It basically feels like paying to hang out in an equipment room for an hour. My massage was average at best. Therapist was friendly but did not seem not trained or qualified. Worst of all, his long and sharp fingernails actually left mark on my back (see photo). Oh and after my massage as I was getting dressed I saw this guy crawling by. Not surprising at all given how gross that space is. Won't ever be coming back here and wouldn't recommend to anyone. This place clearly has fake 5 star ratings --there is nothing good about it

I visited Melt today and had the BEST massage! If you are looking for somewhere to visit in the…read morearea then just get yourself booked in. I have visited a few cheaper places in the area (more hand, foot and bodywork and beds separated by curtains sort of places) but more often than not I left feeling dissatisfied and in more pain than I arrived. I left Melt feeling like all of my knots had completely disappeared and in no pain at all. I saw Diane and she really listened to the areas that I wanted to focus on and what I was looking to achieve from the session. The space is really nice, with comfy heated beds and good sized, private, rooms where the treatments take place. The prices are a little high (I paid $140 for a 60 minute massage) but you really do get what you paid for. I will definitely be making a massage here part of my regular routine. One thing I would also flag is that to access the studio you do need to walk down some steps, so not very accessibility friendly. Obviously not their fault but just something to be aware of if you plan to visit.

One hour before the session she emailed me to say that she's taking the morning off for personal reasons. I was fortunate to see it before leaving the house. I wrote back to reschedule and never heard back from her. I can only assume that she doesn't care or need more clients. I have been in a lot of pain and was looking forward to a healing massage. Instead she let me know that she couldn't be bothered to reschedule an appointment that she canceled at the last minute. I'm so disappointed and hope to find another practitioner who gives consideration to their client communication. :(

On our first visit when she explained what she saw and it literally all clicked. I felt in my body what she described. And then we got to work. After 3 months working together, I've been able to lift weights for the last six weeks and go for long road cycling sessions. She's brought that joy back into my movement. I was also pretty anxious about acupuncture (I had only done it in a very small way previously) and that was not treated with the care I was hoping for. The initial practitioner I had scheduled with canceled and they swapped her with Chelsea last minute. She was personable. But I had chosen my initial practitioner purposefully, and it has left me wondering how that session might have gone. Unfortunately I will never go back. I found the front desk email communication about insurance clear and easy to understand.

We both agreed that the technique wasn't something we were used to at massage places - there was a lot of holding certain positions with a poke? We were expecting more smooth swift movements that applies pressure but also soothes. We've had our fair share of massages and I just had a prenatal massage at another place and it was a much more luxurious and typical massage. I had originally thought it was because I was getting a prenatal massage but my friend also felt the exact same way, so I think it's just the technique here. I did feel comfortable though. They gave me a pillow to grasp onto and also a leg pillow to give me pregnancy support. I was also leaning on my side the whole time. it is important to note that they don't have one of those contraptions that allows a pregnant woman to lay belly down where the belly hangs over this hole. The other prenatal massage place I went to had that contraption, but red moon wellness seems that unsafe. Overall it was a "safe" massage, so that they don't induce labor or something else but it didn't really feel like a massage.

I did not have an appointment, however, I was able to be seen within 15 minutes or so. Typically they ask you where you want them to focus or what have been aching you-- that was not done here, but I guess that was okay. There was no banter, the lady just went to work. I want to reiterate I'm very used to massages, even though it's been about two years since I did one. The lady was actually hurting-- I'm a bigger guy, I have a high pain tolerance but it was way too much. I think she saw me noticeably flinching a lot; I asked her not to be as rough. It got a little better but she applied way too much pressure. The whole massage to me was a bit unique, so of the style utilized was unfamiliar with me. I did appreciate the hot stones toward the end, though. I wanted to hold off on writing my review until I saw how I woke up or if I was going to be in pain, lol. I guess in the ends to justify the means!
