This is our go to bakery. Not overly crowded, small, chill spot that makes great sandwiches. They make great basics like their the ham, egg and cheese on their sweet bread (pan sobao) for breakfast. Their oatmeal (avena), cream of wheat (farina) and corn meal (harina de maíz) are delish!! It's like a warm hug on a morning. Their pork sandwich and tripleta (triple meat sandwich) are always packed, delicious and can't be beat for the price. Talking about price I do feel like their prices are amazing. I paid about $26 for three sandwiches, a coffee and two oatmeal's. I thought that was a great price. Staff is always friendly and helpful. You can call and order ahead but they will ask for card info for payment. I have ordered catering from them before and our clients always rave about their empanadas. I haven't been to this shopping center in years! FL bakery has been here for a couple of years. They're a Puerto Rican restaurant and bakery. They have a full lunch menu with sandwiches, Mofongo and plates. Mom got the quarter chicken plate with plantains and potato salad. The chicken was crisp and flavorful! The potato salad was creamy and well dressed. The plantains were sweet as they should be! My mofongo was delicious! A huge portion of food with a delicious garlicky flavor! The staff were very sweet and helpful with my broken Spanish. They explained the menu and helped us order. The restaurant has two sections, the food and the bakery. I never leave reviews but this was has gotten to me. Went in to get a few treats for my kids and I (I was there alone). I waited in line where it showed "order here" and as I waited, the customer in front of me was attended. Being next in line the server went ahead and attended someone that came after me so I waited still. As I was the next one in line, the server continued to serve the following person that was after me. 3 servers behind the register who saw me and no one came to attend me. Swung by this bakery for some desert with the family. They have a large selection of bakery goods like cakes, donuts, pastries etc. We were greeted by a young lady behind the counter and kind enough to explain what certain items were that we didn't recognize. We opted for a cinnamon roll, guva cheese, chocolate cake, almond donut and vanilla cake. They were pretty good worth the stop just wish the almond donut wasn't dry but besides that definitely was good. Next time we will try there hot food. read more

I visited FL Bakery tonight based on their posted hours, which clearly state they are open until 10:00 PM -- on their website, Google listing, and front door signage. We arrived at 9:05 PM to find the doors already locked and the lights dimmed. When an employee inside noticed us and came to the door, instead of a simple apology or explanation, we were met with an annoyed expression and a dismissive wave, as if we were the inconvenience. When I pointed out that their posted hours showed they should still be open, the response was a shrug and a curt "we are closed" before walking away. No apology, no acknowledgment, nothing. I understand that some evenings may require an early close, but the least a business can do is update their hours or post a notice at the door. And regardless of the circumstances, there is absolutely no excuse for treating customers rudely when they raise a valid concern. We were genuinely looking forward to visiting and would have planned differently had the correct hours been posted. Instead, we wasted a trip and left feeling completely disrespected. I came here early around 6:30 on a Thursday morning and was the only person there initially. Customer Service slowly started to filter in and I understood why I got a breakfast sandwich two pastries and a coffee and brought them to work. They traveled well and I was able to share everyone loved the food. I especially like the breakfast sandwich that was baking, egg, and cheese on Cuban bread it had no greasy feeling to it. The bacon was crisp. The eggs were fluffy and a cheese was light. The pastries were the perfect blend of sweetness and moist. Now for the coffee I don't know if it was a language barrier, but I asked for a café con Leche and was told that yes they could make it but what I end up getting was coffee with milk. What an amazing find!! It's right on the main road and we honestly kept mentioning it as we would drive by on a regular basis. We finally made the stop in and have already been back a few times since! They are not just a bakery, which was absolutely what we assumed based on the name, but it's a full eatery! They have a buffet style line up with plenty of food options and honestly everything looked so good. We went after a meal to grab dessert / donuts for the next morning and boy it was hard to pick just a few things. My son had been telling me about this place for a while now and we finally got to try it! We both got red beans and yellow rice and the pork! It's like a little buffet but they serve you! The food was out of this world good! The beans and rice were perfection. The pork, omg the pork!! It was amazingly tender and seasoned just right! Wow, is my Spanish rusty. Don't let the receipt fool you... Only Spanish is spoken here. I've spent the last week using Duolingo to try to brush up, not specifically for this, but it was helpful nonetheless. I took Spanish both in high school and college, and for a while spoke well enough to get along, but that was many years ago, with little effort made to keep up the skill. This place is just a few minutes from my house, and I've been wanting to try it for months. I'm ashamed to admit that the first time I tried to come I chickened out and left because I wasn't confident in my Spanish. Today I was determined to make it work, communication barriers be damned. To their credit, either because they didn't speak English or didn't want to shame the obvious gringo, they made no attempt to speak English to me, but neither did they poke fun at my struggles. I kept it simple this time. Eggs, sausage, and toast, with a large coffee. The eggs were simple and plain, but the sausage was seasoned exceptionally well, and oh my God the bread ... . In short, I'll be back. And I have a new excuse to double down on my Spanish practice everyday. You should try it too, and if you need to, bring a Spanish speaking amigo. I stopped by the restaurant/bakery for breakfast on Thursday, November 10, 2022. Considering they were operating as Hurricane Nicole was moving over the Orlando area, I applaud them for keeping their doors open when other establishments were shuttered. The overhead electronic menu boards did not indicate the restaurant offered breakfast sandwiches but, Yellis, a cashier, was very helpful in providing me a rundown of their breakfast offerings including the items in each of their sandwiches. I opted for a Ham, Egg and Cheese Sandwich on Sweet Bread and a Cafe Con Leche. The Sandwich was delicious and the choice of sweet instead of regular bread balanced the saltiness of the ham and was just the perfect combination. As to the Cafe Con Leche, I've had better iterations but, it may be I'm used to the Cuban style of the beverage. Next time I'll certainly try their selection of pastries as they were a definitely a feast for the eyes. read more

For some people, fluency in Spanish may get them a job or even a romance, but for me clearly it will just get me . . . fat. And FL Bakery will have no small role to play in that mischief. FL Bakery is a latin bakery which also serves lunch and breakfast food. The Puerto Rican and Cuban food and sweets on offer are, in terms of all I've tried, first-rate. The atmosphere is clean, well-organized, and inviting for dining-in though I suspect they also do a robust take-away business. The staff member who waited on me especially ensured I got my iced coffee made exactly how I wanted it--with far more care and dedication than any Starbuck's employee has probably ever provided me. And the donuts . . . forget Voodoo Donuts, these are even better and you don't have to stand in line for an hour to get them, either. The selection of savory goods/things for lunch are also impressive--especially the empanadas and alcapurrias. My only complaint is the location: nearly in Winter Park. I would love one on Colonial or somewhere around I-Dive. Also, some staff speak better English than others--they all try, but if you do know even some Spanish, for heaven's sake use it. Was super excited to try this spot but was sadly disappointed. The restaurant is separated into 2 lines, one for food, and the other for sweets. The line for the food was very organized, however the line for the bakery was all over the place without any organization whatsoever. Even if you're in "line" people tend to go towards the employees directly, and skip people that are actually waiting. I was in the line for about 20 minutes, and was skipped twice by people who had just entered without waiting the line. I ordered the lunch combo and got pollo guisado, white rice, and maduros. The chicken had good flavor, but was extremely salty. The pastries, and desserts were yummy but not worth the wait, and hassle in my opinion. This place is literally packed with treats, I mean it was treats upon treats when I walked in. Outside of that I was just asking my mechanic where is a good place to grab some breakfast in the morning and after doing some research I asked him if this was a good place and he said absolutely. He did not disappoint, I walked over there and check out the menu beforehand and decided to just order the empanadas. And they were absolutely delicious. I eat them in a matter of 10 minutes and every bite was super flavorful. I savor those empanadas. I'm not sure if they are many English-speaking people that work at this restaurant. But if I had anything bad to say about it, i would say to get more staff that are bilingual. Outside of that I think everything is pretty good. Their ability to market their products, The fact that they already have another restaurant in the Kissimmee area, and just the ambience of the entire restaurant yells Puerto Rico and shows the owners ability to display this restaurant and what it's all about. Brought my FIL here after his visit to the local VA clinic but It's sad when you wait in line in front of the bakery section for 15 minutes, knowing that they are busy, you continue to wait patiently. It is apparent that this Florida Bakery is not for those who speak English. If one does not speak Spanish you what they wish to give you. From one who tried both Kissimmee as well as Orlando locations the food quality as well as taste is night and day. A pastrami sandwich in Kissimmee is amazing but the Orlando location is sweet and awkward in taste. The pastries are better in Orlando assuming one gets what they order, whereas in Kissimmee the pastries are dry and lacking the burst of flavor. read more
