I was super excited about this place being Eastern European myself....but was a little disappointed. Food was decent, but nothing to glbrag about. Cevapi were a little bland. Adjvar (Lyutenica) costs extra with the cevapi. The Grilled Feta was a joke (deducting 1star just for that) Service is order at a counter an then wait for a looomg time to get your food brought out. Went here while all the bosnians were in town for the world cup and it was MOBBED. If there's one thing bosnian people love, it's their country's own food. Despite it being so busy, the service was wonderful, the woman who was cooking in the back came by and personally thanked people for their patience. The ćevapi and burek were excellent! If you're not familiar with bosnian food - get the ćevapi 10 pieces, with onion (duh) and extra side of kajmak (you won't regret it). They were out of the tufahije but if you see it in the menu, order it for dessert! This place deserves all the love! read more

No one else there when we ordered, two lamb skewers took more than 30 minutes. Small servings, lamb very tough to chew. 4 pieces on skewer for $19, bit of rice and salad. Bosnian restaurant with homey vibes. Came here for dinner with a friend as we wanted to try something different, and I've had this place bookmarked. We split a plate of grilled veggies (the full size is good for two) and the combo plate. We opted for the mix of 10 cevapi, 1 beef patty, and 2 shish kebabs but you can also get 30 cevapi instead. The cevapi were these little rolls of beef and were absolutely delicious; those were my fave. We had a side of warm pita bread to accompany the meat, and it was a great hearty combo. For dessert, we split a tufahiya because it sounded cool. It's essentially a peeled apple with a walnut paste inside and a light syrup outside of it. It's not too sweet (the walnut paste was not seeet at all) and it was interesting to look it. The waitress was nice and there seemed to be a lot of locals that go here. Went with a group of 5 in February. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and wanted dressing on side. Salad came with no dressing. I told the guy who brought it out and he refused to listen and said dressing is on there. I started to eat it and no dressing at all. Asked another waiter if I could have some Caesar dressing. He never brought it. Asked a third guy and after 10 more minutes I finally got some. Most of my family was done with their food before I got the dressing. A little disappointing. read more

Lots of cucumbers, which was appreciated. 3/5 - Cherry Pie: They call it cherry pie, but it's really more of a strudel 3/5 - Bosanski Lonac: Traditional slow cooked vegetable and chunky beef stew. Pretty good. 3/5 - Tufahiya: Bosnian dessert made of walnut-stuffed apples poached in sugar water. 3/5 - Cevapi Specialty: Ground beef kebabs served on homemade pita bread. Comes with onions on the side. We got 1 large and 1 small. The small is a good size (it's actually half of the large). The large was huge and I had to take 1/2 home! This Balkan eatery/market in a indescript shopping center in west LA seems to be exclusively frequented by Serbian, Montenegren, and Croatian nationals and that is just fine by me. It's authentic and if you don't have any experience with the Balkans you may find the menu a bit tough to navigate but it's basically mediterranean food. Ten little beef kebabs (cevapi) are formed by hand out of minced beef, grilled over charcoal, and placed in a flatbread. The beef morsels are crazy tender and juicy and seasoned with spices and black pepper. Tear off some of the bread, which has air bubbles like a crumpet on the inside and is crispy crackling on the outside. The fresh, crunchy, diced onions add a sweet counterpunch to the meat. Service: All the servers here are super friendly and attentive. Dining Area: Plenty of indoor and outdoor tables. The patio area are popular with smokers. Some of the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. Made me feel a ratatouille moment for a culture I don't come from. The food here is so delicious and homey, and every bite was fantastic. Eating here makes me feel as if I were at someone's home, eating food made with the love of a parent. The grilled potatoes were simple and tasty, and the grilled peppers were a nice way to cut through the fattiness of the other dishes.
