Predatory Absolute nightmare experience with Vic's Towing. My car broke down at 2:00 AM after hitting a curb and snapping a control arm. Because of the location, the police called Vic's instead of letting me wait for AAA Things went downhill immediately: Refused Payment at Scene: Even in 2026, they refused to accept normal payment methods at the scene, forcing my car to be towed to their yard. Provided Wrong Contact Info: The driver gave me a business card that was NOT for Vic's Towing. I spent days trying to reach them using the bad information their own driver handed me. Extortionate & Fake Fees: When I finally obtained their real phone number on Wednesday (towed Sunday), they claimed I owed thousands of dollars. The original rate quoted was $130 for the tow and $35/day for storage--meaning 4 days of storage should have totaled $270 at most. Fabricated Charges: They tacked on bogus line items that were physically impossible. They charged for "rolling up windows," "adding gas," and "disconnecting the battery" on a locked vehicle they had no keys or interior access Shady "Solution": To top it all off, the owner claimed the only way he would "help me out" was if I signed over the title of my car to him and paid him $250 in cash on top of it. Vic's Towing uses deceptive tactics, hands out wrong contact info to run up daily storage rates, fabricates charges, and tries to pressure people into surrendering their vehicle titles. Horrible service, they got tow truck stuck because driver did not listen when i told him not to back flat bed up onto the ground where my vehicle got stuck in mud.....driver was nice, however it took hours out of my day, i offered 2 help get his big dually tires unstuck. Grabbed 2 long shovels to dig tires out, i actually did most of the digging. Still couldn't get his truck out, so i offered to grab my steel ramps used for getting machinery up into p/up truck. Put them down, then he gunned it, the tires spun spun spun, destroyed my ramps. Driver told me to call the owner and he would make it right. Well the owner blew me off, said he would call the driver and get his side of the story. I told him that there's driver literally told me to call him there. And then I have pictures of the ramps destroyed underneath the tires of the truck you said OK. Ay no problem. He would get right back to me same day. I said because I asked him. Are you gonna get back to me today and he said yep, I'm just gonna call them first. He never did, I called back he blew me off again. I'm going to call him today. Vic's is awesome. I have progressive road side assistance. Late last night after I got off work and I got a flat tire. Roadside assistance tried getting someone from Rhode Island (where I was) out to me but no one was available. Vics came from Mass to change my tire at 330 in the morning, in the rain. Beware of this Company!!!! I contacted Vic's Towing for recovery of a company vehicle from an employee I was terminating. I explained to the owner that the employee was not home and not aware that his employment was being terminated. He said no problem I will let the tow truck driver know. He said the driver would be there in 30-45 min to complete the tow. Two hours later I received a calls from the driver. The driver stated to me that he knew my employee and that he called him to let him know that he was coming to get the vehicle because he was being terminated. This caused a huge issue and the police had to be called. On top of all of this the owner stated that I owed him $350.00 for the 4.8 mile tow from Westport to Fall River. When I gave him the information for payment he charged me $415.00. DO NOT TRUST THIS GUY!!! Still to date I have not received an Invoice that I have asked for numerous times. if I could rate it 0 stars I would. worst business I've ever dealt with. the owner Vic held my vehicle in his lot and told me I was unable to get my belongings out of my OWN car unless I paid a fee. Long story short I had to call the cops to get my items back out of my own car. NOT TO MENTION when I went into my car there was a pizza box with food in it as if someone was sitting in my car eating l. I got into an accident the day prior, and I didn't have pizza in there . I've used Vic's 4 times now and each time has been great. The first time I had waited for another towing company for about 2 hours, all the time missing work. It was getting to be about 12am when I called Vic's. They contacted the driver right away and he called me to let me know that he would be there in 15 minutes. He was there in exactly 15 minutes, put my van on the flatbed and recommended a repair shop. A completely painless experience. I could go on about the other times but I don't want you to think I am employed by them. read more

This company was dishonest with me and overcharged me! It took a filed a complaint through the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities Transportation Oversight Division for me to get back money from them. If you run into a problem and this company does not respond owe up to it, file a complaint here: https://www.mass.gov/forms/file-a-complaint-against-a-bus-moving-or-towing-company Here is what happened with me: A while back I came out to find my car in the process of being hooked (staff under the vehicle). The staff informed me that since my car was in the process of being towed, I would have to pay a $108 tow fee. I payed the fee and later checked on towing laws. It turns out that $108 is a full tow fee in Massachusetts and that if your car is hooked, a tow company can only charge you half of that $54. I proceeded to call the company and let them know about the law. They proceeded to tell me, "who is going to listen to you?". It turns out that the Department of Public Utilities has a Transportation Oversight Division that does listen to formal complaints and followed up with Vic's Towing and they had to refund me $54. read more

Corey came out late at night, in the rain, to flatbed my pickup 85 miles back to my hone in NW CT. He drove over 60 miles to where I was broken down and then had a 100 mile ride back to his shop. BEWARE!! Most unprofessional, shady operation I have ever had to deal with. Both my friend and I's cars were in the process of getting hooked (staff under vehicles) when we came out to the parking lot and said we were present. They informed us we had to pay a "drop fee" of the FULL towing price ($108)..which we paid. Upon getting home and reading the federal laws we realized they are only supposed to charge half of the towing fee as a "drop fee", not the total amount. As a courtesy my friend called the tow company and when informed the man on the phone he said and I quote, "If you can read the laws then you should have read the sign." and then we she said she was going to complain he said, "and who will listen to your complaint?" Turns out the Department of Transportation listens and guess who had to refund us a check of $54? Vic's Towing! Get your act together Vic's and stop STEALING money from people. read more

Mark went above and beyond to help me tow my car 50 miles to my destination. He was my scheduled AAA tow truck driver, but I was forced by the police to cancel my tow and I had to use the tow truck that they called in because I was broken down on the side of an exit ramp. Luckily, Mark found me down the road of where I initially broke down, and after a quick phone call with AAA, I was able to easily reinstate the tow with him. He insisted on first towing my car to my new house. He unloaded my car off of his flatbed so I could easily unload all of my belongings (it was packed with all of my stuff due to a temporary job relocation). He even helped me bring my belongings inside. Afterwards, he put my car back up onto his flatbed and dropped it off at the scheduled local mechanic shop. He didn't have to do any of that, but he did, and I'm super grateful for his kindness and help last night. Thank you for saving me a load of hassles!! read more
