I bought the black suede pants with fringe and never picked up the brown one but I kept asking about the brown one for a long time and the owner who was my friend, never mentioned it nor even told me to come get it, so many years rolled by and I just never returned. The other day, I decided to stop by thinking she would do the right thing and mention it and give me the brown pants I paid for a long time ago. Nope. No mention and when I asked about it, all I got was silence. To add insult to injury, we were really friends. I saw a black top in the store that I wanted to buy and she said it "looked big on me". She told me $80 and I wanted to buy it but she said "since it's on consignment, she would have to check the price" and she would "give me a good deal". When I asked about the top because I wanted to buy it, she went silent on me. A few days after, she quoted me $180. There was no designer name on it and I am aware of designer labels and prices, so I told her it's too expensive and I don't want to buy it. Long story short, I will never shop here again. I was a loyal customer and friend, and I guess that friendship did not matter and keeping her word is not going to happen.

Located on the corner of Cross Creek Road and Civic Center Way, the store is a bit hidden off the PCH but still access is still quite easy. Parking in this area can be a challenge no matter which store you're attempting to visit but there are some hidden spots alongside the nursery and the thrift shop. Inside you will find two levels to the store. The top level consists of the normal gag gifts and other fun hi-jinx you're accustomed to find in all Urban Outfitters. What else you'll find on the top floor is their version of Bath and Body Works. There are plants and a bunch of other organic mubo-jumbo that I was surprised to see at Urban Outfitters. Although it was unusual the soaps and other items seem to fit well with an Urban Outfitters in Malibu. The lower level consists of the normal funny tees, loose hanging shirts, flannels, and skinny legged pants and jeans. Urban Outfitters isn't my normal go-to place for clothing but their funny gifts always seem to save me when I've procrastinated in buying a BDay present for one of my friends. At least this location has something new to offer.

The first time I visited this location, an employee named Hannah (I believe that was her name) helped me. She's short with jet black hair. Unfortunately, she was extremely rude. While I was asking questions about sizing, she seemed annoyed and gave off the impression that she didn't want to help. The second time I visited the store was today, on my birthday. I wanted to buy something as a gift to myself. She happened to be there again, and when I asked about an item on the silver rack she was once again very rude and dismissive. She looked like she either hates her job or just didn't want to deal with me. Another employee ended up helping my friend and me. She had an accent (I didn't catch her name), but she was much kinder and actually helpful, so I appreciated that. The store itself is really cute. The design feels very 70s-inspired and they even have a lounge-style seating area that feels like a waiting room. They also regularly have items on outside sale racks--things like bathing suits, hats, shirts, leggings, and sweatpants. Parking is not great. You may have to park across the road for free parking or drive further down to find a spot. Also, because the store is in Malibu, expect heavy traffic. Overall, I probably won't be returning to this location. Now that I know my size and have a few pieces from the brand, I'll likely just order online. It's nice to go into a store the first time to feel the fabric and see how things fit, but the customer service here made the experience disappointing.
