Swung by this bakery for some desert with the family. They have a large selection of bakery goods like cakes, donuts, pastries etc. We were greeted by a young lady behind the counter and kind enough to explain what certain items were that we didn't recognize. We opted for a cinnamon roll, guva cheese, chocolate cake, almond donut and vanilla cake. They were pretty good worth the stop just wish the almond donut wasn't dry but besides that definitely was good. Next time we will try there hot food.

I usually pick up sandwiches to share with my parents for a late breakfast treat but today it was later in the day so we just had sweets. I picked up a slice of the almond cake and also a volcano cake which has a penguin look via an order cookie and frosting, it was so cute. The service was quick and friendly.

I came here early around 6:30 on a Thursday morning and was the only person there initially. Customer Service slowly started to filter in and I understood why I got a breakfast sandwich two pastries and a coffee and brought them to work. They traveled well and I was able to share everyone loved the food. I especially like the breakfast sandwich that was baking, egg, and cheese on Cuban bread it had no greasy feeling to it. The bacon was crisp. The eggs were fluffy and a cheese was light. The pastries were the perfect blend of sweetness and moist. Now for the coffee I don't know if it was a language barrier, but I asked for a café con Leche and was told that yes they could make it but what I end up getting was coffee with milk. I know that that's the literal translation, but that's not a café con Leche but what I got was basic normal brew coffee nothing to repeat or get again but everything else was good place was clean and a customer service was exceptional.

This place is located within a strip mall right on Semoran, just a bit south of University. Wonderful bakery with a great selection of Latin baked goods. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly. They have hot food options as well and plenty of seating.

Wow, is my Spanish rusty. Don't let the receipt fool you... Only Spanish is spoken here. I've spent the last week using Duolingo to try to brush up, not specifically for this, but it was helpful nonetheless. I took Spanish both in high school and college, and for a while spoke well enough to get along, but that was many years ago, with little effort made to keep up the skill. This place is just a few minutes from my house, and I've been wanting to try it for months. I'm ashamed to admit that the first time I tried to come I chickened out and left because I wasn't confident in my Spanish. Today I was determined to make it work, communication barriers be damned. To their credit, either because they didn't speak English or didn't want to shame the obvious gringo, they made no attempt to speak English to me, but neither did they poke fun at my struggles. I kept it simple this time. Eggs, sausage, and toast, with a large coffee. The eggs were simple and plain, but the sausage was seasoned exceptionally well, and oh my God the bread ... . In short, I'll be back. And I have a new excuse to double down on my Spanish practice everyday. You should try it too, and if you need to, bring a Spanish speaking amigo. Also, apparently Robbie sounds like "Rabit" in gringo mumble.

I stopped by the restaurant/bakery for breakfast on Thursday, November 10, 2022. Considering they were operating as Hurricane Nicole was moving over the Orlando area, I applaud them for keeping their doors open when other establishments were shuttered. The overhead electronic menu boards did not indicate the restaurant offered breakfast sandwiches but, Yellis, a cashier, was very helpful in providing me a rundown of their breakfast offerings including the items in each of their sandwiches. I opted for a Ham, Egg and Cheese Sandwich on Sweet Bread and a Cafe Con Leche. The Sandwich was delicious and the choice of sweet instead of regular bread balanced the saltiness of the ham and was just the perfect combination. As to the Cafe Con Leche, I've had better iterations but, it may be I'm used to the Cuban style of the beverage. Next time I'll certainly try their selection of pastries as they were a definitely a feast for the eyes.

Sweets . . . so so many sweets.

For some people, fluency in Spanish may get them a job or even a romance, but for me clearly it will just get me . . . fat. And FL Bakery will have no small role to play in that mischief. FL Bakery is a latin bakery which also serves lunch and breakfast food. The Puerto Rican and Cuban food and sweets on offer are, in terms of all I've tried, first-rate. The atmosphere is clean, well-organized, and inviting for dining-in though I suspect they also do a robust take-away business. The staff member who waited on me especially ensured I got my iced coffee made exactly how I wanted it--with far more care and dedication than any Starbuck's employee has probably ever provided me. And the donuts . . . forget Voodoo Donuts, these are even better and you don't have to stand in line for an hour to get them, either. The selection of savory goods/things for lunch are also impressive--especially the empanadas and alcapurrias. My only complaint is the location: nearly in Winter Park. I would love one on Colonial or somewhere around I-Dive. Also, some staff speak better English than others--they all try, but if you do know even some Spanish, for heaven's sake use it. It will go a long way.

I have always heard about FL Bakery in Kissimmee so I was delighted to see a new location opened up not too far from me in Orlando. I walked in not knowing what to order and I didn't want too much heavy food or anything sweet so getting a sandwich was the perfect choice. I got a chicken sandwich and it was simple, yet amazing and delicious! Very tasty and it had me wanting to try other things on the menu the next time I visit, because there definitely will be a next time!

You haven't had shrimp and grits til you've had them as grit cakes, get the shrimp and grit cake: Monica style, if you don't like spice, maybe don't get it but it's delicious otherwise. The combination of the crunchy fried exterior and the creamy grits inside is such a yummy experience. Lastly, you have to get beignets and an espresso martini. As a beignet obsessed person, it pains me to say that their bread pudding is the superior dessert. I'm not a HUGE fan of the croissant flaky style of beignet that's become the norm for most places, but that's what they have here. I'd much prefer the classic beignet with the pocket of air in the middle. But otherwise they're still amazing and the espresso martini is delicious. Sarah B was an efficient and friendly waitress! The ambiance is nice, love all the NoLa decor. As for the food, my appetizer ended up coming out after my entree so they took it off the check which was nice of them. I thought the food was subpar which was underwhelming for me because I absolutely LOVE traveling to New Orleans just to eat. My partner said her food was on the salty side, and my pasta was just ok. I honestly don't think I will return but happy I finally got to try it.

They obliged and even gave her a Bleu Cheese Caesar salad on the side. Briarpatch knows how to impress as well as cater to the needs of the customer! I ordered one of my favorites, the Brown Rice Bowl and it was fresh and more than filling for lunch. Various flavored mimosas were enjoyed also. I went again last week with local friends as all three of us enjoy this place (and its mimosas!!) One friend tried the Chunky Chicken Salad on the menu (seasonal fruits and berries with zucchini bread sandwiches) and commented on the presentation (which Briarpatch is also well known for) and the freshness of the fruit. She especially enjoyed the zucchini sandwiches! Her husband ordered the Roast Beef Sandwich as it is one of his favorites on the menu. He devoured every bite of it and was very pleased with the tenderness of the beef and the flavor of the au jus. I ordered the Short Rib Benedict as I eyed it a few weeks back. It did not disappoint! Plenty of shredded, perfectly cooked short rib was on a bed of crispy hash browns. Two poached eggs covered in hollandaise sauce sat nicely on top of this amazing dish. It was heaven! Based on the above, I trust you can understand why I love this place. Outdoor seating, exemplary service each and every time I visit and food that is picture-perfect and tastes outstanding. What more could you ask for?! I highly recommend the Briarpatch!

The rain ended up stopping, and we were safe to stay outside! We started off with the focaccia and it was nothing like I've ever tasted before. There was this purple Tasman sea salt on top and it was paired with an orange butter. It was hands-down, the best focaccia roll. I've ever put into my mouth. I almost ordered another, but I wanted to save room for dinner. My friend and I split the lobster flatbread and the flavors of the red peppers with the lobster and the special sour cream sauce was delicious. For my entrée, I ordered the Chapman meatballs. I will definitely be ordering this dish the next time I dine in here! Once it was time for dessert, Maddie informed us that she would be giving us a no bake cheesecake to try. We had also brought in a Bundt cake for my friend's birthday and Maddie provided us with small plates and a knife to cut the cake. Towards the end of the evening, she found out that it was most of our first times there, and she sent us all home with complementary macaroons. I haven't had a dining experience this great in a really long time, so Maddie really made my friend's birthday extra special. Give Maddie her flowers because she deserves it!!!!
