Miski is a tiny mom n pop Peruvian shop in the little strip mall on Stirling Rd just next to the Davie Rd intersection. You blink and you miss it! Better get your map feature on. So we were searching for Peruvian tamales and I found here that they served them but the reviews were very old, I called ahead and was told that IF they had any I would be able to take some as they preferred to save them for their breakfast combos. Funny- I thought any paid purchase was equally valuable... but okay... so I had been warned. Keeping this in mind, I arrived, purchased one tamal to taste it, it was okay, a bit small but okay and for $6.50 plus tax I asked for 2 more to go. The service can be slow as you are tended to by the shop owners, when I visited the gentleman was there on his own, so I had to wait until the other customer was done with all his questions in order to put in my simple order, I can see how this would become cumbersome at a busier time (we were there around noon). Sadly they only had 1 additional tamal available, so I took that one to go. We also tasted their ají de gallina empanadas and to me they were a bit dry, and the dough was a bit too sweet to my taste, so I didn't take any home. What I did notice were the cakes. They looked good and fresh, so I took a slice of lucuma and chocolate cake, and the last slice of the enrollado de chirimoya: let's hope they are as good as they look. Price wise we had 1 empanada, 2 small tamales and 2 cakes and the price was $35 including tip- so a bit pricey for the shop. Still, while there were no other eat-in customers, they seem to cater to many locals that seek them out for their empanadas and cakes, so a solid 3 star for the overall experience. Enjoy!

Loved this place, it's tiny but the food it's absolutely amazing. There's usually just two people one who cooks and who serves and it might be a lil wait but it's totally worth it. They have desayuno lurin on the weekend so definitely coming back for some!

Best empanadas in town For vegetarians- artichoke and spinach empanadas (yamm) For the normal people - beef and chicken empanadas - delicious!!!! My husband loves tamales here - he says it's the best he had around. Also if you have a sweet tooth - lucuma cake is delicious! Take your time and visit this place - you will not regret

LOVED THE FOOD. The bread is homemade and to die for! Honestly this reminded me of how grandma would make it. I'm giving it 4 stars for the purpose there isn't a very big space to sit and there isn't even a public restroom. Only downside.

Great coffee, nice desserts, friendly staff ;) Walked in to have a snack and ordered nice coffee con leche and was surprised with this delicious cake. The staff were very friendly. Took out tamales to go. Wish they had vegetarian tamales as well. Maybe in future?

    Perfection. Happiness.

4.5 stars. Very Peruvian place. Feels authentic. Had anticuchos, beef hearts, very very good. Had the Peruvian beef empanada, the dough was very distinctly home made and nicely done, the beef inside was a bit dry though. It was closing time at though, maybe don't come right at closing time. Chicha morada was fresh, nicely balanced. I recommend this place too.

We came in today for the first time and both our desserts were Mmmmmm . The cakes are moist and not overwhelmingly sweet. It's quaint but a bit not so clean. Otherwise, I'd rate it 5 stars.

It comes with a can of soda, appetizer and entree. This is valid Monday through Friday from 11:30am to 4pm. It is a great value. I ordered Causa for my appetizer. It is a potato with avocado, your choice of chicken or tuna and sliced egg. I chose the chicken. This appetizer was OK. I ate most of it but would not order it again. It lacked flavor. I ordered Lomo Saltado. This is beef tenderloin with a delicious sauce and white rice and fries. This was delicious. My friend ordered ceviche and a different entree. It looked similar to mine. I forgot the name.of it. She was happy with her lunch. Our server was excellent. He was very attentive and helpful with suggestions.

The restaurant is small, with room for about 40 diners. It's bright and airy and on a Monday afternoon at lunchtime the World Cup games blasted on the TV and the restaurant was about half full. It features lunch specials for less than $20 that include an appetizer, entree, and beverage. There was one main server and what seemed like an owner, who also was serving. She served us and though she lagged at times, she was very congenial. Hubby had the lomo saltado lunch special and paid extra for a ceviche appetizer. I love tacu tacu, so I had a pollo saltado with the rice dish. Both meals were delicious. We especially liked that they weren't too salty (often a problem with Peruvian saltado dishes). And I asked to have my onions cooked well and they obliged. My onions were perfect, cooked but with a slight crunch. I was a bit disappointed in the tacu tacu. I thought it was a tad dry. The gravy did help, but I didn't have enough and didn't think it possible to ask for more. Next time I will ask for extra gravy and stick with plain rice. They charge an extra 4% to use a credit card. (Something that has been cropping up a lot in restaurants.) We managed to dig out $65 cash between us to pay the bill. I guess we have to start carrying more cash, or pay the extra charges.

They were also able to provide us with separate checks with no fuss! This was a great plus for us. Overall I was glad with the quality and the variety they had. All the foods were freshly prepared, and arrived relatively fast to our table, so we all We're able to start eating and enjoying our food together. They also have a lunch menu! It is a reduced portion of their menu as it includes only 5 choices, but the choices are good enough that they are a great sampler of the food and the portion size is abundant! We all took some home for dinner! This time we did not taste their desserts, but I have such a craving for the chocolate cake that looked delicious, that I'm sure I'll be back soon! I ordered the tenderloin over the huancaina risotto and it was a huge portion (not a lunch menu item). The sauce was a bit salty so I did not take it "to go", just the delicious risotto and the tenderloin chunks. Three friends ordered the "trio" sampler with ceviche, fried calamari and some risotto; a couple friends ordered the sautéed chicken with white rice and French fries that looked spectacular, and a couple other friends ordered the fettuccini in huancaina sauce with the breaded chicken filet that was a humongous dish and very yummy! Finally one friend ordered a Maki Sushi roll that was beautifully plated, and another ordered the seafood risotto that was also very yummy. Everything smelled and looked like something I would've loved to have... so juat Enjoy and come back for more! Don't forget to check the last page for those lunch specials!

I had a great time the first time, and yep it's still that girl. Let's talk about the vibe real quick. The ambiance is everything. Modern, and just really well put together. From the furniture textures to the contrast in colors it all feels super intentional but still chill. Like, they knew what they were doing when they designed this place. 10/10 on the setting alone. Let's get down to the items shall we? What We Had Drinks ____________________ + Naori Signature Drink ($15) : 8.4/10 This one's made with Pisco Berries and Triple Sec. It's a layered, fruity cocktail that's a little more complex. Personally, I prefer the Pisco Sour it's cleaner and more balanced for my taste. But if you like citrusy and berry-forward drinks, you might love this one. Again, these are my reviews based on my taste buds. You might feel differently and that's ok honey. + Espresso Martini ($16) : 9/10 Strong, chocolatey, and gets the job done. + Lychee Martini ($16) : 8.6/10 Clean and balanced. Not too sweet, just smooth and refreshing + Pisco Sour ($16) : 10/10 My fave. Fruity, with this nice cold foam on top. Pretty sure there were peach or passionfruit notes in there. So good. * Shots - We also did a round (Don Julio, I think), and it kept the vibe going. Appetizers/Entrees __________________ +Nikkei Tiradito ($19) : 10/10 Thin tuna slices with a shouyu sauce that had a little citrusy kick. I could've had another plate just for myself. +Grilled Octopus ($20) : 8.4/10 This was good! Cooked well, had a nice char. Not my favorite thing on the table, but still strong comes with Peruvian corn and potato. +Arroz Chaufa Special ($24) : 10/10 Babyyy this dish was everything. Wok-fried rice, perfectly seasoned. That filet was so tender, and the shrimp just brought it all together. Easy standing ovation for me. * Dessert - I honestly can't remember what we ordered for dessert, but it was decent. Nothing crazy. I'd give it a 7/10. Overall Experience: 10/10 Customer Service: 10/10 Would I Be Back? Without a doubt. I even told my mom about this place and I think she went a couple months ago!
