I love not expecting the best when visiting a new spot, and then being pleasantly surprised. Chuli's has been around for a while but I thought they just sold breakfast items, like pastries, coffee, etc. To my surprise, once I visited, I realized they offer much more. Things like, papaya shakes, steak sandwiches, lunch specials, like chicken, rice, and plantains, and much more. What's even better yet is the prices on some of these items. I ordered the chicken lunch special that came with a full breast of chicken, white rice and black beans and plantains for $12. Where can you find real food that's not junk for this price? The food was so good. Freshly made and tasty. I've also ordered other items like the steak sandwich, empanadas, croquetas , café con leche, etc., and everything was really good. I didn't know they were open for breakfast and lunch so I've been missing out all this time. The service was quick and friendly, which is always appreciated. They are a neighborhood Latin bakery/restaurant that serves freshly made food and drinks. The restaurant was clean and organized with a mom & pop feel. They are in a shopping Plaza on Miramar Parkway just west of Dykes Road in West Miramar. There's plenty of parking since they are located in a shopping plaza. I visited this location from a recommendation of a friend that lives near by. It's a small cute Cuban bakery. Friendly staff greeted me as soon as I walked in. I ordered several pastelitos (pastries) to go. I picked a few up to take back to Orlando. They offer mixed trays ready to go. I also ordered a large cafe con leche (milk with coffee). I loved the freshness of the food and the great prices. Great bakeries can have amazing food and not be over priced like this one. I still have hope Orlando will have one soon. read more

Chuli's Bakery is probably the best Cuban bakery in the Miramar area. It's a hidden gem on Miramar parkway, and everything I've tried here has been consistently good on multiple occasions. They have so many options to choose from and on every occasion I've been here previously, they have never let me down. This time around, I had a freshly squeezed orange juice which was delicious of course. Two ham croquettas, a beef empanada & a guava and cheese pastry, and they all were phenomenal. This is a place where you can grab things to go or you can eat alone or with a small group of people max 3) at the counter, but the inside is small. The staff at the restaurant are very kind and welcoming. They are very quick and efficient and you can also call ahead to place your order as well. Decent food, high prices, inconsistent service. The pastries are among the best in the immediate neighborhood. Especially their guava and cheese pastelitos. Be prepared to stand in a line for service, routinely get skipped over or ignored while the staff address their friends, or friends of the owner who come in after you (4, 5, 8 it doesn't matter.) Once that happens the other staff will not take your order until they clear the whole line behind you or you insist (who enjoys that early in the morning.) Some days you could get out in 5 minutes, or an order of toast and cafe con leche could take you 15 to 20 minutes, with no one ahead of you, depending on how many of their friends drop by, or how long their catching up or phone calls take. This is a place to potentially pick up all the cuban breakfast standards, food ranges from good to mediocre across the menu. Small eating counter and outside tables can accommodate 6 to 10 persons. La persona que me atendió por teléfono --no sé si era el dueño o alguien con demasiada confianza-- fue grosera, acelerada y cero profesional. Mientras hablaba conmigo, gritaba a empleados, interrumpía para atender a otras personas, y me apuraba para que pidiera algo... sin yo siquiera conocer el menú! No me dio espacio para pensar ni preguntar, y cuando le pregunté por chicharrones, me dijo que *él nunca ha vendido eso*, y que *fuera a pedirlo a la Casa de los Jugos*. Someone posted this place on Ring , we usually drive towards Hialeah on Sunday morning , just to buy Cuban bread . The owner doesn't care about customer satisfaction. As a matter of fact, he only cared about himself. He got really hostile & aggressive when I showed him that once again, the person in the kitchen keeps messing up. This man raised his voice, shouted at me to leave & never come back & went as far & tell me I needed "God" & "to go to church with my awful vibes". All because I showed him the dry, depressing sandwich with a slab of ham & chicken breast. Instead of fixing the issue, he proceeds to get furious, filling the entire place with negativity & blames me. He really told me to just never come back instead of fixing this problem. No matter what, that is poor customer service skills, lack of compassion & poor work ethic. How do you start yelling at someone but blame who you're shouting at for being "negative"? I used to come here regularly to get my coffee with sugar but every time there is a mistake on their end, somehow it's my fault & I am the problem. They went as far as call me a "bad person" all because I wanted this problem to be fixed. Instead of blaming me, shifting blame & making personal stabs at a once loyal customer, maybe look at the person in the kitchen who continuously fucks up the order. I didn't order the sandwich to add on to this, it was someone dear & close to me. I went in for them & they blamed him but when I jumped in & didn't allow it, that's when they started attacking me. He had to pull me away because a lady grabbed me to tell me to get out. What is really rich is how the owner kept changing the story. He went from saying my friend ordered a "tostada" but he said "Yo le pedi el Pan de Pollo." Than it was changed to another story & each time I spoke, it reverted back to somehow it being all my fault. Okay. Well.... The prices are inaccurate, they are not open to constructive criticism, the owner can't handle mistake on his employees part, I won't say anything about the ladies because they actually were nice to, in particular a very young & beautiful Cuban lady & a very sweet & lovely short Hispanic woman with a sharp nose. They have always been kind to me. Telling me to go home & make it myself if I don't like it reflects poorly on not the owner but the business as a whole. They told me to never come back & if I did, I would be turned away because I am "terrible & bad person." It's okay. I'll never return. We were in town, staying at a nearby hotel and found this great bakery that opened at 6:00am. We went in the morning to get a Cafe con Leche and some other goodies. The Cafe con Leche was delicious and only $2.80 for a large- can't beat that price. Actually everything we ordered was priced very fair. We ordered some Pastelitos- Guayaba (Guava) and Guayaba y Queso (Guava & Cream Cheese). Also ordered some Carne (Ground Beef) Empanadas and Papas Rellenas. Everything was so good- we ended up going back the next morning! We basically got the same items and also some Croquetas Jamon. I noticed the Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice is a hit. They were squeezing the oranges while we were there and they were selling quick. The employees are super friendly and happy to answer any questions. Upbeat atmosphere, you can tell they have regulars but are welcoming to all. It was busy both mornings we went, but the employees have a sense of urgency so the line goes real quick. A couple seats inside as well as a few tables outside but mainly people were getting food to go. My go to Cuban bakery. We have been coming here when it was Tati's. They are my family's usual Cuban bakery where we get all of our Cuban pastries and sandwiches. Our usuals are Pastelito of guava and cheese (which are perfectly light and airy), ham croquetas, pan de bono, steak sandwich, ropa vieja, and ham and egg scrambled breakfast sandwich. The service is always impeccable. The ladies are very friendly and always greet you with a warm welcome. It's a small place with a few seatings if you want a quick bite before heading out. I see lots of usual customers here every time I come. We love coming here and will continue to be loyal customers. read more

I was wondering where I could get a Cuban sandwich and she said they were really good. I ordered the sandwich and a coffee and my mother did like her sandwich but I know she would never even have a fourth of it, so I asked them to cut it in four so I could give the rest to someone else. I was told in Cuba they don't have a Cuban sandwich this was made up here in the USA. I'm not certain this is true but the Cuban driver at the rehab said so and he is from Cuba. Meh. First impression, not the best. I was in the area. Staff is not very friendly. I ordered 2 pastelitos de guayaba and 2 de carne to go. I didn't open my bag until I got to my destination. You guessed it. Two of the pastelitos were not what I ordered. They gave me 2 de queso, no carne. I wasn't about to drive back to return them. I tried one de queso and it was just ok. I've had better. I'm looking at you Vicky. I also ordered a cafe con leche that was really good and a tostada that they flatten like a pancake. $11 for all. Plenty of parking. Found this gem a few years ago while vacationing. Whenever I come back this is a daily visit. The breakfast and sandwiches and pastry all amazing. I am always welcomed like I am family. As I speak only English they are helpful in getting me what I want even when I try to translate on my own. They always make sure I get what I asked for. I have tried other Cuban bakeries and such and nothing comes close to this place. Now if I can figure out how to get them to come to Chicago I would be set. read more

Unbelievable rudeness and lack of respect! I'd give it a zero if I could. We've gone here many times in the past. My wife called to order a breakfast, and couldn't communicate with the person on the phone. This individual told her to call back in Spanish. I called back and indeed the owner told me, "it's my business and I can run it the way I want". Spanish speaking only. This is absolutely incredible that service in the United States has come to this. We will not go back to this place. My family immigrated from Spain and learned English when they came to the US. Guava pastelitos 10/10 super flaky pastries. The one with guava and cheese good but the cheese wasn't my favorite. The flake of the puff was a bit different. I would say go without the cheese as a personal preference (and I usually LOVEEEEE cheese) Ham and cheese croquetas...amazing. Crunchy on the outside, creamy and flavorful on the inside. So good!
