Vicky Bakery is always one of my stops when I'm in Florida because I love surprising my parents with a box of Cuban pastelitos. This visit, though, left me a little disappointed. The prices have gone up what feels like an astronomical amount. I completely understand that costs have increased across the board, but I was genuinely shocked by how much I spent on a dozen pastelitos. The bigger issue for me was the bathroom. I had to use it while waiting, and it was honestly pretty disgusting. It looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned in a very long time. I've seen cleaner rest-stop bathrooms, and that's saying something.Maybe it's just me, but when a customer-facing area is that dirty, it makes me wonder about the overall cleanliness behind the scenes. Beautiful Vicky Bakery in Hollywood with super friendly staff. I have been to several locations in Broward County and this one definitely stood out. Came in this morning to get my first cup of coffee to start the day. The Cafecito was only $2.00 and was made fresh. Took my liquid gold and sat at a table amongst other customers. While sipping my coffee, I was salivating at the lovely cakes and pastries that were evenly lined in the counter displays. The bathroom was equipped with an odd locking mechanism which had a drawn example how to properly unlock the door to exit the very clean room with large modern cement tile flooring. read more

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent experiences at your establishment on June 6 and June 7, 2026. On June 6, I ordered a steak sandwich. Unfortunately, the sandwich was extremely disappointing. The bread was soggy, the lettuce was old and brown, and the shoestring chips were soft rather than crisp. The overall quality of the meal was unacceptable. Despite this experience, I decided to give your restaurant another chance and returned on June 7. I ordered a medianoche, and my boyfriend ordered a Cuban sandwich. Regrettably, both sandwiches were also disappointing. They were excessively soggy, overloaded with mustard and mayonnaise, and the bread was falling apart, making them difficult to eat. The sandwiches were messy, poorly prepared, and did not meet reasonable expectations for quality. After two consecutive unsatisfactory visits, I am extremely disappointed. I had hoped my first experience was an isolated incident, but the second visit confirmed serious concerns regarding food quality and preparation. Vicky is a South Florida staple, and it's so easy to see why. I truly feel like you can't really call yourself a South Floridian until you've eaten at Vicky's. I've eaten here a million times, and you have to get pastelitos, particularly the guava ones. They're amazing. I ordered some croquetas and they were nice 10/10 would recommend! But there was one issue... The pastelitos, they tasted like straight up metal or detergent!! And then I went to try another one seeing if it only was that one pastelitos that was tasting funny. but I tried another one and it tasted normal but the after taste tasted like meat or metal... If you ever tried Publix bakery and wondered if there was a level of quality below that, there is. It's called Vicky's Bakery. It's difficult to make vanilla cake tasteless and unejoyable, but at Vicky's they have perfected this art. And rice pudding that tastes "off" even though it probably isn't. It's a really, really bad bakery experience. The ambiance, however, is modern and clean and their designer has earned their keep. But some gas stations are also modern and clean, and I would rather eat pastry from a gas station than from Vicky's. read more

But on Noche Buena? These ladies stepped it up! In typical fashion, and as a person that never hosts for Noche Buena, I forgot the croquetas. How can you celebrate in style this evening that only comes once a year without croquetas? When one of my guests was telling me this, I knew I had to rectify the situation immediately. Lady Luck, God, a leprechaun, whatever, was definitely on my side. I found this Vicky Bakery that recently opened relatively nearby and off I flew. When I arrived, the parking lot resembled a zoo and let's not talk about the inside. I saw they were supposedly closing at 3 PM, or so that's what the sign said, but the line inside practically went out the door and the food just kept getting made. I felt so bad. By the time I ordered, I mentioned this, and the lady at the cash register told me that they would keep working until they could. SPEECHLESS. That's what I was. I ended up getting a pack of 25 croquetas for around $8 as it was way cheaper than getting individual ones. Wasn't a bad deal at all. We bought 'more than $100 worth of food and did not get what we wanted. Once the worker was informed, she did not take accountability causing her to get defensive. Saturday, June 4th, 2022 Tropical storms and flooding outside, we decided on a Cuban breakfast indoors at Vicky's Bakery. The cafe con leches were on point, Cuban toast was gigantic and in a great way, ham/cheese croissants were delicious, our assorted pastries were perfect and party platter to go to share with our pottery class will be a hit. I wanted to mentioned the last time we were here they had music but with commercials playing and I mentioned that in my review that if they removed those commercials the experience would be that much greater, today the music is jammmmmmmmming, zero commercials, we enjoyed listening while we ate such a great breakfast, we even stayed longer just because of the music. I have been to 2 other Vicky bakeries and was excited about this one because it's fairly close to my house and looked really nice on the inside. We ordered (called ahead pick-up) breakfast we normally get from the other Vickie's: *croissant breakfast sandwich: asked for eggs fried hard but got weird little pieces of scrambled egg whites, barely. I ended up making fried egg at home to put into the sandwich. The ham inside was good and the croissant itself was also good. *cortadito and cafe con leche: made well tasted good, gave lots of energy as per usual. *tequeño: my son approved *croqueta jamon: we ordered 6, they tasted weird to me like.. lemony? Idk. But my bf said he liked them. I didn't have my 3, I gave them to him. It was an okay experience, esp when I could just go to the one in Davie.
