There cold latte

1st time coming here on a Sunday. I was very disappointed. Service was slow and getting the food was slow. We just ordered a tuna melt and omlett. Tuna melt was horrible yuk. I think they forgot about it that's why it took forever. Even the croissant we has was yuk. I will never come back here. Rodeo 208 was 10x better. Ambiance was ok.

I visited Vicky for the first time yesterday on a super hot day. Sophia, who checked us in to a table and josh the manager were extremely helpful and friendly to get a table that was not sunny for me and my dogs. It's a smaller spot but it was cozy and had great food. I was very impressed with the Caesar wrap. Overall I would definitely come back!

Butter be good is all I can say. And it is! Wanted to try a new place so found Vicky on Rodeo and haven't had French food in a while. Simple place inside with some outdoor seating in the fancy Rodeo mall which is a tourist Mecca and we are locals. So we did it anyways. Warning... the place is new so doesnt have their beer & wine license yet. So check with them if thats important. We had dinner inside. They were playing a real French Pop music station and it was pretty loud for a very small restaurant. Not the kind of music I want to hear. And yes, in France many cafes do play this exact kind of music, so I guess it's authentic. You know the French like jazz too and that I would be down with but the untz untz pop, not good for us . Nice pretty big varied menu with great choices. Prices seemed decent except for the $105 dollar sole. I know , sole is expensive but this seemed a bit much. Asked for bread and they quickly served up great sliced baguette with real French butter in those little foil rolls . Nice. Didnt charge for it either! The menu really has a lot of choices and something for everyone IMO. Wife ordered the truffle fries as a starter. Why not. The fries came out first. Freshly cut and they could have used another minute or two in the fryer, and they were pretty small length. Not sure if we got the bottom of the bin or not. But good fresh potato flavor and topped with a fair amount of REAL black truffle! Most places with truffle fries sprinkle on truffle powder which is a cheat. But not here. The real deal. I started with the Artichokes app. I love chokes and these are fantastic. Lightly seasoned panko breaded big hearts, in what is a fairly light yet buttery herb sauce. Butter. France. All the time. (My cholesterol is going up as we ate.) And I then realized the chokes are the same as Savta Restaurant at the Grove which we love, which means it's the same owners. So I knew the food would be great and it delivered! For entrees I couldn't decide as so many things sounded great. I went with the beef bourguinon and wife went with the Salmon. Both top choices per our waiter who was great and very attentive to us. Salmon was nicely done with a, you guessed it, buttery sauce with nice fresh asparagus. The beef bourguignon was really delicious. Super tender fall apart beef, nice portion size with yes a wine sauce finished with butter. Classicly done and not over seasoned but quite savory. The carrots and mushrooms still had the perfect amount of freshness and "bite" to them. So many places cook up a batch of beef bourgeon in advance so the veggies are mushy. Not here. This sauce was freshly prepared the way it should be. And lots of those nice little pearl onions as well that also seemed to pop and not be mushy. Kudos. And it was served with what they call their signature pomme puree. Meaning super creamy, (check that) buttery mash potatoes. Pretty sure these had more butter than potatoes and maybe even a hint of chesse. They were decedent. To full for desert but things sounded really good. And dishes we saw go by also looked quite special too. And the breakfast menu and sandwiches also sounded fantastic. So really a lot to choose from day or night night at Vicky. We will wait until they get their b&w license before returning and sit outside to avoid the loud French pop music . And for our cholesterol to subside. But the food is quite good. So if you like quality French food in an accessible environment... And butter. lots of good butter. Then this is your place.

Open…read moreat 8am and I went in and looked over the take home soups first and decided on the vegetarian black bean and chicken with white beans and fennel for later. The soups looked terrific as I recall. Tough choices from the selection, as I know them to be very savory and satisfying. I then looked over the breakfast menu, as if I really needed a menu. But checked it over as a "just in case". I was helped immediately by the friendly lady at the register and placed my order for the Clementine Breakfast Sandwich, which is my go to when I'm here. Waiting for my sandwich to be made with the poached egg(you have the choice of fried egg, poached, or scrambled eggs). I looked over the fresh baked items, which is a hit and cannot be ignored because the display is literally in your face when you walk in the main entrance single door. I did give the items a once over when I initially walked in. But got down to the other business of the soups and breakfast items first. After some in-fighting with myself over which item(s) to purchase. I decided on the apple turnover to go with my large House Blend coffee with milk & Sugar in the Raw packets provided at the self serve table next to the front entrance door. Napkins, coffee stirrer sticks, Sweet n Low, and C&H sugar packets are also offered. Since it's October 2026. Pumpkin loaf slices were being offered, in the display as well and other similar offerings, such as Ginger Scones, butter Toffee cookies etc. I sat at the window table while waiting for my order overlooking the "patio area" of tables, umbrellas, and chairs on the sidewalk that are normally filled with patrons on a nice sunny day. But it being early morning right after opening and a bit gloomy and cool outside from the Tropical Storm Rachel. The tables were empty with the patrons seated inside instead. The tables are as I remember them. Seating for two or four, upper deck area with larger tables and a restroom towards the rear of the dining area. Comfy wooden chairs and tables, the unmistakable smell of fresh baked goods, along with other foods being cooked and prepared. The ambiance has always been warm, inviting, clean, and leaves a mark on you that you want to come back. It's like a place that you can call "home". Friendly and helpful staff, terrific food offerings, possible movie star sightings, very clean, and just a well decorated and inviting atmosphere. There are so many offerings to like here. It's the many reasons I keep coming back! Supporting Clementine's since 2014.

Even when there's other tables around, even when it's one minute before closing time. I don't think he understands how restaurants work. He will tell you not to go inside because the place is closed, even though you're just trying to get napkins to pack your food. I've witnessed him being rude to multiple other customers, he will rip the salt off your table, will start slamming chairs around you and give you a death stare! And even though I brought it up to the manager and to other employees, nothing has been done and he still works there. He absolutely ruined this place for me that I used to patron for over a decade. Awful move! And even worse to ignore that this is happening when you've been told multiple times. The other employees are cool, the food is decent, and the manager I thought was awesome, but they are completely ignoring this issue and it needs to be addressed . That guy needs to go! They will lose more patronage.

There was a gentleman working behind the counter with dark curly hair (I didnt catch his name since they don't wear name tags) but this guy is a star employee and if corporate is listening- invest in people like him. The whole time that we ate inside during our meal, I saw him greet every single customer who came in- even if he was busy, he acknowledged every one immediately and said he would be right with them. I saw him speed grabbing 3 online orders and put them together SO fast (one of them was mine) and it came out perfect with all my modifications correct. He was quick, accurate and attentive to customers. This was earlier today on 5/16 in the afternoon. Corporate needs to highlight this guy as employee of the month if they haven't already. Walked in on a Sunday around 11:30am, restaurant maybe a quarter full. Seated in a corner with incomplete silverware, no menus for several minutes, no water for even longer. Waited another 10-15 minutes with menus in hand before anyone came to take our order. The food wait aside, what really stood out was the lack of basic check-ins. No "sorry for the wait," no acknowledgment, and when I finally asked for the bill, the manager came over with the terminal, took payment, and walked off without much of a follow-up except to hand over boxes. Just a little warmth goes a long way! Food, when it arrived: * Landwer's Pancakes: the highlight. Three pancakes tall with seasonal fruit, whipped cream, Nutella, and maple syrup. Delicious and a generous portion. * Croissant Sandwich: disappointing. Tough, chewy croissant with thinner filling than the bread size warranted. Hard to get a clean bite. The Century City location is convenient, and parking on weekend mornings is easy before the crowds roll in.

My friend and I made a reservation for outdoor dining for brunch. We arrive right around our reservation time to find nobody at the podium. After a few minutes, a woman comes up and asks, "For two?" before immediately turning around and walking the other way, to which point we stop her and say that we actually had a reservation which we gave her all the details for. She stopped for about half a second, grabbed menus, then turned around again and brought the menus to an indoor table, then just walked away without making eye contact. She did not even tell us to follow her nor say a single word to us once we were seated. No worries, right? Wrong. We perused the menus and waited for about ten minutes, with no staff members coming by to help us. We started looking around to try to flag someone down, but each staff member was either not looking in our direction and/or wearing a different outfit from the next staff member, with some outfits almost having a nightclub aesthetic than wait staff. Eventually, another individual comes by our table and, again, without greeting us or making any eye contact, aloofly says, "Just order off the QR code," which we didn't see because the menus were covering it. Now, my friend who I was with works in the mall, and I know the restaurant offers a discount for mall employees, so as the employee was walking away, I called out and asked if we would still get the discount if ordering off the QR code, and he said yes. Note that in all the times my friend and I have eaten here in the past, it was always traditional table service. Then, we go to place our order, and after adding everything to the basket, it tries to charge my credit card. At this point, almost 20 minutes had gone by since we arrived, with still no single greeting or water or silverware set or anything. I get up to speak to another waiter who was helping nearby tables, to which I am again told to just order off the QR code but was reassured that the mall discount would be applied once the tab was settled. So we oblige and place our order through the portal. Several minutes later, the same waiter who I had most recently spoken with had come to our table (mind you, this is the first time someone came to our table in the entire time we were seated) and said that the restaurant was out of some of the items on our menu. And it was at this point that we FINALLY got waters. At this point, we had to look through the menu again, but it was getting to the point where we were going to miss our movie, so we had to just abandon ship and eat at the mall food court. Upon leaving, the only acknowledgement we got was from the first woman who "brought" us to our table, which was a petty smile and wave. Allow me to make myself clear. I hold no animosity against any establishment for being short-staffed, for requiring QR code ordering, or for being out of ingredients. This stuff just happens. What I do have an issue with is the astounding lack of any grace or hospitality, without even a simple "Whenever you're ready go ahead and use the QR codes on the table" or even a welcome. It just felt as though every person was just trying to get by with doing the bare minimum, and every employee had attitude. Even the couple next to us, who had been seated before we arrived, never got acknowledged. It's honestly a shame, because many of the items here are great, and the offerings are unique, but if this is how Cafe Landwer chooses to operate and treat its customers, I won't be back.

A lot of the non expensive places are on South Beverlyso if you don't really care about price, anything orth of Wilshire has plenty of options. However, we are lucky to have wrapstar close by where you can get a solid wrap or salad for about $15. That's a deal in this area. You can walk down Wilshire a bit and find a subway but I'm cool on that. This place is quick and right outside our doorsteps.its a small shop with a few tables and chairs outside in case you would like to enjoy your salad, paninior or wrap on a nice sunny day. It's walk up and you watch them prepare your meal right there. The people working there are nice and prepare your food pretty quick. They do have drinks, chips and cookies for sale to go along with your food. I've ordered the southwest salad and the taco wrap which were both pretty good! I am looking forward to trying one of their paninins next. The only negative about the location is the parking. The only parking is paid parking across the street in the building 9601 or you can drive around to find metered parking but keep in mind thee streets are one way so don't come here starving thinking its going to be a breeze. If in the area, give it a shot! OOOO 4 out of 5 Afros

There is a giant multi-story parking garage beneath, so there are plenty of paid parking spaces on site. This restaurant has an absolutely beautiful design to it. It really feels like a Miami sunset and kind of a early 90s, late 80s aesthetic. I love the contrasting mood lighting and just the whole design was done really well. I especially love the bar. The restaurant's office is quite large and has many different seating options, from booth, to table, to counter. They also have an outdoor seating area. Our server was extremely polite, and I will admit that the items here are a bit expensive, and smaller portions, but the taste makes up for it. I started off with the Market Heirloom Tomatoes and really enjoyed them. I especially liked the sherry vinaigrette, and felt the sesame was a nice touch. Plus they were extremely fresh. We also ordered the Yellowtail Crudo for the table, which was very light and refreshing and packed with flavor. For my entrée, I chose the Prime Rib Cheesesteak and thought it was absolutely fantastic. It's basically a French onion soup version of a cheesesteak, and I loved every bit of it. I wish I could get it twice the size, with extra cheese. Very big fan of it, and I would highly recommend. We ended the meal with Salted Caramel Pudding, and it was a real highlight. The caramel pieces mixed with the caramel drizzle was an amazing combo. I would highly recommend this place, and I plan to be back again next time I'm shopping at the mall and need a quick bite before heading home.
