Walked into Vespa Brooklyn as a newbie with a million questions - never even rode on one before. James helped me through everything, answered all of my questions and I left feeling like an expert. Just very flat toned. I said I was hoping for sooner. He said ehhh no. And he basically did not give a shit. He just called today 8/4/20 at 4:50. I told him it was a long wait and I would not want them to lose my business since I was looking to upgrade the scooter. He seemed again to not give a shit and said ehhh. ok. Awful place, they lied to me when they sold me the bike after almost 2-3 hours waiting because their system was down, they told me that the first service was free at 600 miles as part of the deal. This review is to inform others that the garage staff stole my $600 value Dainese helmet. I left it with my Vespa as I always do for a repair, and upon return they would not hand it back to me from behind the counter. I could see my helmet in plain sight, but they claimed it belonged to someone else. I patiently returned the next day for them to verify their mistake, and they continued to insist that it belonged to another person. Despite multiple visits and phone calls and being patient (meanwhile most suggested I file a small claim suit) I was not able to obtain back my helmet. I found this particularly frustrating because they had my helmet in plain sight, and refused to give it to me. They did this with an indignance and a stubbornness that was very upsetting. In speaking with multiple people, I have come to the conclusion that they intentionally stole my helmet and obtained a cash value in an aftermarket sale. In other words, they are just another set of sleazy garage owners. I hope this serves as a warning to guard your personal items with care in their presence and to be diligent with documentation. They watched me drive away with no helmet, the helmet that they were holding in their hands, and did nothing. read more

The team gave me a demo helmet to borrow so that I could safely ride home and came and picked it up from me later that day. Purchased a Moto Guzzi v7II Special from this location. I do not live in the area and was really hesitant but after getting Exceptional Customer Service. They Earned the right to have my busines. I was approached and helped by David Tineo. Surprisingly I felt not rushed or pressured. Nothing like I received at another dealership I visited. I had an idea of what I wanted but was still on the fence. I feel that having a Great Product like the products they sell should not require pressure or added BS from salesmen and I found David to be genuine in his approach and is confident in the products he offers. He was very professional to both my wife and I and brought us to the service area to let us listen to the distinct soumd of the moto guzzi v7 II. I had my mind set out for a black stone v7 II but the wife had a different idea and loved the look of the special. David took the time to listen to my concerns and what was perventing the purchase and took a proactive approach to accomodate solutions. We came to an agreement to include delivery of my new bike and a handfull accessories at a fair rate. Best of all David gave me the time to make the decision which took approx 3 days. We worked out a plan and scheduled everything. A few things that helped make the decision easier was the quick turn around on any communication sent. Emails Phone calls. Etc. From Start to Finish it was a great experience. Had opportunity to interact with Andrew (owner) he was also very accomodating and got my paperwork in order and did not try to upsell me on anything which is an A+. Delivery was also on schedule. Pros They seem to be honest but pricey at the same time. They could have bs me and banged me for a lot more. But on the other hand I knew what was wrong but at the same time above my pay grade to fix myself. Conclusion Learn how to fix and do the simple things like oil and filter changes. Air filter changes. Spark plug changes. Battery changes. Exhaust system changes. Oxygen sensor changes. Learn their locations by Downloading the parts and shop manual on the internet. It's Free. Then shop around for parts for the lowest prices. Mostly everything is at arms reach and easily accessible by just removing the seat/bucket on these scooters. It isn't brain surgery for this kind of stuff. It's just a scooter. But you will be ripped off for the "simple things" at any dealership you may go if you don't learn yourself. read more

Sub-standard bike repair! Every time I went there at least 2 screws were left missing which forced me to do what I could do to double check their work. One time I went there with the speedometer/tachometer working normally & when I picked it up they told me it broke while they were working on non-related problems. Took my motorcycle (2013 Moto Guzzi V7) here because the dash flashed MAINT after 4660 miles and I didn't care to research anything about my bike. Had I researched, I would have found out that the model year of my bike shouldn't have needed servicing until 6214 miles but sometimes the dashes will still be programmed to show maintenance intervals from a older model. Vespa Brooklyn could have done the HONEST thing, cleared out the warning on my dash, explained the new service intervals, and sent me on my way but instead decided to do their DISHONEST scumbag siphoning of my wallet. They not only performed the 6214 mile service, they also decided to do the more expensive 12,000 mile servicing so they could rack up more unneeded labor time and inflate the bill. OK, I could maybe tolerate the excessive servicing if it was done correctly but these thieves couldn't even do that. The airfilter and fork oil was never replaced, the bike was ready on the same day so the valve adjustments couldn't have been done correctly (valves need to be set on a cold engine after sitting overnight), and the final drive fluid drain bolt wasn't properly closed so my bike was leaking oil all over my rear wheel while I was obliviously bombing down the BQE. These shadetree swindlers could have seriously killed me with that last screwup. In short, I will never trust my bike with Vespa Brooklyn's service dept ever again, and if you care for your well being you won't either. UPDATE REPLY TO BUSINESS Hi Andrew, Upon reviewing the bill that I paid, it would seem that I paid for a 12000 mile servicing as I was charged 150 minutes of labour time which is in EXCESS of the 130 minutes that Piaggo allocates for the 12000 mile service. I was also charged for the final drive gear oil and the transmission oil change which IS part of the 12000 mile service. I do believe I was charged for the valve adjustments as I was also charged for 2 new valve cover gaskets, Unless you can explain what servicing needed at 4660 miles was done which needed both valve covers to be removed... I assure you the bolts on my final drive hub were obviously loose and oozing oil, my final drive seals are fine as I've torqued all the drain and fill bolts to correct factory settings as per the shop manual and haven't had a problem since. But all these points are moot as I shouldn't have needed ANY work done at my mileage. Best case scenario, you guys are honest but unknowledgable about servicing the products you sell. Worst case, your service dept is dishonest and takes advantage of uninformed motorcycle owners and rip them off with shoddy and unnecessary work. 2ND UPDATED REPLY TO BUSINESS Picture of Manufacture's Service Table and copy of itemized bill posted Hi Andrew, I stand by my original review and I would like to offer you the opportunity to review it with me on this site to be viewed by all potential customers, to explain the services you performed, line by line, according to the manufacturer specifications and your personal experiences with the V7 model. No air filter, no valve adjustments (according to you) -Why are some items from the 12000 mile service done (transmission and final drive) but not others? No fork oil change, no valve adjustment (according to you) -If no valve adjustments were done as you claim why were both valve heads removed? -Why was 150 minutes of labor time charged if the more labor intensive 12000 mile service (which you claimed I wasn't charged for) only takes 130 minutes and the 6000 mile service only takes 70 minutes? -$25 for 2 NGK sparkplugs? Always they are super friendly on the phone and last week I had to take my bike since I had an accident on the FDR, all I can say is that the whole experience was very smooth, Edwin and Chris were very attentive and they took everything out of my lap. they dealt with the insurance company and delivered my bike right to my garage! if this is not white gloves service then I don't know what to call it!
