18 for a Tito's vodka lemon drop. (They up charged for top shelf). It took 10-15 min to get our check after we stopped eating for a server to notice that we were done. Ambiance is cute, pretty causal. I would give it another chance if I'm in the area.

The hollandaise sauce was a touch heavy on the lemon but I still enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly when I entered as well so the service was good. The setback for me was the price tag, it was almost $18 for just the benedict with hash brown, no drink or anything else. It's a bit high, I think for the quality and taste if it were a few bucks cheaper I'd give pretty high praise. Still, it was a pretty good experience and I'll probably give it another shot down the road.
