Hot sauce

Service was definitely 5/5, all the staff we met were helpful and genuinely friendly. The space is lovely with high ceilings and definitely gets loud after 7PM lol. I met a fellow Red Sox fan! We came specifically for the burger since Marée only serves 25 of them every night. Burger did not come out hot, sadly! It was definitely herbaceous and flavorful. Mushrooms were good, I liked the onion ring inside, bread was also good, but I'm not sure this is a 42 dollar burger in a burger town like LA. Fries were heavily seasoned with the herbs de provence and temperature wise the hottest item that night. Also really liked the cheese bits in the beef tartare, and the hot sauce reminded me a bit of Al and Bea's hot sauce. It came in a bottle that we were shaking aggressively as not much comes out per shake :') Parking is street parking in the neighborhood or main road! Not too bad.

Oye vey, they took away the Valet. No they didn't, it is now at the Cameo Hotel around the corner and up a steep ramp. Wear sensible shoes. Maree took over Bicyclette which never pedaled very far or long. That replaced Picca where Chef Ricardo Zarate suddenly got a red ass and suddenly split. Thanks to Chef Jernmark's (Lielle downstairs) vision, Maree is now a dream come true. An authentic French Bistro and it is authentic instead of some ersatz Cali Spa Cuisine with a French flair whatever that is. Maree is serving straight ahead, three chord, traditional Bistro classics that rock. So, it is no longer necessary to burn off all your frequent flyer points to go to Chez Josephine in Paris. This place buzzes from the opening bell. The Music Loop is a touch too loud, the tables are a touch too small, the wooden school chairs are a touch to uncomfortable and a touch too close to your neighbor but look on the bright side it's better for evesdropping). The Staff: An army of uniformed Servers, Runners, and Bussers all wiping or crumbing tables, bringing plates or refreshing them. Your Server will give you the Menu spiel, but the menu is in the King's English so you can dispense with that. The concept is shared plates, small, medium and large. I'm an only child...so share this. Food this good should not be shared. Okay, yes it should. The Bar: Wine, wine, and more wine. By the glass or by the Book. The list as huge as the rough draft of The Count of Monte Cristo. The choices are eclectic so enlist the Gillian, The Wine Mom Somm to help navigate through the heroic list. Who's here? The industry that are't on set in Morocco. Portfolios at the ready next to the tables, just in case. The Food: The Kitchen is in constant motion cranking out great dishes like their Toques was on fire. The Yellowtail Crudo with late Summer Citrus segments, (Baby Ruby Red Grapefruit and Orange). Lemon Juice and Shishito Powder added a distant pleasant peppery punch. This was a wonderful launch for a wonderful dining adventure. The Spaghetti Vongole was the very best version I've ever had. Perfectly cooked Pasta in a beautiful briny clammy Sauce without having to wrestle clams out of their shells. No danger of bouncing a meaty clam off the forehead of the gorgeous model at the next table. This dish alone is worth a quick return as it was truly spiritual. I don't eat Veal Sausage which was the third thing I ordered. It was lean, juicy, tasty and arrived coiled like a snake or a Bosun's rope. Think pretty thoughts and devour the offering without guilt or even if you have guilt. The Sausage was nestled on a bed of Green Lentils (very French). It came with barely cooked Baby Cauliflower Florets, House Made Mustard and Au Jus. I'll confess my Sin on Sunday but I loved my Veal Sausage on Thursday. Next up was the humble Summer Squash elevated to magic as if pulled out of a Hat instead the Salamander. Pieces of Green and Yellow Squash were par boiled and bathed in a terrific Green Goddess Dressing along with a large serving spoon of crunchy Pistachio Dukkah. A simple, yet thoughtfully prepared perfect dish I couldn't stop reaching for. The main event was the Duck Breast with Ravigote Sauce (reduced Duck Broth, Herbs, Dijon Mustard). The Breast was surgically removed, and the Medallions were arranged in a long line on a dedicated plate and was fabulous. In less capable hands Duck can be fatty and chewy. Not here. They have the Duck down. Chicory Salad was the last course and very European. Fine to saute the next morning with Toast and 7 minute Cooked Eggs. No room for Dessert so I ordered two. C'est la vie. I had to. Creme Brulee was a cut above whatever you've had around town. Hard to make correctly and easy to make a poor one. This was rich and delicious. The piece de resistance was the Caneles de Bordeaux. A thumb sized little cake. A crunchy crust protecting a soft sweet crumb inside. I will order a bucket of those beauties next time. Maree, I'm on my way back to your loving arms as quick as I can snag a table before 9:45.

I saw the glowing LA Times Food article and booked a last minute reservation to try their renowned Hamburger au poivre. I dropped the ball and missed out on the burger because I made a late reservation, but thankfully there's other items on the menu worthy of your palate. Cuisine: 4/5. Dry rub steak. Super tender and succulent. The rub was bomb.com and full of flavor. Make your vegan friends watch you eat it. Spelt sourdough baguettes & le beurre border gives me hope that you can still find decent bread on this side of the pond. Beverages: 4/5. I'm an unrepentant symp for Parisian Bistro's, Bordeaux's, and pairing the two. I went with the La galouchey, bordeaux blend. It was aight. I'll try something else when I return for the burger. Service: 5/5. Between my reservation mishap and the busy dinner rush, the host and servers still checked in on me. Much respect to your team. Ambiance: 5/5. It's definitely a bistro, which means it's a boisterous environment. Yes, you might have to talk at a higher decibel and annunciate clearly - but it's alive - and in a city that worships smoke & mirrors - that's a good thing. Note: there's valet, but street parking is available if you're up for a short walk. Unless you're mobility impaired, use the feet god gave you and get to steppin.

We went there for our anniversary dinner and we were very satisfied with the experience. Let's break it down. SERVICE We were greeted by the Master of the Bistro, Christian. His authentic and warm vibe permeates the entire restaurant. As such, the entire staff seemed light hearted, friendly and attentive. The waters were filled, our wine was filled, and all the food was served in a perfectly timed sequence. FOOD As for food. This is French Cuisine restaurant, and while I have eaten French food before I had not tried Escargot before. This time we did, and it was great. The outer shell was fried and the inner was soft. We also had the mussels. Then we chose to eat the Duck, and that was delicious as well. We tried a couple of other appetizers and all was delicious. AMBIANCE Ambiance is always a big deal. Let's break it down some more: Lighting: Real Candles on the tables, not battery powered ones, provide a soft warm tone to everything! The lighting in the restaurant is dimm-ish but not too dim. It's just right. Sound: The music in the background was excellent. I heard a few songs that I know that I loved, for example one song by Amy Winehouse. But the key is that the song selection matched the energy of the room. Not too slow, not too fast, not too weird, not too loud, Just right. The restaurant was full, so there were a lot of people talking and it was fine. Seating: This place is new. So all of the seats were new and comfortable. Our table was a close to another which allowed us to converse with our neighbors casually, adding more warmth to the experience. Decor: The place is new. It's renovated. The style is modern yet cozy with lots of wood. Very high ceilings, long whitish curtains. PRICE Considering that any restaurant in LA is generally unreasonably priced, this high end place is priced unreasonably well. That is, within the realm of unreasonably priced restaurants, this restaurant is reasonably priced. The only true con to this experience is Parking. I could not find parking easily but got lucky as I waited for a car to leave. This was on Pico blvd, not a street that you want to parallel park.

Shayne C.

Quite good, I'd say Marée adeptly scratches the itch if you're looking for a French Bistro in LA. The starters were good. The persimmons needed more time for ripening, so they weren't as sweet as they could have been in the salad they came with, but I liked whatever smoky crumble was used, and of course straciatella is always a delight. The culatello was great, tender and slightly warm, and it came thinly sliced with these wonderful crackers and an addictive mostarda. But the highlight of the starters was the tartare. It was unctuous, rippled through with fat and Parmigiano cheese and seasoned with a dressing from beef drippings (I think?). One of the best tartares in LA atm. Now moving on to mains, we did try the burger. It will be great for some, but it just didn't suit me. The beef was properly cooked and I liked the addition of crispy onion rings and a properly toasted bun, but the jus for dipping was too funky and I was missing some proper cheese. However the veal sausage was remarkable. Perfectly grilled over a bed of country lentils (and a couple broccoli heads) that were just spritzed with vinegar in the pan. Amazing, it brought me back to my childhood. We finished with a crème brûlée that, while properly cooked, was unfortunately cold in parts and lacked a shatter for the caramel topping (it stuck together in places). As for drinks, I went for their house spritz and some wines by the glass, all of which were great. Frankly, wine lover though I am, I could drink that spritz day and night and be more than happy. Overall, a good 6/10 which for a bistro is more than fair. You have to remember, this isn't a restaurant that will earn a Michelin Star. This is casual food, country food, it's not supposed to be perfect. It did the job for me, it was homey, the service was prompt and friendly, and I had a great time. I will definitely be coming back!!!

This is the best French bistro in LA. High-quality ingredients without too much salt and butter. The inside is beautiful. The chef has done an extraordinary job, giving you flavors and quality that you do not normally taste. We would definitely be back.

I finally had a chance to try Petit Trois for a post-Pantages lunch…read more My mom, aunt, and I made reservations for 4:30pm on a Sunday (which was not necessary, they had plenty of room.) The indoor seating was bar tops only and their tables are outside in the makeshift patio, since they are located in a shopping center with Yum Yum Donuts. We didn't love how in order to park in the lot we had to pay the $17 valet fee even though there were plenty of spaces. I feel like that service should only be mandatory during peak dining hours. Anyways, the host and hostess were both very nice and walked us to our table. The host/our waiter for the first half of the meal made some recommendations and shared what the daily special was. To drink, I had the Spritz which was good - nothing to write home about, but it got the job done. We started our meal with a fresh baguette and homemade butter which was divine. For our main meal, we shared the heirloom tomato salad, trout almandine, and "Big Mec" with frites. The heirloom salad - although simple - was refreshing and had a perfectly balanced dressing. The trout was the start of the show. Crispy skin, crispy almonds, and SWIMMING in butter. The Big Mec was also quite good, but I think at that point I was a bit too full to enjoy it. But the meat was cooked well, and the sauce they drizzle on top was tasty. No dessert since we were stuffed. It was truly an indulgent meal. Of the French restaurants I have had in LA, I'd say Petit Trois was memorable. I think if I were to go again I would visit their Sherman Oaks location solely based on the ambiance.

We were told the Big Mec was the move for a first visit. So rich, so delicious. I've honestly never had a burger quite in that category before. We had the steak frites too and loved it. The whole thing just felt like a great lunch. Taking our time, hanging at the bar, nowhere to rush off to. Only thing missing was a glass of wine, which I'll fix next time. Very excited we finally made it. Can't wait to come back.

And the food, which skews rustic/French/Mediterranean, is phenomenal as well. I highly recommend getting an order of baguettes with butter. They come out warm and fresh. The grilled octopus with avocado mousse and toasted hazelnuts is always charred to perfection. And the Portuguese piri-piri shrimp is extremely flavorful as well. For entrees, I almost always get the fresh pappardelle, served with a poached egg on top. With creme fraiche and porcini mushrooms, the dish is so creamy, eggy, and rich. Could almost lick the bowl when I'm done. Don't skip dessert. The ambience is pretty, especially the area with the lights on the ceiling, but the overall vibe felt more lively and party-like THAN romantic. The music was house music, there was a lot going on, and some people showed up in costumes with groups of friends. If you want to spend time with your friends I say come here but don't expect the food to be good. If you saw this place from TikTok and thought it would feel like a little Disney scene it really didn't feel that way to me. My boyfriend and I waited about 15 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, even though it wasn't very busy. The staff was flexible and nice about moving us to a diff spot near the lights, which I appreciated. But we still waited a full hour for our food, and no one checked in on us until after it arrived :/ My bf ordered the $80 steak, which was a small portion and wasn't very good. He said he didn't like how the potatoes were made it was super chunky and they have it with green beans instead of asparagus if that's your preference... but we've seen juicier, larger steak at Nonna's for $20 less. As for me I ordered the pappardelle, but I didn't enjoy it. The noodles tasted doughy, and didn't like how they cut out leaf peas and fried garlic in the mixture... so we were not fans of the food. As for the housemade malawach bread it was super oily and the leafs on top were long. I mean presentation of the food was cute but not tasty or enjoyable lol. The setting is nice, but the service and food didn't live up to what we expected. For a more romantic dinner, I'd choose somewhere like Cara or Nonna's instead because this was just super disappointing for my 2 year anniversary dinner experience.
