This was my first time ever at a CAVA. I usually prepare myself for disappointment when eating chain eateries because of a lack of flavor. Upon entering, I was overwhelmed with the amount of options I had to customize my bowl. My girlfriend and I both built our own bowls (her first time, too!) and we ended up with 2 completely different flavors even though we had the same meats and greens. I finished my steak bowl with hummus, feta, and garlic dressing and achieved a nice umami rich flavor, while she customized hers with tzatziki, Persian cucumbers, and a dill dressing. This embodies how versatile CAVA is in meeting your preferences. The store was very chic and lively. The staff members were very patient with us and took the time to explain the toppings and dressings. Lastly, CAVA offers a great bang for your buck. Me and my girlfriend left with full, happy bellies for less than 40 bucks! Then add you base from a selection of greens (various lettuces, cabbage, kale etc) and or grains (rice / beans). Then you pick from various proteins. Salmon, steak, lamb, chicken prepared with spices and seasonings. Then unlimited toppings such as cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives and many more. Finally pick your sauce. You end up with a fresh and healthy salad and protein. The bowl easily serves two of us for a light lunch or for one hungry person. They have many drink options and sodas to accompany your meal. Excellent food alternative to any fast casuals and has been on top of my go-to lists! If you like healthy Mediterranean inspired fast casuals restaurants, CAVA does not disappoint! I usually get half grain half veggie and opt in for braised lamb and all toppings. Their lamb is one of the best among fast food chains and very tender and flavorful. You cannot go wrong with any of the sauces either as all of them are delicious and not too heavy. I also found their drink selection pleasantly delicious! We like Blueberry Lavender the most, followed by Pineapple Apple Mint and Cucumber Mint Lime. I came here on Saturday and I was surprised they were fully stocked since this location usually isn't. My go-to order is a greens and grains bowl with chicken and almost all the toppings. I thought the food was consistent with other Cavas. The service is consistently not great here and they are often out of things (I was just lucky this time). I understand that it must be stressful having to prepare food at such a busy location, but staff are aloof and it feels like they are rushing you to leave every time. They seemed annoyed when my friend and I asked for our pita chips they forgot to get for us. At least they have ample seating. I only got some pita chips as a snack but it was so crazy and chaotic when I came. The staff seemed overworked and there were lines for both ordering to dine in as well as people waiting for pick up orders. When I arrived, there wasn't a designated staff member handing out the items nor was there a line to pick up the items. I would have appreciated if they had a better system like a self serve if they are short staffed. I don't blame the staff for this, as they were still friendly! I'm not from LA but I'm obsessed with Cava, and every time I come to LA I look forward to eating Cava the most. This time was no exception and I happily found out that there is a Cava in Westfield Century City! However, my experience ended up disappointing and I think if this was my first Cava taste...I would not return to this chain ever. From the service to the food, there was room for improvement everywhere. On a Saturday at 3pm, my group got in line behind about four parties (consisting of about 10-12 people total). The line honestly did not look long at all....but we stood there for FOURTY MINUTES before we got to the counter to order. Luckily, we were not on a time crunch but I saw plenty of potential customers leave the line to go eat elsewhere. I'm honestly not sure WHY the line was moving so slow. The processes just seemed incredibly inefficient. The bottleneck was at the last station where you add your toppings and the bowls/wraps piled up there. They need to hire more employees working the counters because the man slowly scooping the toppings was also running around getting chips and doing other things. This store needs more people, each doing less things. We eventually got our bowls and I thought it wasn't as good as other Cava I've had. I know that each food component probably follows some sort of formula for preparation and seasoning, but for some reason my toppings seemed slightly watery or off. The place is clean, however, the steak in my salad had SO much gristle in it that it was not even edible. Why even bother offering it if the quality is so poor? Disgusting. Add to that the fact that they add such a comical amount of dressing that it was more like a soup than a salad. Before ordering anything, I asked if they accepted cash and a gentleman said yes. However once I get to the register, I was told no cash. To be honest, I was only getting a bag of their pita chips, because they are delicious. This wasn't the end of the world, nor did it ruin my day; I just said I would return more prepared another day. However, the girl handed them over to me anyway, which surprised me but was a sweet gesture. I tried to give her the cash but she wouldn't accept it. Thanks Cava! Did return a few days later and had placed an order on their site. Man, this was the rush I expected; it was packed from the line to order to the waiting area (which was basically in front of the beverages), but there were a decent amount of seats since most probably took their food back to their desk/offices.
