Always they are super friendly on the phone and last week I had to take my bike since I had an accident on the FDR, all I can say is that the whole experience was very smooth, Edwin and Chris were very attentive and they took everything out of my lap. they dealt with the insurance company and delivered my bike right to my garage! if this is not white gloves service then I don't know what to call it! I bought my brand new Vespa LX150 YESTERDAY! And I could not be happier! I had emailed the store with a couple questions and received lightning fast responses from Misha, a very friendly GUY. Not a woman... the xoxo's at the end of my emails now seem like they might have been a little TOO friendly... Ooops! After completing my motorcycle safety course at MSS, I went down to the Brooklyn DMV to get my Class M license, Yippee!!! Then from there I walked to Vespa Brooklyn. After an extremely chilly walk I arrived (NOTE: they will come pick you up from the train station!!!) and was Greeted by Misha who was very friendly. I had intentions of just looking around the place to see my options and look at the bike that I wanted in person, LX150 in Volcano Black. Misha showed me every bike in the place and was very, like, just normal and calm and friendly. He wasn't trying to sell me everything, and he wasn't overly energetic. Just like, super informational and nice. I took a test drive on one of the used vespas that was simular to the new one that I wanted and once I got back I asked about financing options... Most people pay $0 down? Really? Whoa! Really easy, awesome financing options. I put about $900 down, and am making $100 monthly payments. FULL coverage insurance is about $500/year. Why don't we all drive Vespas again? Misha even got all my insurance figured out, gave me my plates, registered my Vespa and organized everything for me! I think I might have been in and out of there in an hour, and I am so happy! Easily one of the happiest days of my life. I will be going back for all of my Vespa needs. read more

My motorcycle recently had an electrical problem that prevented it from starting. After calling around some shops in the city, I decided to go with Vespa Brooklyn, even though their hourly rate was higher than some of the others. The Great: + Friendly staff all around + Nice shop + Great response time + Great pick-up van (covered) The Average: o Explanation of the problem. It was a bit of a black hole experience, since I didn't get to see the damaged parts, but the problem was fixed and it's running strong. o Pick-up was a little expensive. $125 to go from midtown to Brooklyn? Ouch. Their showroom is fairly small, but the vibe is great. The owner introduced himself and we had a brief chat and I could tell he was passionate about his shop. That made me confident in my decision and I will definitely be back (hopefully for the new Tuono!). read more

My boyfriend and I bought 2 scooters here at the beginning of May. (So much more fun than buying a car!) Sasha helped us pick the perfect ones for us and we have been joy riding ever since. It was a happy ending until the inevitable happened--someone backed into my bike and tipped it over cracking my mirror, my break lever and chipping paint. I brought the bike in about 20 minutes before close. The shop guys were super helpful and Chris told me he would get the repair charges squared away with my insurance. Of course there was another variable, which was that I needed to use the scooter for my overdue road test by a certain date. He assured me I would have it. Vespa Brooklyn has been servicing my Piaggio Fly 150 scooter since I got the zippy motorbike in 2014. I am still riding it, and do so year round, 365 days a year barring ice, hellacious winds, storms, snow, or freezing temperatures. I love the scooter life and Vespa Brooklyn helps me keep my bike up to date and worry free. I took one star off cause they prices are on the high side, $90 for one hour of labor, to me, seems inflated. Also, I noticed uncomplicated jobs vs complicated installations still charge the same hourly rate, which is dubious. I do love the service people, especially my man Chris. They are good following up, and have been very patient with me at always explaining to me the bill and timeframe for repairs/inspections/installations. If you are into scooters or Italian motorcycles, check out their showroom next door to the service center, they got a variety of latest scooters and motorcycles to choose from. read more

RED FLAG! Terrible customer service with arrogant, money grabbing Owner (father) and obnoxious, dishonorable Manager (son). (NOTE: Respect for the highly skilled and dedicated mechanics & workers that give their best at Vespa Brooklyn--VB.) YES--you can be fooled by the slick clothes and polite demeanor necessary to get you to spend your money or have your Vespa serviced here. VB touts itself as the "only exclusive authorized Moto Guzzi, Piaggio and Vespa dealer in New York," and they are. If you own a Vespa in the Tri-State area--these guys know you're at their mercy. The moment there's a disagreement or question of their business practices--the level of aggressive rudeness, sharp tone and dismissive language is the code of conduct. As long as you go along with and pay for their exorbitant service pricing and questionable recommendations, you're going to have a good experience and write a favorable review here. I could provide a full description of what transpired with my interaction with VB but I don't want to give this disappointing, unprofessional business any more of my time or energy. I will only say that the matter of contention was an easy fix that required responsive communication at best, but the way both the Owner and Manager became disrespectful; raised their voices and refused to take responsibility or acknowledge the issue and my concerns was atrocious. I will never return to BROOKLYN VESPA and I'm sure they wouldn't care one way or another because they really have a racket going on there. ONE STAR only because if they don't get you on the first visit--they'll show themselves for the second or third. BEWARE: If you have an issue with your Vespa--take it to other proprietors in Harlem, Queens, the Bronx and in South Brooklyn. read more

I've been to plenty of service shops and believe me, they provide good turn around times and reasonable service. It's a bit pricey, but running any shop in NYC with qualified techs is going to cost a premium. I wouldn't just drop off my bike to just anyone though. There's a shop here in my neighborhood that could not order an oil filter for my bike because of how unfamiliar they are with the brand. Mind you this particular model has been around since the 70's. Just saying. Specialized techs cost dough. I'd rather pay a bit extra and get a bike back that works instead of having it break on me again. read more

I went there for my first 600 mile service on my Guzzi V9 Bobber Sport. Service guy Edwin greeted me before they even opened and wheel my bike in right away for my service. The mechanic Kosta got to work on my bike immediately with a 3 hour estimate, and they were done in 2.5 hrs. The mechanic made a point to tell me in person what he did. You can tell he was very knowledgeable on these bike. They even replaced my headlight through the warranty, who Edwin set up before I got there. I didn't want to make that drive twice from Long Island. Only down side of the whole day is there location. I'll do the 3000 mile oil change, but will be back at 6K. read more

I have purchased 2 Vespas from the shop and they are always patient and attentive to my needs. I have used the service department on several occasions and found it be reliable, and although it is not the cheapest option in town, the job gets done properly. The dealership has horrible customer service. They are just not interested in dealing with people if you haven't bought your bikes from them. Everytime I have gone there, I have come out feeling like they were doing me a favor by letting me in. The example of how anti-customer service is from the fact that they will do motorcycle inspections only from 10 - 1 and 3 - 5 only Monday to Friday. That means that someone needs to take time off to get the motorcycle inspected. Even their sales is horrible. I went in this week to ask if they sold tail bags, and after being sent to three different salespeople, I was told that they only sell for Vespa and Piaggio. They would not even bother to listen. And it was not like they were busy. They were hanging outside on the sidewalk. As and when I pull the plug on a new Stelvio, I will make sure they dont get my business. read more

My story is kinda lengthy so feel free to skip to the advice at the bottom :) I brought in my scooter (Which I purchased at VB) after experiencing sporadic power loss. Chris told me that's it's most probably some cracked valve and should be covered by warranty. I call in two days later and Chris notifies me that "IT'S NOT WHAT [HE] THOUGHT IT IS BUT IT'S SOMETHING WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND WOULD HAVE TO BE DONE AS PART OF A MAJOR SERVICE FOR $360, NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY." I was very skeptical about it since it didn't feel like a transmission problem but rather a fuel problem. However I was very busy with school and had no time to further investigate the matter so gave in and told Chris to do the full service for $360. A couple of days later I call in to inquire about the scooter. It was right before closing, Chris wasn't there, and another guy picked up who told me that "[they] STILL WAITING FOR THE PART TO ARRIVE. So basically the issue was indeed covered by warranty but Chris lied to me and managed to squeeze out $360. I told that guy what happened and that I DON'T need the service. He told me that I misunderstood and that the service was RECOMMENDED not required and that It was already done and I'll have to pay Thankfully I had all the conversations recorded and in the end they were afraid of me taking legal action so when I called back the next morning they pretended as if the service wasn't done and they didn't charge me for it. I picked up the bike, and guess what, the problem was still there. I ended up taking it to Motorcycle Mall in NJ. They identified a minor issue with the carburetor and it was fixed within 3 days. No MAJOR SERVICE needed Drives like new. Now the only other time brought in my bike for repair they ordered and installed the wrong part.. I'm not sure what kind of mechanics they employ. Now to be clear there's a MAJOR SERVICE recommended by Vespa but it's at 7k miles and I was at 4.5k. And here's where Vespa Brooklyn's overall dishonesty comes into the picture: Their slogan is that "NEW YORK IS DIFFERENT" They will tell you that you need to do s particular service or oil change by 2k or so miles earlier than the manual due to the unusual traffic and potholes of NYC. If you argue (as I did) that the book says differently Chirs will swiftly tell you about 'horror' stories of people doing the maintenance according to the manual and ruining their engine and therefore forfeiting their warranty. I must admit that I believed them until I spoke to a mechanic from the US Vespa headquarters when I filed a complaint regarding the above story. He told me one thing: "ALWAYS FOLLOW WHAT IT SAYS IN THE MANUAL. THE MANUAL IS UNIVERSAL AND THE BIKE WAS DESIGNED FOR CITIES, NOT FOR COUNTRY ROADS." In addition, Vespa Brooklyn told me to use 86 grade fuel in contrast to the manual which says 95 (equivalent to 93 in America). Perhaps they want to insure maximum issues with the engine so you visit them as often as possible? Who knows.. The mechanic at Vespa Headquarters told me to stick with 93 as it says in the manual. Now, sadly Vespa Brooklyn is the only certified dealer in NYC at the moment. I you are thinking of buying a new bike, I'd suggest The Motorcycle Mall in NJ. They have more models in stuck and are a certified Vespa dealer. For repairs, I'd suggest Scooter Bodega. If you still your warranty and plan on doing repairs at Vespa Brooklyn here are some tips: -Get everything in writing and always record the conversations (yes it's legal as long as you're a party in the conversation and you don't have to tell them that you are recording) -Read every single paper before singing. (At some point Chris attempted to slip in a paper for me to sign which would authorize him to do some insurance work, even though I told him that I may just wanna take the cash and not do the work). I suggest you ask him to review it outside the shop so you don't feel rushed and disturbed by him. (He's and expert in making you feel that way). -Finally, if you have an issue, call the Vespa headquarters. The are here to help their customers and make sure you continue to buy their products. Also, a complaint with the department of consumer affairs can go a along way. -Follow the manual, I was assured by the Vespa headquarters that as long as you do the services as stated in the manual you'll never forfeit your warranty. I brought my piaggio in years ago. The owners son took care of bike. The service was titled, "Major Service." $800. No itemized detailed receipt. Just "Major Service." At $800, I pick my piaggio up. Two days later, the battery dies and the muffler falls off. I call immediately and speak to owners son. "Not our problem, it did not happen on our time or store property, not our problem." Major Ripoff. Low class animals. They wouldn't treat John Gotti this way. Brooklyn vespa are weak, cowards, that make a living ripping off people. I had a very pleasant experience with Dimitris and James and highly recommend going here to any new riders. I had no experience in buying a vespa and had only rented/ ridden scooters a few times. All my questions were answered including how to get a permit and where to enroll for Motorcycle safety school. This rating is just based on a phone call, I have not been to the store yet, and really is more of a rating of a salesman, rather than the store. But I think that a store that hires good salesmen is probably a good store. I am selling my BMW 1200GS and plan to purchase a scooter, perhaps a Vespa. Basically I've decided that although my current bike is TOTALLY AWESOME it is just not the best thing for the city. It's too big, goes too fast, etc. But I like the convenience of being able to get from point A to point B very quickly, and I love the fact that motos and scooters are TOTALLY EASY TO PARK in the city. So I googled "Vespa" and clicked on the find a dealer page at the Vespa site, and then clicked on Vespa-Brooklyn and got the phone number for the store. When I called, I had an excellent experience speaking with James Dobson, one of the salesmen there. (PLEASE NOTE: THIS JAMES DOBSON IS NOT AFFILIATED IN ANY WAY WITH THE ANTI-GAY, ANTI-CHOICE, BASICALLY INSANE AND HORRIBLE ORGANIZATION, "FOCUS ON THE FAMILY" WHICH IS LED BY A FAR RIGHT WING CHRISTIAN NUT-JOB NAMED JAMES DOBSON). James patiently spent about 30 minutes on the phone with me going over all the questions I had about how I can sell the bike, and what types of scooters this place sells, and the differences between the various types of scooters, and how they compare to a large bike like mine, etc., etc. James was very helpful and I plan on heading to the store next week to check out the scooters. It's going on 2 years since I purchased my red Vespa GTS 250cc and I appreciate the relationship I have with this business. This week I got full body work on the scooter to repair scrapes after a small fall. It looks brand spanking new! If I drive them crazy with my calls or questions, I would never be able to tell. They are super supportive and professional. They support my service decisions, give great advice for maintenance and products, whether in house or not. The service department is very aggressive with their maintenance schedule. I think Piaggio corporate should be made aware that they push clients not follow the service manual schedule. Why would they push to change a drive belt at 5000 miles and oil every 2000-3000 miles when factory service manual has belt change at 12,500 and oil change every 6000. They told me because of NYC streets and driving. What a ridiculous statement and a lie! I am from Rome where scooters are run very aggressively (stop and go) and on narrow cobble stone streets. My beverly 350 was always serviced as per the Piaggio maintenance schedule. They have a captive market and completely take advantage of this to maximize profits. Go to Roberto at UNIK MOTO in LIC for service the way it is supposed to be. Fair, high quality and by the manual. read more

Had a fantastic experience here from the moment I walked in the door to the moment I pulled away on a Primavera 150. Andrew runs a fantastic operation and Arjun, my sales rep, is the best. Knowledgable, friendly, not pushy at all. Even with social distancing and having to run a very limited operation (masks required!) Unless you are going to let them take advantage of your insurance company they will not have anything to do with you... They take their time getting to your bike then rush you into decisions... Oh and if you have an older bike, Then... well It's just not worth their time... They didn't do anything I wanted to my bike and to be honest it runs like totally since I got it back... They call you and if you don't answer (cause you are at work) They will literally hang up and call again... Super amatuer.... The sales dept may be good... But the service dept is too overwhelmed and They want to do what is easiest for them... Never again... read more

Wow I'm very surprised of all the "Good" reviews on yelp. I'm sorry to say my experience was quite the opposite. I brought my Px150 in for a simple gas leak fix. After $400 later they still couldn't fix the problem and suggested that I replace the tank. I decided to buy the tank from them and have my brother who was visiting and a vespa certified mechanic install it to save further costs. It was to my surprise that the problem of the leak was nothing more then a $2 gas line which they said they replaced on the work order but never did. The gas tank was intact and didn't need to be replaced. To make matters worse they refused to refund me the money on the tank. Very much a lack of professionalism and experience. I would NOT suggest them to anyone. There are much better and "honest" dealers in the city. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. I bought my Vespa here a few years ago. Ive also been doing my winter storage here for the last few years. Bottom line...I spent over 10k here in the last few years. I recently needed to get an estimate for a repair. They wanted to charge me $160 to give me an estimate. They said they would refund me if I got the repair there. I explained to Chris that I was a long time customer and bought the bike there. "It doesn't matter its shop policy". Well that was the last time they will be hearing from me. I am now doing all my repairs at Scooter Bottega in Redhook, Brooklyn. Much better customer service and no attitude. read more

I've been riding scooters for about three years now. A month ago I finally got the my little "dream machine", a brand-spanking new Vespa LX150. In one month of owning it, I've already had two issues. First: a key got stuck and wouldn't come out of the ignition. I do realize that many a guy would fix this problem on the spot, but I was a damsel in distress. I initially went to Vespa Soho, only to be told that their service center is in Brooklyn and none of their salespeople are willing to even come out of the store to see if they can help. I called Vespa Brooklyn and they were not just knowledgeable, but also nice and accomodating. My second problem was worse: someone knocked my scooter down and by the time the evil "they" picked it up, the carburator was flooded and scooter was not operational.
