Tried on my wetsuit today and SUPER SUPER HAPPY THAT IT KEPT ME WARM BOTH MY SUIT AND BOOTIES! Huge THANK YOU TO the guy who helped me out because I am a big chicken when it's cold I honestly hate CA beaches being freezing cold so I need the thick suits! It was challenging to get in and out of but well worth the hassle At first I was torn between a cute design or being practical and in the end I'm glad I got the wetsuit perfect for winter weather because it's always cold for me anyway! Also bought some booties and other cool stuff. I plan to come back for more stuff because I absolutely LOVE this place! They've got the cutest swim suits and accessories. It's a shopping heaven for beach lovers and I definitely found my place. I'll also take surf lessons here and super excited to do it finally! I was treated like a fellow running friend of Sarah's, and I was matched with a pair of the Saucony Triumph 24 at a competitive price at my local Fleet Feet Agoura. He told me to wait 20 minutes he had another and walked away without offering any context or basic customer engagement. I understand retail can be busy, but professionalism is simple: acknowledge the customer, communicate clearly, and manage expectations respectfully. As someone who runs departments in the film and television industry, I can say this plainly - if one of my team members handled a guest or anybody that way, we'd have a serious conversation about standards. Leadership starts with how you treat people in small moments. I hope this feedback is taken constructively. Customer service is what separates a specialty store from a big box retailer.

Malibu Lumber Yard is like a girl that used to be hot in high school, got strung out on meth after…read moregraduation, and has been sober and getting her life back together for the past few years. It still looks like a nice building, but most of the units are vacant, the common area is missing some of the nicer decorations it had in the past (e.g., fishtanks, plants, etc.), and there is hardly any foot traffic. Hopefully they bounce back and get some tenants that will breathe some new life into the place, but based on how many people left and didn't come back after the fires earlier this year and how slow the rest of the city is recovering, it could be a while before we see any real improvement here.

I think many of the shops here are for women, so if you want ladies clothing with Malibu style, this would be a good spot. Café Habana. Excellent! The real reason to hit the Lumber Yard. When I returned to the store to process a return, the experience was disappointing. The associate inspected the pants, smelled them, and stated they had been washed, then refused the return. This was both uncomfortable and frustrating, especially since the items were simply tried on for fit at home and not worn. I understand that stores have policies in place, but the handling of this situation felt unnecessarily dismissive. A more professional and customer-focused approach would have gone a long way. Most customers won't take the time to leave a review--they'll simply choose not to return. With so many convenient online options available, in-store experiences need to justify the trip. Unfortunately, this one did not. Service with a smirk has never worked for me..
