Dealing with the service Tech "Bill T." was a nightmare. I locked my keys in my car at the CCRI Campus, and my phone was very low on battery. I gave the AAA person as close to an exact location as I could. "Left lot, the FRONT lot, dead center, 2/3 the way down." I instructed them to call me when they were close so I could guide them in. I get a text saying he is there, and I respond to it telling him Ive been waiting at the car for the entire 45 minutes and that I do not see him, and to make sure he is in the correct lot. I tried calling him 3 times, and the line was busy every time. 10 minutes goes by, no AAA. I call AAA with 4% battery life and tell them what happened. They say he left so he has to re-issue a new service call. I, again, tell them exactly where I am and stress the fact that I need them to call me when they're close. 40 minutes later I get the confirmation that someone is on their way. They call me this time when they arrive, and ask me where the car is located. I told him, "There are 2 lots connected to the roundabout, one right, back lot, and one LEFT, FRONT lot." He responds with "I know that." SO I said, "Well the last guy couldn't seem to figure it out." He then says, "Well how about you shut up for a second because I am that last guy." Real professional. I guide him to me in the middle of a shouting match because he says he called my phone 3 times and it went to voicemail every time. I have call logs on my phone with 0 missed calls, as I was watching it like a hawk praying that my phone didn't die before they get there. He tries arguing with me the whole time telling me that there were no notes on the call and that I should've given them more information, which was obviously either 2 egregious mistakes and lies from the 2 separate AAA call center employees I talked to, OR Bill was lying out his ass. 0/10. and I'd give no stars if I could. Completely unprofessional and made an already stressful situation worse. I'm sure they've got other people working there, but if you get Bill as your service tech, God help you. Unfortunately I've had the pleasure of having to deal with Kings towing and just want to say one thing they are the worst towing company in the state of Rhode Island and probably the whole Northeast region of the United States. i can't believe these guys are contracted with AAA. Jason M. of Kings Towing was my driver. anyways. my 1990 ford bronco project car is in the back lot of an auto body repair shop, and it still looks like a project car. it's beat up, but it's fully registered and insured. the registration had expired since it was at the shop for a little over a year, so when Kings said they wouldn't tow it, i understood. however, when i went home, grabbed my registration off my fridge which is what Jason M of Kings Towing SAID TO DO, and called AAA back for my tow. AAA said Kings was declining my service. i asked why and they said because my car was not registered, did not have plates, was not inspected, and did not have hubcaps. 1. i got my registration and stickers in hand, send them back. 2. my car does have plates and they're antique, leading me to, 3. RI antique vehicles do not need to be inspected. 4. my truck doesn't have hubcaps because 1990 Ford Broncos don't have hubcaps, they have wheel hubs and rims. So Jason M. of Kings towing lied to AAA just because he didn't want to do his job of getting on the cold ground and towing my truck at 4pm. do not use Kings towing. it'll be a complete bust. read more

King's Towing My experience with them has been horrible, all I needed was an inspection, The horror started on Friday it took two days to take the tint off my windows another three days to tell me what I needed for an inspection I'm not sure if I really needed ? a swaybar and ball joints? they threw away all the old parts ? (red flag) then I was told my tires wouldn't pass inspection? Knowing that the tires had to be 2/30seconds to pass I had 3/32 on the tires they force me to purchase new ties in order to pass inspection I have pictures proving the tread depth on the tires this place is definitely a rip off taking advantage of people I wouldn't suggest this please to no one Please do not give this place your business read more

AAA Dispatched Kings towing. After waiting for their arrival, the Driver said we needed a Truck w a dolly because my car wouldn't start. The Car is a PUSH start and Required the driver to step on Brake when pushing Start. Now we had to loose the whole Afternoon waiting for another company to come Tow car. We needed a tow to an auto body shop in a pinch. We called AAA and Kings was dispatched. They arrived promptly. The driver was efficient and polite. He quickly got the car winched and on it's way over to Crown. No complaints. We are thankful they were able to help us out in a pinch and get the car to the shop before it closed. read more

Got a tow today from my AAA carrier who uses Kings's Towing, the gentleman from King's Towing was the BEST, he was very professional, courteous and helpful. I am so bad with names but he had blue eyes and such a kind like demeanor, he definitely took great care of us and got us and our vehicle home safely, well he did reveal that he's been driving for them for 30-years.. After receiving the keys to my car that was buried deep in there tiny ass, snow filled, parking lot. I walk-in I to see the car next to mine had been preciously smashed into... I asked the man for hot water to unfreeze my door aNd he replied that it was not his problem.. I was thoroughly confused considering I did not ask his help for anything all I asked for was hot water and then he replied that he didn't have any hot water on top of the fact that it is not his problem...?.? confusing to me how when I walked in there is a water bubbler with hot and cold water then he was telling me that his building which I believe is a health problem does not have any hot water funny how that's not his problem.... The service we got was absolutely rude I don't suggest using these people at all because if you're in any sort of a pickle or jam it's not their problem. read more

My mother took her car in for a sensor light that had come on and car was stalling out. Only reason she brought it there is because usual (trust worthy) mechanic was out of town. Long story short they charged her $600 for a job that should've cost barely $300. They took advantage of the fact she's an older lady and was alone. I wish I'd known she was taking it there. I would've advised her against it. So a day later, surprise lights back on. Brought it to trust worthy friend, ran the computer on car and code came up as (soft input) which means they took out a sensor and barely put it back in so in a day or so another code would trip and she'd bring it back and try to scam her out of money. This is common practice with crooks likes this. They're typical bs'rs. Sound like used car salesman when they're speaking to you. Telling you how long they've been in business in the community blah blah blah. The bottom line is they're crooks! Don't go there!! read more

I can only only comment on their towing. I used them to transport my suv about 5 miles. I will say that their driver was polite but their flatbed is old and was all over the place. They ended ripping my gear shaft and it cost me a few bucks to repair. I still see that flat bed on Newport Ave, it should be retired. read more

I was hit by another vehicle head-on in June, and this is the tow company that was dispatched to tow my car, as it was totaled. When i went down there a few days later to collect my belongings out of my car, i was escorted out to the storage area to gather my things and was told that i was not allowed to take my license plates at that time. That made me nervous, so i questioned why this was the case, and i was told that it was their policy,and general practice for them to keep the plates until the insurance company comes to collect the car, and they would call me soon to pick them up. I made a comment about how i hoped my plates wouldnt be lost and was told "we do this every day and we havent lost any yet". 3 weeks and 2 phone calls later, no one could find my plates. I drove down there and told them i wanted my plates, and after looking in multiple bins where they throw everyones plates together, they could not find my plates, and i was told that they didnt know what happened to them, and that i should call whoever towed the car from the lot for my plates, because they were probably still on the car. They couldnt tell me who they released the car to, or why they released the car with the plates on it, when they had insisted i leave my plates behind as per their procedure. The guy working there shrugged his shoulders at me, and basically told me it wasnt his problem because he wasnt there when the car was released. All in all, this place is a hole in the wall joke of a tow company and i cannot believe they are contracted with AAA. If your car gets towed here: dont let them keep your plates!!! read more

I called AAA to get my car towed to an auto repair shop because I needed the starter replaced. My car had been sitting for about a week and the weather had gone from cold to warm and then back to cold, so the front tire sunk into the ground a little bit. When the tow truck driver arrived, I was met with him complaining about how he was sick and he was impolite. He didn't even attempt to help me push the car and refused to winch it. Terrible service and terrible company... I'm refusing service from them and making AAA send another company who is willing to help and do their job. read more

This place is about as good as an auto repair shop gets. My AC died and I had it fixed by them. I expected a big bill. It was only $107 dollars to replace A/C resistor and replace a burned wire. Last year my wife's car needed her resistor replaced according to Pep Boys. They charged almost $300 and the problem was not fixed! I had Kings do other things on occasion because my car is older and worth a few hundred here and there because it beats the hell out of a car payment and higher insurance. I tell my friends there is no need to tell them I sent you because they treat everyone well, very fairly. I had 4 tires replaced last fall. 4 tires (Yes I made sure they were same grades I was comparing) and Kings was cheaper that time too. I didn't expect that as surely that don't have the sales volume as Pep Boys. Kings recently bought out the person that fixed my car in the past. M & M Service (Kings now has a location on Japonica St as well as Dexter St. And customer service has not missed a beat since when it was a little shop owned by Milton. Milton is still around at times and Kings maintained his level of quality and service and fair pricing. Also if you live in a reasonable distance don't be scared to ask them for a ride home and them to call you when done. They will if you need them to. read more

I am just commenting on the driving of one of the tow trucks. One of the drivers of the tow trucks just passed me, in a non-passing zone, speed limit is 35, and he was doing about 55. Then he proceeded into the highway in which I was going, only to tail every single car he was behind. Would not trust my car with these people. read more

These guys don't know what they are talking about. My wife's car was towed and he told her that it was not her battery or any of the spark plugs and it might be the fuel pump which will cost $500. I brought my car to my mechanic and he verified it was not the fuel pump but the spark plug which he fix for way less then $500. On top of that the Asian guy had a nerve to tell me to go to school for cars then I told him I'm not the mechanic and that maybe he should go back to school to be a real mechanic. As soon as I told him I have a degree in science his facial expression turn very sour and he did not have anything else to say. I was warned by my neighbors about them so I advise anyone who is thinking about going here don't, you will definitely be over charged for something that might not even be broken. read more
