I wanted to wait for my insurance co. to send roadside assistance, but was told my car was "blocking the roadway," though it was actually well situated in a parallel parking place. After the car was towed to Haskins, my insurance company arranged to have my car transported to a body shop closer to my residence. Mike, the manager at Roadside Rescue refused to release the vehicle to my insurance company unless I came in person to sign a release. I live 2 hours away, and this was just before the holidays, so I was embarking on family travel making it difficult to fulfill this request. I asked that that Mike send me the release form in the mail. He refused. I asked if he could email the release form to me. He refused. I asked for my spouse to sign the release form in person on my behalf. He refused. They essentially were holding my vehicle hostage while also insisting that Haskins Automotive, a body shop in Wellesley, could provide the body work. To agree to release the car to my insurance company, they insisted that they tow the car out of state, which out of desperation, my insurance adjuster agreed to do. Roadside charged almost as much for the towing as the new body shop quoted for the body work. Vitale, the mechanic at Haskins, is very nice; however, with Mike, the manager of Roadside Rescue, an affiliated business, the business practices include intimidation and force. If they had a great reputation, they would not have to impose their service on customers.

While one might associate the men and women who do towing of vehicles in a negative light, let me…read moredispose you of that notion. The muffler fell out of my car earlier this week. Talk about inconvenient. It was laying on the ground but after it cooled, I was able to wrestle it off. Without the muffler, my Saturn sounded like a B52 and therefore undrivable. I immediately called AAA and was promised a tow within 30 minutes. In less time than that, up comes a clean car carrier from Henry's Towing and Mark, the driver. Clean, neat, courteous and polite. He drove my car onto his flatbed and off we went. I drove with Mark in his truck cab. What? No trash? No coffee cups? No, just like you'd keep your home. It was just a tow but done with no pressure and complete efficiency. Mark and I shook hands at the end. Losing your car temporarily is always a chore but if it has to be loaded to a repair shop, Mark and Henry's Towing is a good first bet.

My car was towed for street sweeping; this was my fault, and I can accept that. When I went to retrieve it, I made some complaints about the driver's behavior and was completely brushed off. I continued to voice my complaints and at that point the younger man working made a literal death threat. (The older man was fine, albeit dismissive of the problem) I don't want to hear anything about 'boys being boys' or any of that type of nonsense. You do NOT make threats to anyone, no matter how frustrating you find them. I filed a police report but likely it will be ignored as all these type of interactions are. I feel very unsafe now because this person literally knows where I live. I am posting this as a warning to anyone who has to deal with them. I would welcome contact from the owner of the company, if any other employee attempts to contact me, I will call the police.

Wellington really doesn't keep batteries around for my car's over-sized, rear-mounted battery, so I did have to pick one up at the parts counter of the local dealer. AAA will give you a jump, but their battery service won't touch them. Same with any auto parts store that plugs "free installation." I really recommend the Wellington approach in this scenario!)

He also waited until AAA arrived and we were able to get a ride with them. If we couldn't, he offered to get us off the highway so I could call someone from a safe area. I appreciated everything! I would definitely recommend them. Especially since we didn't even call them, he stopped on his own to check our safety.

It's started with not being able to find the lot... I had to call haha, which I'll admit made me nervous after reading the yelp page but the gentleman that answered the phone was so pleasant. Then Tony, who helped me clean out my vehicle, even moved it to a more accessible spot for me then made sure i had anything and went above and beyond what was required of him to get my VERY stuck license plates off my car. Very speedy and professional service, hopefully I never have to use them for accident recovery again but would not hesitate for any other services. Thank you guys for making this very stressful time a little more bearable.

No. Was it my own fault? Yes. They were responsive and helpful. It was no more expensive than any other towing companies that I've encountered in the past. In fact, i thought the extra days storage charge was reasonable. Don't hate on the towing company.
