I would like to start off by saying La Casa de PanDeBono has great food delicious as a matter of fact. But on this day, they lacked good customer service. The Wife and I were on the way to church we sometimes make a stop at this establishment for their fun bites. While we were waiting to be attended the cashier/receptionist & the food server had a lot on her plate. She was pouring some coffee, for a previous order. When she was done she was sorting out coffee cups. She was about to attend to us & the phone rang and she answered then proceeded to take the order. This took 20 minutes by the time the order was made, and the information on the credit card was given. They had to do it again because the card declined. My suggestion to this restaurant is to get more help or attend to the customers that have been waiting before you take an order on the phone. So essentially the person on the phone just skipped me. Not a good way to run a establishment. This is the only reason why I gave a 3 star review and I don't recommend the coffee. It's not craft coffee. It's your typical pot of coffee style but if you don't mind it then you're good. read more

Food: the pan de bono was everything I was expecting especially that it was freshly made. YUM! I got a loaf of cheese bread it was a bot hard not what I was expecting. The tequeños were good. Service was fast the owner was the one that actually offered if I wanted fresh pan de bono. Ambience a small bakery good to grab some goods for a nice layback breakfast. read more

This is a very basic and simple bakery but the stuff here is amazing. I have a few reservations regarding the sweets and desserts, but everything else makes up for it. The empanadas come out constantly, the pasteles too, the pan de bono are unique in taste, and the pan de queso is very tasty. All the other fried stuff is good and the sauces are outstanding. I have to ask a few questions when I go but the food has been good the two times I have gone. Chorizo is excellent. Get the small round rolls and you have a nice snack. The bread filled with ham, cheese and pineapple has a tasty sweet flavor. I like the beef empenada better than the chicken. Try them with the different sauces. read more

Update: I returned again and I have come to the realization that this restaurant doesn't deserve a 5; the pan de bono empanada filled with guava is great but not that great. Customer service is no good, they are not nice and they got my order wrong ( I really don't know how). I got a pan de bono roll, a pan de bono empanada filled with guava and a quesito. I came earlier in the morning hoping something would still be warm but I guess I did not come early enough; but the server warmed it up for me and it was fine. The quesito was ok and the pan de bono roll was great. The only reason I am giving this place a 5 is because the pan de bono empanada filled with guava was completely unreal; indescribable. The serve could have been worse, so I can't complain. Please get the pan de bono empanada filled with guava, it is such a treat. read more

Worst customer experience I've ever had. I went and ordered multiple things on the menu and I asked for an extra sauce and the women in the front refused to give me one, as she thought that was enough sauce for the order. I told her we were multiple people and she refused to give me an extra sauce. The customers in line were as shocked as I was. 4 stars based on the Pan Bono and the chicharrón ONLY 1 star on the arepa .... no taste, and expensive... (I don't mind paying for it, but only for has good taste)... coffee absolutely sucks, breakfast is only serve until noon, as a relates to service, much improvement is needed. This is prob one of the worst experiences I've had at a Colombia bakery. I'm originally from Maryland and they even have better places. I got to the restaurant prob around 10am and didn't look busy. Customer service was horrible, they forgot my food so after waiting around for 30 mins I asked what was going on and they had forgotten my food. Finally they brought my food it was cold and didn't even look appetizing(I ordered calentado with eggs and arepa). Also got the pineapple ham and cheese bread and it was hard and felt like it was old. As I was sitting waiting for my food, I saw at least three roaches, one by the cashier, and two around where I was sitting. I brought up my concern to one of the girls there about the roaches, and she seemed very nonchalant, so I guess they are used to that? Idk. The only thing I liked were the empanadas, they were ok but I've had better in Maryland. Over all, this was a disappointed experience nonetheless expensive as well, but hopefully they resolved the roach situation bc that was disgusting. read more

If I am given an option as to what my last meal will include, it will include this joint's empanada de cambray. I'm a Colombian who came to the US very little. I live in Northern Virginia where Colombian don't really exist nearby. I am traveled a fair bit (not to Colombia yet...one day) and have eaten Colombian bakery food in all places in Florida, New York, Richmond VA, Silver Spring MD, what have you. My favorite is the almojabana. I DIE FOR ALMOJABANAS. They are cheesy bread to the 10th power. Well when we go to this place from a recommendation from my cousin I'm going here for empanadas but maybe I'll get my favorite, almojabanas. Okay, so I go to the counter and I see this BIG PUFFY ALMOJABANAS and I'm like, "Are THESE almojabanas, they're so big" (translated for english speakers) and they said, "No, these are empanadas de cambray". Excuse me? What, what is that? "They're almojabanas stuffed with guava." WHAT THE FUUUUUUN! I almost died, I came almost every day on my Orlando trip before Disney, before Universal just to have these things. I will live with the memory of their greatness and I miss them dearly up here in Virginia. I love you La Casa del Pan de Bono and I love your empanadas. Ah a good old fashioned family owned bakery. To be honest we came in later in the evening so the selection was not as robust as I imagine it would be. We got some epenadas, a loaf of guava bread, and a ham, cheese, and pineapple roll. The bread was good, but I would wager that it is better in the early morning hours. There was a decent selection left. I love the smell of fresh bread. Overall, if you are looking for good and fresh on the East side, look no more. The service was good. read more

just realized this place existed on my way home from work. My standard for Latin bakeries is a little higher than most b/c ive had the best you can buy in FL. i stopped in and tried their empanada's, cheese pastry, and a coffee. I got 3 empanadas. the cheese one wasn't very appetizing, the beef one wasn't anything special. but i fairly enjoyed the chicken one. i def recommend the chicken. the cheese pastry was average. about the same quality you find at publix if anything slightly better. I really liked the coffee! cheap, fresh and tasty! i dunno if ill go back for anything other than the chicken empanada/coffee meh. read more

Tried this little bakery for the first time. They have a very limited selection, I'm Colombian and from Miami where I've tried a ridiculous amount of Colombian bakeries, and this is the first one I've been to with such limited selection but the food was decent and they had everything i normally order at bakeries except for one item. They only had 3 tables off to the side, but they could easily fit a few more in there and maybe it wouldn't look so empty. I ordered chorizo, empanadas, pan de bono and pan de yuca. The pan de yuca was amazing! I don't even normally eat it, but I will probably go back just for that. The pan de yuca is what made me bump it from 3 stars to 4. The empanadas were decent, i got meat ones. Pan de bono was also fine. The chorizo was a bit too mild, it was lacking in flavor. All in all I'd go back. read more

This is a small Colombian bakery but has all the essentials. I live in Miami but I feel like the Colombian bakeries in Orlando are much better! We came around brunch time so we had the arepa and recalentado (rice and beans with scrambled eggs) which tasted just like how my mom makes them! Why am I giving it one star? It's simple, while their chicken empanadas and hot sauce are delicious their customer service sucks. The last two times I went once I dined in with a friend and the owner was super rude to her and was denied additional sauce for our empanadas but we were also denied a cup of ice for our drinks. I just had the craving of empanadas and went to buy some, they don't acknowledge your standing there while there was no one in the place but they in my face denied me an extra sauce because the female worker said I had enough. I mean how does she know how many people were gonna eat, how much were we gonna eat and how much we truly love the sauce. It is unfortunate that being a latin woman I feel discriminated against for not being from the same latin country. Shame on the owner and shame on the worker for being rude and not putting the customer first!! read more

Their desserts are great. I tried their Miloja and it was delicious, I also had pan de jam on y queso. While the bakery is very small, the staff is very attentive and apparently, their breakfast is to die for, served from 8-12 noon. I wish they would serve arepas and other dishes even after breakfast. There's not enough words to say how much I liked this place. It's a simple eat in or take out place with some good food. Their Chicken Empanadas are great. Slightly crunchy outside with hot chicken and potatoes inside...and don't forget to put a little hot sauce. My favorite thing here was something I had never tasted before, Empanadas de Cambray. The oozing guava when you bite into it is unforgettable; my mouth was so watery. I also tried their Milhoja which was pretty sweet. I went twice to this place and a third time to take some to VA with us. The pandebono was savory with a slight crunch. Their Buñuelo was perfect. Their service was also top notch. They were really on top of it and also the older female as well as the younger male gave great recommendations which worked out well. What a great find on a hungry Thursday morning! We were in the mood for some Colombian breakfast and were pleasantly surprised to find one so close to us. Perhaps because we were early but everything was soft and warm and tasty! Great selection of items and all at reasonable prices. Not much for seating but enough for a couple folks. This small bakery is always busy--but serves customers quickly. There's a few sets of tables and chairs, but orders are made and picked up at the counter. The staff was very friendly and bilingual. I had my toddler with me and they didn't get (visibly) upset as he delighted in making lots of crumbs. The apple pastries that we ordered were fresh and delicious. The only downside is that the pastries under the glass weren't labeled. My Spanish isn't great but it's passable--I would've been able to make a more informed choice from the visually delightful array. As it was, I just asked for something with apple. They offer a refrigerator case full of colorful sodas and drinks, but no milk (toddler in tow). They also have hot coffee (no iced). read more

This is a mom and pop shop. They had a lot of options when I went. I much preferred the empanadas here than the other place I tried in Orlando. Nice small shop offering probably the best Colombian empanadas I've ever had. Very nicely sized at about 1.60 a pop. I come here just for those and the very darn good pan de bono (ask for it warmed up!) Which is a colombian cheese bread. The texture is what makes it so tasty and I could eat 10 of them!
