Stopped for lunch. It's located in a small shopping plaza. There is plenty of parking. Bakery is clean and spacious with about 7 tables. Staff is polite and attentive. I ordered a Pan Con Bistec/Steak Sandwich and a Cafe Con Leche/Milk with Coffee to go. The sandwich is a very generous serving. I ate half and took the other half home for dinner. My second time in this Vicky's and I really like it. This is the most authentic Cuban bakery in Orlando. As soon as you walk in, you smell the pastries and the strong smell of Cuban coffee. The pastelitos here are the best. The guava and guava-cheese are my favorites. The service is always friendly and pretty fast. Been here quite a few times already. This time I went because I was curious to try the collab they did with Flanigans (if you're from Miami you know). They're limited to the month of February. I of course ordered the croqueta poppers and they make them fresh to order. They were crunch and the filling was good. They serve it with a side of flanigans signature bbq and that makes it a lot better! Also tried a bowl that came with rice, beans, and choice of meat with I went with pulled pork and plantains. The desserts in the cases looked amazing. You order at the register, sit down & then they call your name. No table service. The staff is very nice, and helped me accommodate my 96 year old dad! Finally, a real Cuban bakery with real Cuban bread!! The breads they sell at most stores which they claim to be "Cuban bread" are not even close to the real one. The croquetas are delicious full of actual meat filling, and not doughy. I only wish the Papa Rellena' s were larger (like large typical size instead of 3 little ones) that a Cuban household is used to eating. Coming from Miami we love supporting good cuban bakeries. My last visit was disappointing. We placed an online order 2 days in advance and paid for party platters to surprise friends in NC. Well it was a 2 hour drive for us to pick up the order only to be told they didn't have the "party croquetas" which bring 25. We understand that things happen but a courtesy call to say we cannot fill your order but we can do "this" or "that" for you would have been a good customer service practice. Instead we got 5 regular size croquetas for the equivalent price. Not great service in my opinion. I realize my comment and poor rating will not make them lose business but buyer beware. We will not be back anytime soon. Update on top of the lack of croquetas we ordered specifically the types of pastries we wanted and when we opened the tray at our friend's house the tray was not what we ordered. Vicky's Bakery is such a nice and clean place to have a meal. You order your food at the counter with thier super sweet/helpful staff and then they call your name at the pick up counter once your food is ready. My husband ordered the Croqueta Preparada and he really enjoyed it. He said it tasted good and that he liked that the sandwich was stuffed with croquets. Not many places stuff their sandwiches with croquets, my husband thought it was a unique idea. I ordered the Palomilla and Eggs and it was delicious. For the price I got a lot of food. My meal consisted of steak with eggs, 2 pieces of Cuban bread, and a coffee all for $14.95. The portion was a good amount and everything tasted great. The only thing I didn't like is that nobody spoke English so it was hard to tell or ask the employees anything so if you speak Spanish fluently then you can be able to communicate with the staff!! For example when ordering pastries she had to turn the iPad around for us to choose what we wanted or point to the pastry we wanted! And then I wanted a bag and the guy said I don't speak any English so that was frustrating! NICE LUNCH We recently had lunch at Vicky Bakery in Orlando. Visiting on a weekday at noon, there was no line and our order was quickly filled: we shared a Cuban sandwich ($11.95), a large café con leche ($5) and two pastelitos (one curry beef and one guava - each $1.95). The Cuban sandwich was good - a hot, fresh and neatly assembled sandwich - deli ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard and shredded lechon on freshly baked bread. While a Cuban sandwich usually features sliced roast pork, we actually preferred the shredded moist lechon in Vicky's sandwich. Could be a thicker sandwich - wish it had a few more slices of ham and cheese and more of the delicious lechon. Went to the Vicky Bakery's Orlando location today less than one hour before they closed. The people who worked there were very nice and friendly. They went above and beyond to answer questions and provided excellent service for my very short visit. It is hard to find good Medianoche sandwiches in the central Florida area but Vicky Bakery has it and it tastes just like the one I got from Hialeah. The Pastel de Guava was so good that I bought 12 of them to take home and enjoy them later. Vicky came to Orlando! I was very excited when I drove by and saw it. I go to Miami often and I've visited the original location. For Orlando, the prices are way too high, especially for the Semoran area. They would do so much better if they reduced the prices. I can't get enough of their Pastelitos! The dough is spot on, soft and fluffy. They offer beef, guava, coconut and guava and cream cheese Pastelitos. The staff are very friendly but you must know Spanish. Make sure you get an itemized receipt and check your bank statements! They added on gratuity after the fact. Granted my mom forgot to ask for a receipt, but we knew exactly what was charged, then she saw the final amount on her statement. They added on 30% additional and then claimed she left that as a tip. I have tried a couple different latin bakeries, and this Cuban bakery might be in my top 5!! The garlic Sauce was very good and was a good portion for just one. The Empanada de Carne/ Beef was delicious, although i think i prefer a more crispier breading. The Pan De Bono(1)/Colombian Cheese Bread(1) WAS SO GOOD! Just make sure it's warm or warm it up! I wish I got 14 more... the Papa Rellena comes in a pack of three which is a pleasant surprise. The Pastel de Guava and Pastel de Carne (Beef) were very delicious, both sweet and savory!
