    Walked into Vespa Brooklyn as a newbie with a million questions - never even rode on one before. James helped me through everything, answered all of my questions and I left feeling like an expert. The only thing you can't do is test ride, but I am lucky enough to have a friend who let me try hers and after that, I decided to buy! They had everything ready in just 1 day. They take care of the insurance and registration so you don't have to worry about going to the DMV, and they also have financing options. I have only had it for 3 days but I am already obsessed. So cute and convenient to get around. Highly recommend ! Thank youuu James & Vespa Brooklyn

    My Vespa was stolen and had a good amount of damage/theft before being recovered. This was such an unexpected expense and my insurance wouldn't cover the cost. Joe and Ty from Vespa Brooklyn did an incredible job of outlying the necessary repairs and trying to keep the cost as low as possible for me. They were both incredibly communicative and kept me updated as my bike was in the shop. Thanks to them I'm back riding and I am forever grateful!! Thank you guys so much!!

    When I called to make an appointment to purchase, I spoke with Palmer and I liked him very much. I explained my circumstances and he gave great advice. I ended up getting my motorcycle license through the Motorcycle Safety Foundation first (so I would have the horsepower to zip out of a sticky situation need be) which delayed my purchase a little but as soon as I was ready I went to see Palmer at the Brooklyn store. Andrew (President) had to send Palmer to the Manhattan store for the day to cover someone who was out sick but Palmer gave Andrew all the details of our conversations so that Andrew could take care of me that day. While I'm not riding right now because it's too cold for my taste, I cannot wait until it's warmer! I use my Vespa to commute from Brooklyn to Flatiron and I love it so much!

    Could not have asked for a smoother experience getting my new Vespa! The communication was top notch and they had my vespa ready and at my door in 3 days. Friendly, helpful, and efficient customer service. Highly recommend.

    NEVER DEAL WITH WALT HEALY...!!…read more being sold a Brand new Yamaha dirt bike at way over price and being lied to by multiple sales people along with terrible customer service left me with a very bad tatse. 1) Purchased bike, got it home and bike was not set up properly so would not throttle and would die. 2) took bike back said sorry not our problem there is no warranty and it would be $ 350 to make bike run 3) paid the 350 dollars and was promised the bike would be ready in 3 days and they were not making money on bike and told " still i was ahead even after paying an extra 350 dollars...." 4) Part that was needed someone forgot to order so it was going to be another 15 days as they missed the shipment ... 5) Do yourself a favour and stay away from this shop !!!

    WED - July 28 _10…read more Yeek, I just hit Blackfoot - GW - and Walt's looking for a new helmets! Wow, having been born and raised here in town, man, what a difference a few years makes. I used to hang out at Walts when they were down on10th and rummage around GW when they were on 16th....... Blackfoot looked really pretty and the selection was OK, maybe a tad pricy, but the place looks great and they have a really smoken store, a decent size and fair selection. GW- gotta love em, the place has growed up a tad since the old days and now its freggin huge! A really great selection of gear and the staff were awesome, dude came up showed me what I wanted and explained why I can pay $100 bucks for a dome or a grand! The prices looked a bit higher than Blackfoot a bit but I'll double check tomorrow. I didn't really get any help at Blackfoot though when I was there, I was pretty much ignored. Then I went to Walts - on the web site they show a freggen WALL of helmets but when I got there all there was is just a puny selection on the wall and half of those looked old. Pretty Sad and misleadingas all hell!! Man, that place looked like a hole, maybe the prices are great because they don't spend a ton on looks, I dunno. It kinda sucks, I've driven Yammy's for years but I don't know if I'd wanna buy one from Walts. The place looks like they gave up on being a bike shop, I hope not - I like Yammy's So I'm off to GW or Blackfoot tomorrow to pick up a new noggin, we'll see who wins ..... Cheers' Dave

    (I am posting this review anonymously)…read more I am conflicted as I write this review. Hugh (owner & chief mechanic) and Fumi (mechanic) are extremely competent, old-school mechanics, and their positive reputation is well-deserved. Hugh is responsible for keeping the sub-culture of vintage British motorcycles alive and well, in the dealer-infested NYC. I have used the mechanic shop since 2016. I really wish them well and want the shop to continue to succeed. However, over the last couple of years I have had bad experiences with them. Josh who is now the shop manager is lacking in people skills, communication, dependability, follow-through, courtesy & humility and other principles of basic customer service. It is not easy to bypass him, given he also blocks the customers from talking to Hugh directly which is odd given part of the great experience with Sixth St Specials used to be the friendly contact with the mechanics who work on your bike. Most recently, the brand new tyres they installed in June 2020 developed side-wall cracks despite just 6 months/3K mile use. I had diligently inflated the tyres to the manufacturer-recommended PSIs, ridden the motorcycle non-aggressively on tarred roads, and winterized the motorcycle on the center-stand in a weather-controlled garage etc. When I asked for help with filing a warranty claim with the tyre manufacturer Josh was unhelpful despite multiple calls and never followed through. I had to contact the tyre manufacturer directly and have them call the shop to get the purchase details in order to file the claim. Last year, I had poor experiences dealing with Josh as well (for e.g. he insisted that my motorcycle did not have liquid cooling even though it did, pushed me towards the brand of tyre he had in stock, mounted the tyres despite my forewarning that the manufacturing dates were more than 5 years old, gave me strict ultimatums on deciding various options of fix for a rear brake light trigger etc.) I believe this issue is fixable and I hope the shop does not lose its hard-earned reputation because of the shop manager.
