Vicky's Bakery is a cool little Cuban cafe nestled in Miramar Square. It's a busy area, however there is ample parking in front and around the bakery. This bakery has an assortment of delicious patties, pastries, fresh baked breads, desserts and sandwiches. I'm thrilled that they have a lot of chicken options! On this day, I tried the chicken croquettes and grilled chicken sandwich. The grilled chicken was tasty! Loved that it wasn't dry. Croquettes wasn't bad either. Planing to heading back to try some dessert options! They have some lovely ladies at the front. It was a task placing my order as the first staff member to help me didn't speak much English. The decor in this Vicky Bakery was somewhat different than the other Vickys around Broward County. The half wooden barrels char stamped "Cubano" affixed to the intentional withered creme colored walls with exposed red bricks underneath, gave it a warm relaxed vibe. The girl behind the counter was not chatty or charasmatic but quickly took my order. The hot Colada was presented in a small red Vicky logo cup and was strong and tasty. The gender neutral bathroom had an exterior rustic barnwood door with aged metal hinges that hailed as an added attraction to the ambiance. The bathroom itself had gray quartz style porcelain tile floors with retro newspaper articles as the wallpaper giving it some originality. Someone took their artsy idea for this room to another level. The cake and pastry display looked so perfect some looked fake. Lots of calories here for sure. These Vicky Bakery places are opening up everywhere. Not sure what type of coffee beans they use but mine had a roasty taste. Came in tonight just before they closed so it was slow. It's been so long I don't come to this location that I had forgotten they were so accessible. I stopped while at lunch today and tried a few things. The service was quick and efficient and I was surprised on how many more options they now have. I had a fried chicken empanada which you could tell it was homemade. Not my favorite but it was good. If you early in the morning hoping for fresh stuff, all you get is saggy pastries. Jam and chicken croquettes tasted rancid, tequeños are kind of raw, they will break down as you eat them. The staff is always friendly, the location is clean and all their items are made fresh and taste delicious. I can't come to Miami without visiting Vicky Bakery for some delicious Pastelitos, Sandwiches and Croquetas to bring home to Orlando. Once my family knows I am here they call me and place their orders, so I end up bringing home more than one box. The staff is always very nice and patient with me, they pack each pastelito order in separate boxes and they label each box for me. This trip I ordered a variety of pastelitos (beef, cheese, guava, guava and cheese) and an order of 25 mini ham croquetas. Yummy! I have also eaten Pan con Bistec sandwich and Croqueta Preparada Sándwich, both these sandwiches were made fresh and were delicious. Another thing I love that they have is freshly squeezed Orange Juice. I wish they had a location up here in Orlando, but until that happens I will continue to visit this location when I am in town and I will bring the food home with me. read more

It was Saturday. I had a massage at Massage Envy. I was hungry. I remembered this was next door, and well, the inevitable happened. I finally tried out this location of Vicky Bakery. Before anything, the décor is so trendy. The sofas look beyond comfortable and the wall art is very kitsch. Heck, they're so modern that they have a rewards program and even an app. Yes, I already downloaded it. But how does the food rank? Frankly it's hit or miss. I got there prior my massage and it was slammed. I wanted some oven-baked chicken empanadas and somehow managed to get the last one, but it was cold and not even a minute later they put in new ones. Ugh, what luck. The ham croquetas were hot and tasty. Perfectly seasoned with the right amount of the crunch. The chocolate mousse I got in comparison made me want to settle down and get married. Chocolate mousse, where have you been all my life? As for the café con leche I ordered, it left much to be desired - packets and packets of sugar required. This was bitter, and that's despite ordering it with sugar. I just don't understand. All this noted, though, I went to my massage after to then once again step inside this location. I swear, I don't have a problem. I just ended up buying some goodies for my boyfriend and his roommate. Well, and realizing there's a note for a happy hour: 50% off pastries the last hour they're open every day. I must try this. I have been to a lot of these chain Vicky bakeries so I knew the food would be pretty similar. But everything I got was cold. Nothing was asked to be warmed. The empanadas were not good, I orders the baked chicken and fried beef. The staple guava pastry was hard, I could not even cut it. The package of 25 croquettes all cold. The lady at the counter seemed as if I was bothering her, and unfortunately I have to tip because she's not the one preparing or packaging the food. Coffee was good so I'll go back for that but nothing else ever. Or I would have to have something made to order. read more

This is one of my favorite bakery. I came here to get a cup of cafe con leche and it was as good as expected. They really know how to make good coffee here. The service is good and fast too. Today I decided to try the Cuban bread. I was a little disappointed because it's not quite the traditional Cuban bread that am used to. Cuban bread has a flaky crust and its light colored and soft in the inside. There version of Cuban bread It's more like a blend of Puerto Rican bread and Italian. The crust is darker, thicker but soft not flaky. The inside is heavier like a Puerto Rican bread. Not quite the same bread. I still like the place. I love love love a good Latino bakery! Vicky's is one of my favorites and I was so glad to find this location in Miramar! It's right next to Orangetheory- don't tell my trainer I know this - in the Kohl's plaza. The pastelitos are heavenly! What's great about Vicky's is the price point. I got 4 queso (cheese), 2 guava & queso, 2 pan de bono & a freshly squeezed OJ for just $15! In other bakeries that would be 3-4 items only. If you are a coffee drinker go for the Cuban coffee the aroma alone is alluring! Pair it with some toasted Cuban bread and butter, make sure to dunk it! We ordered a steak sandwich and it was pressed perfectly. The price was $6.99 and it was simply delicious. Service was quick, friendly and with a smile. I also had a large cafe con leche, which was on point and only $2.60. And the cheesecake assortment was large, so we got a strawberry cheesecake and it was fresh. The price was $2.85. I come here because it's close by and the other Vicky bakeries are far. It is pricey but I figure I'm paying for convenience however today I ordered $65 for two orders what should cost maybe $30. When I was walking out the orange juice lid came off and spilled. I walked back and explained (without blaming them or myself for the loose lid) and they said it will be another $7 and change with tax for another orange juice. She said sorry we have to charge you.
